IMF are independent, iam not wrong,no major neutral think tanks think the UK will prosper after brexit, surely even you can see that.

IMF downgrades UK growth forecast on Brexit uncertainty - BBC News.html 208.54 kB · 0 downloads

If you believe that think-tanks are independent and free from political persuasion then you are naive in the extreme.

Having said that Mark Carney made overtures last week that the UK could prosper with a no-deal....for what its worth.

Personally I think a deal will be done. There is no way that the UK Government/EU will allow a no-deal.

"Current trading and future prospects have also been seriously affected by the uncertainty created by the Brexit process, which has led to our inability to secure valuable flying contracts in Europe and a lack of confidence around bmi's ability to continue flying between destinations in Europe," the airline said on its website late Saturday.

Our doctors surgery is staffed by 1 Brit Doctor, 1 Pakistani and 4 Indian doctors. The other surgery in town is staffed by 1 Brit Doc and 5 Asian doctors.

All this shows me,is that we are not training enough of our own doctors, relying instead on enticing doctors away from where they are needed.

At the moment we train 7500 doctors each year, although the government  now states they will increase this number up to 8500. Unfortunately this number is still 1000+ short.

Yep, we train them up then they f@@k off abroad for better money...

Again this isn't the full story. Firstly it was based on forecasts by the office of budget responsibility who are invariably wrong as there are too many moving parts at any one time to make a sound estimate. Secondly they themselves said over half of this is due to inflation

" real household disposable income was £1,500 a year lower than the Office for Budget Responsibility’s pre-referendum forecast – with over half of this income hit due to higher than forecast inflation. "

I'm assuming you're a Brit and don't get it. Blackface AND the KKK. Even back then. Just as bad as it is now. That's nuclear level racism and the man was well into adulthood. It doesn't matter if he wore either of the costumes. He clearly approved it to be published with his yearbook section. Also he clearly knew about it and decided to just hope it never surfaced while pursuing a political career. That doesn't show the character of a good leader. I realize the current U.S. president has the lowest character of any president ever, but the idea now is turn in a direction where character matters again for high level office holders.

Yes, I am a Brit and we had a Royal who dressed up in a Nazi uniform!! Beat that! Racism is just as prevalent here as it is over the pond but he would get less shit if he had killed someone. I realise Racism is a serious issue and he should rightly be condemned for it but can anyone one of us really say we haven't done something in our life that we are ashamed of? We're all quick to be sanctimonious whilst being Hypocritical when judging others.

"No jobs are expected to be lost." - Well that's a relief!

the fact is that before Brexit the British motor industry was on the up and up......Nissan, even after a bribe along with virtually ALL the UK motor industry are now looking to contract or relocate - "No jobs are expected to be lost." indeed! ... and see how long that prospect

    holds....

According to Wiki (and I do take this with a pinch of salt)

In 2008 the UK automotive manufacturing sector had a turnover of £52.5 billion, generated £26.6 billion of exports and produced around 1.45 million passenger vehicles and 203,000 commercial vehicles.[1] In that year around 180,000 people were directly employed in automotive manufacturing in the UK, with a further 640,000 people employed in automotive supply, retail and servicing.[1] This declined to 147,000 including supply industry in 2014 (-18%)[2] The UK is a major centre for engine manufacturing and in 2008 around 3.16 million engines were produced in the country.[1] The UK has a significant presence in auto racing and the UK motorsport industry currently employs around 38,500 people, comprises around 4,500 companies and has an annual turnover of around £6 billion.[3]
