Pretty much, unless you want to pay a toll by getting on the 7 from the other way, going through the toll booths then taking the off ramp onto the extension.

When going to Chantaburi I pay 10 Baht for that little stretch of 7 I drive on before turning onto 36, so based on distance traveled that would be about 5 Baht I guess.

But we shall see, I will give it a go today.

From Pattaya why not just get on the 7, go through the toll booth and then take the new road (entry on the right).

OK, silly me. I just assumed I was only able to enter the new highway driving southbound on 7. Thanks, I will do as you suggested.

  3. OK, so to go from top to bottom starting in Pattaya I'll have to drive Siam CC up to 36 then keep left onto 7 and hug another left onto the new highway before the Pattaya toll booths, right?

  4. According to this article it' snow open for a "trial run" but it also states the only access point is at Utapao airport so if I drive down to Ambassador City the entrance to the new road is still blocked?

So the free trial run is anyone wanting to drive on it has to enter at Utapao and the drive north, make a U-turn at some pint and then return to Utapao??

  5. According to people who live in the district it's open to all nationalities but I suppose they might be wrong then since no one has used it.

PS. Just talked to my source (sister-in-law) who claims to have seen "farangs" crossing the border with her own eyes. She lives just a few km's from the border.

PPS. Not relevant but FYI on the Thai side there's a bustling market with two names; Khao Din and See Phen

OK ports looks fine. Not sure where encryption is in that client, may on the Privacy page.

Have you checked your VPN permits torrents?

Just found the solution even if I don't completely understand it. The HMA VPN says: "Not all our servers have the ports for p2p open" but say their Frankfurt and London servers do so when I connected via frankfurt I could continue downloading even with the VPN connected.

Thanks to all you guys for your help!

Does it connect if you don't use the VPN?

Are you trying to download well seeded torrents?

Have you changed your torrent software away from the default ports and turned on encryption?

EDIT If you are using a private tracker are your credentials correct and has your membership been approved?

The answer to the two first questions would be yes. The two last questions I'm sorry to say I don't understand but have attached a snip of the settings page for ports if that helps.

Likely the VPN is your problem.  I have AIS, and I can tell you that with port forwarding enabled, the router won't allow peers to connect.  AIS does not give you a straight connection to the internet.  I have not put the router in bridge mode and that may solve the problem.

I tried Googling what you wrote but to no avail. Could you please explain how I can get around the problem of not being able to connect to peers with VPN enabled?

    Plastic or galvanized metal?

Not much help, but I had some building work done  and the builder had to call in a special guy to do the guttering, proper primo uomo he was too. So try going via a builder or builders merchant where you buy the stuff..

    I found this under PCEC.

SEENUAN Engineering Two telephone numbers: 087-5832166 & 092-9127124 On card says Pho Yai Gui market is 500 meters away No name on card, but suggest you have a Thai speaker to call them as English is very limited For Installation & Repairs-Rain gutter-Zinc, Stainless steel-Hood-Ventilator, Awning-Wrought iron, all kinds of steel.

Thanks for the tip. I've got sheet metal gutters and only need a minor modification done.

  10. I will again post this question as my previous attempt was left unanswered and all my searches turn up old threads with non-connected phone numbers:

I need to have some work done on my rain gutters so can anyone recommend a person or company for this kind of work?

  11. Recently I have experienced problems when loading a newspaper from a European country. Normally the page loads in a few seconds but now it's not even possible to load all the pictures that accompany the articles.

I have a 3BB fiber line for which I pay 749/month and the theoretical speed is something like 800/200.

Just now I did a speed test to that European country and the upload speed was faster than the download speed - never seen that before. Any idea what this could all mean?

Not sure on the state of your floor, but rather than re-grout I have found that running a cheap toilet bleach along the joins lifts a lot of the dirt and removes the need of starting from scratch.

I will try your advice in areas where re-grouting isn't necessary. Could you please explain how you go about doing it?

Yes, I have done that along all the joints but there are large areas where the grout is partially or even completely gone so no choice but to re-grout.

  14. I want to start to re-grout the floor tiles in my house and will buy a grout remover. Never done this before so any tips or tricks you could share would be most welcome:wai:

In theory you should be able to, depending on how you go. You say "off Thepprasit". Looking at the map, there's a number of "back soi" routes that would get you to the Suk on the other side of Makro, you'd then turn left, go to Makro, turn left when you leave and drive down to Thepprasit and turn left again.

They shouldn't be blocked off as far as I know. Even if you went to soi Boon Kanchana and turned left it shouldn't be a problem as the checkpoint would be on the other side of the Suk to control traffic trying to turn onto that road, not traffic coming out of it.

See the first diagram, traffic turning towards Makro isn't controlled. Then note the second diagram, traffic coming from Makro (which would be above the top of the diagram) and then turning left onto Thepprasit isn't controlled either.

OK, that looks pretty straight forward but if I should somehow hit a road block will I be able to get back in just by verifying that I am indeed a resident of Pattaya (DL, yellow house book, passport)?

  16. I haven't read all posts in this thread but would just like to ask if it's possible for me who live off Thepprasit to drive my car to Macro on Suk and back without some form of special permit?

Is it enough to have copies of my DL (both sides) displayed in the window?
