what version android you running ?

if its only once every 1-2 months
i would expect it may revert to "on"
    after an OS update

as i said, you don't need apps for this, so first thing i would do is uninstall any apps that could interfere

I think you're onto something. Just yesterday I installed a system update.

i was just about to edit to mention that
called wifi+ on huawei phones, although it looks like they have removed it on huawei recently
as i could no longer find it in settings

if the phone has something named similar,
better to disable it as it switches the phone to mobile data when wifi drops.

    It's disabled.

  3. Time after time I lose all the money on my prepaid DTAC card because for some reason the mobile data has switched itself on. I even have an app that's supposed to give me better control but that didn't prevent the money from being drained yet again.

My question is; what can I do? I'm looking for an app to password protect switching the damn thing on but haven't found anything. Any other options short of keeping no money in the card?

    The hand-drawn map has been reported - I would bring a google-printed and hand-drawn.

Bring extra pictures - more then the minimum, so harder to block you by not approving one of them.

Be sure your TM-30 is up to date - though that is just the start of issues with where you live.  If you rent, that (and a few other difficult offices) will try to block you with "landlord docs."  This is not a problem if you own your condo.  But, if renting, landlord-signed copies of your landlord's ID card, your rental-contract, the house-book for where you live, and proof-of ownership document (chanote) for where you live.

They know the last two can be difficult to get from landlords (especially absentee), which is the only reason they ask for them - to block your legit application.  They will be coming to visit, to confirm where you live, during the under-consideration period, so not really a question of "if you are really reporting a valid address."

Hopefully, you will be proving financials with the 400K "money in the bank" seasoned for 2 months.  If using income, there are other issues reported - at least one report saying they were outright refused when using the 40K/mo method.

Thanks for the tips. When they say bring pictures will photos printed on A4 paper suffice or do I have to go to a photo shop and have proper ones printed?

Wrt where I live we own a house in the wife's name and I have a yellow house book. Might be the first time I can actually find a use for it!

  5. Could anyone with specific knowledge of Jomtien Immigration please let me know about their experience in getting a one year marriage extension and if the list ubonjoe kindly posted is complete wrt that specific office?

For instance, I seem to recall being told that a printed map from Google maps showing the way to your house was not accepted, it had to be hand drawn.

You visas expiration date means nothing now that your are in the country. That is the only the day your have to use your visa to get a new 90 day entry.

The under consideration stamp will allow you to stay in the country until your extension is approved and stamped in your passport.

    Yes you are wrong.

OK, good to know. So if I'm able to do an out/in for an additional 3 months before my visa expires on 23rd of Sept and then get an additional 60 day extension to visit family on top of that does that mean I won't need to apply for a one year marriage extension before 23rd of February 2021?

This is my list of required documents and etc. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

The re-entry permit will not be done until after you get a your extension stamp at the end of the under consideration period. You will need copies of your passport photo page, visa, new extension stamp and TM6 departure card.

I assume you will be applying for a 60 day extension to visit your wife to have it in bank for 2 months when you apply.

Thank you for the info. I was planning to apply for a 60 day extension before 31st of July unless they extend the amnesty. If they extend it for a month I will do it on 31st of August. But if I apply for a one year marriage extension just before my one year visa expires I should get a under consideration stamp that allows me to stay after my visa expires on 23rd of September, is that correct?

Just to clarify, I am under the assumption that I will have to apply for the 1 year marriage extension before my 1 year non-O visa expires. I can not do it later than that (let's say during the 60 day extension to visit family). Am I wrong in this?

  8. The 31st of July amnesty end date is fast approaching and even if they extend it it's unclear when the borders will be open again for an out/in stamp required for my 1 year non-O based on marriage obtained in Savannakhet.

Since that visa expires on 31st of September I plan to get a marriage extension in Jomtien. That means I will have to transfer 400k before 31st of July for the two months seasoning but since it's been years since I did this the last time could someone please link the complete list of requirements for the extension and multiple reentry stamp?

In addition, any tips on what to do to facilitate the process when dealing with Jomtien Imm. would be highly appreciated.

  9. It's always been easy to sync the PC's time with the Internet but that changed a while back. Now it does not want to do that and every time I completely reboot the computer (starting with the BIOS) it gets it wrong by an hour and some minutes.

I try to sync it but it doesn't want to and as you can see last successful sync was 20 days ago. What could be the problem?

PS. I am able to set it manually but it changes back after reboot.

In all the years I have been stopped at police checkpoints here in Thailand, not once have they asked for my driver license, not one single time, ever.

That's very different from my experience. I moved here in 1993 and didn't bother getting a license until years later but now I wouldn't drive without one. I live in Pattaya and get stopped and asked for my license (at least I did before Covid-19) on (a rough) average about every 10th day. When driving my car outside of the city it also happens occasionally.

  11. Just had a look and it's not plasterboard but some kind of Huntonit or chipboard or something similar. Guess I'll buy a primer and full coat before final coat with paint.

Another question; can I use a roller for applying varnish? I have large roof surfaces covered with narrow wooden boards and it would take forever to use a standard paint brush.

  12. So I started scraping off loose paint on the plasterboard roof outside my house and got some Jotun interior/exterior white paint. I just applied it to some of the naked areas and as you can see in a matter of minutes the paint looks like this.

So I obviously did a couple of things wrong. Any tips would be most helpful.

Prices will depend on the vehicle and more importantly what film you choose.

One place that is always busy when I have been there in the past was on Sukhumvit south bound just before the traffic lights to turn right to Naklua.

Pop Auto Glass - not the cheapest however as gets a lot of insurance recs.

Thanks for the tip, I will get a quote. I guess if I keep my eyes open I will see other shops doing window film along the Sukhumvit.

Do we know if they will add 60 to the date of application?  In other words, will they add 60 to the "auotmatic covid extension"?

I already used my 60 before the July 31 rule (blocked by "undocumented requirements" for the 1-year), so doesn't help me - but even if I had not used that 60-day, I would not count on this being an option.

I have a 1 year Non-O based on marriage. Are you saying that we're only allowed one single 60 day extension of stay for the purpose of visiting wife per 1 year visa?

  15. My friend who's here on a retirement extension had an operation a week ago and stayed one night in the hospital. In all the "commotion" he forgot his 3 months reporting and is now 1 week overdue.

He will head down to Jomtien immigration tomorrow and try to sort things out but has anyone any idea of what he can expect from them?

    Nice ride ?

    Very busy ?

Nice ride, light traffic but still roadwork in many places - mainly on barriers/fences along the road. Long stretches of the road surface consists of concrete blocks though so every 30ish meters you run over a joint that's heard and felt load and clear, especially driving on run-flats.

  17. Drove past today and saw trucks being loaded with gym machines. Since the Tiger boxing gym is already gone I have a feeling this isn't a serious overhaul but rater the end of Tony's Sports World. It's been a bit of a dump for years and I certainly got my money's worth for that "lifetime" membership I had for 13+ years but I'll still be sad to see it go.

Now for the big question; where to go? I won't be buying any more lifetime memberships so will be looking for a decently equipped gym on the "brightside" with a reasonable yearly membership fee.

Don't know to be honest as I only drive past the on ramp on the way to work, guess there could be one further up... change should not be more than 50 satang though given the distance travelled on the 7

Well, I will give it a go and report back. Not that it's of any huge interest but in these Covid times you take what you can get:wink:
