  1. Well the air quality is a lot better today than in the past days. Amazing feat by the government to fix this so quickly. It must be very hard to arrange 50km/h strong wind to blow the dust away. Wonder how they've achieved that! Sarcasm off.
  2. At 10 am, MRT blue line from Hualumpong to Chatuchak park broke down. Unsure if it's fixed by now, but if you are going from south to north, from Hualumpong towards Bang Sue, it might not be running.
  3. Where's misleading part? He called Danish Prime Minister, he was "aggressive and conflicting", threatening with tariffs and military action if Denmark refuses to hand over Greenland. Now Germany and France got involved: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/08/france-warns-trump-against-threatening-eu-sovereign-borders-greenland There's nothing misleading about the headline.
  4. I always stock up during rainy season when air is good. Plenty of stock and much lower prices.
  5. I am sure someone said something similar about their technological advancements 20-30 years back.... And don't ever look at China as a socialist or communist state. They are the worst example of turbo capitalism, hiding behind communist mask.
  6. And despite starting from first position, US is already falling aside... So possibly too little, too late. https://www.ft.com/content/747a7b11-dcba-4aa5-8d25-403f56216d7e DeepSeek, founded by hedge fund manager Liang Wenfeng, released its R1 model on Monday, explaining in a detailed paper how to build a large language model on a bootstrapped budget that can automatically learn and improve itself without human supervision. The challenge of this is that DeepSeek only uses below 5% of resources large AI players in US do, and that it gives it away for free, rather than 200$/month OpenAI charges. This puts expectations of making large returns on investment in US-based AI field on thin ice. One also needs to remember that OpenAI loses amounted to $5 billion in 2024 and are increasing due to "high usage" of their paid plans, which cost them a lot more to run than $200/month customers are paying for it. It is expected OpenAI to suffer losses of over $14 billion by 2026. Hence for users, DeepSeek seems a clear winner, just don't ask it anything about China. For investors, though... now that Wenfeng opened the Pandora box and told everyone how to build a model that beats OpenAI at a fraction of cost... to me this is like a Linux moment. Let's see what comes out of this but I think US is bound to lose supremacy battle, with or without the $500 billion from Japanese, which they don't have anyway.
  7. Went to The Mall yesterday. Traffic was worse than before free public transport, and shopping mall was full of people buying air purifiers... Even most expensive models were going out the door which I honestly haven't seen before... But the cheaper, standard models... all sold out.
  8. Number 4 in the World? Number FOUR?! That's disgusting! Put the efforts of all farmers together and make it Number 1!
  9. Come on... seriously now. This isn't even enforced inside Bangkok, let alone anywhere else. This was taken 2 minutes ago... That's not the only smoke seen around here. Just no intent on staying outside on balcony longer, holding breath...
  10. So basically you're completely in love with your president and your country, but not enough to actually live there? Or can't afford to live there?
  11. Maybe they should consider equipping every visitor with a GPS-enabled ankle monitor!
  12. I think with so many Trump's lovers here, will this forum empty out after they move back to the States?
  13. You totally don't get it. Hitler was a painter. This meant - up to here grey, then from here up to ceiling paint it white...
  14. Of course! Didn't you hear the World ended in December of 2012? That's prehistoric!
  15. A British tourist shared a few photos of this French man's accommodation for the next few years...
  16. Which makes perfect sense for the usage of cars in Australia. EV cars are in close to first generation and technology to make them practical for such use is still years away. But if you think back - first generation of most products was garbage. It wasn't for everyone. But those who embraced it have financed improvements which then made them practical for the masses. No direct pollution vehicles are likely going to be the same, especially in places that suffer from severe air pollution.
  17. Can't do much about the first one but don't tell me nothing can be done about the second one?!
  18. Phyathai 1 in Pratunam. Never had such a case, inpatient or outpatient over 20 years of using them.
  19. Are you also waiting for the hose with a mask on to plug in the exhaust and put on your face to enjoy the smell of burning Diesel?
  20. This may change Trump's mind on invading Greenland...
  21. If that's what you're interested in... Just a strange way to announce your orientation in a public forum like this...
  22. Be careful what you wish for or this forum could be empty soon... or rather filled with b***hing from abroad...
  23. Then let me make it worse...
