Your statement that you had seen all the good movies is not pretending expertise in cinema but mine quoting awards of two of the best directors in the business is?
Just because something has an 'award' it doesn't mean that it's actually any good - most, but not all of the Oscars are boring.
Haven't got the time, or indeed the inclination to, list them: you'd just parrot "subjective!" or something else to prove that you're a film buff.
Enjoy your day.

When I was up at Cambridge in the late 70s what you refer to as "spring onions" were always on the menu for Hall as "scallions". "Spring onions" is simply a vulgarism. This is just one rare example of the Americans' not being more vulgar than the common British.
Does Cambridge even know which end of the punt to stand on?

You have no idea as to my tastes in movies, so calling my values narrow just shows ignorance on your part, something that is displayed often in your posts.
Yes, his post was somewhat rude.

Which is not what the thread is about.
It's about the corrupt and/or incompetent mess that people make of other peoples cuisines.
Like the grey, overcooked, stewed sludge I've seen many Brits proudly present as stir fried vegetables in oyster sauce.
Oh please forgive me..
There's no need to be snitty, this thread is in the Farang Pub. Ok na?

Bit like the bloomin' french calling Chips "pommes frites" - & as for the Americans....
What do they call Spring Onions, those lovely little alliums, with such a gentle taste?
Scallions!
Sounds like a battleship part.

Thats sad and inhuman.
Maybe.
But perhaps they are making sure it's all genuine; too many marriage scams in the world.
When we got married, I did find all the faffing around tiresome, but it was worth it.
On the other hand, it gives the various departments plenty of 'work' shuffling documents around....

People who want drugs get drugs.
The penalties:
1) Destroy lives more than the drugs do.
2) Make fortunes for the sellers as it inflates the price.
3) Make fortunes for the LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) industry.
4) Do nothing to prevent people from getting drugs.
Read about drug availability in prison.
If it's widely available there, it's available everywhere.
Doesn't answer my question though.
Why does it appear that Portugal has suddenly stopped addiction?

The drug policy in Portugal certainly seems to be effective.
Just can't understand why decriminalisation has reduced the number of addicts. The won't have all suddenly wanted to get clean, as with all addictions, you use one's d.o.c. for a reason.
Any ideas?

I agree with everything you say, it was disgusting.
Concerned about your use of Toxic masculinity though; do you think there's a toxic patriarchy too?

21% every year. About 30 million LGBT farang. Only 6 million per year. You say no problem.
Ok. Up to you.
No, it means 21% of the LGBT, not total UK population.
