A bank is threatening to close an account and people advise them to commit fraud to fix the issue. Unbelievable. I would contact the bank and ask if it is ok to use a family members address as a correspondence address in the UK. If the issue is purely that they are not a permanent resident in the UK look into offshore banks.

I have a Makro card. Keep up.
-
Why? I have a card so it doesn't concern me any more.

Nakhon Pathom. Originally you could just shop with no problem. They then started to require a slip of paper with a number on to be shown at checkout. Maybe they were having issues with other peoples card details being used to acquire reward points when non members went through checkout. Nothing to do with foreigners, non member Thais needed one as well.

At my local Makro if you do not have a card you have to give your details (driving licence) at the customer desk and get a slip of paper with a code number. When you get to checkout they use that code for the till. I got a card to save the bother of the customer desk and slip of paper for every visit.

Thank you. That is what he was describing.

I visited the Bangkok Hospital in Nakhon Phatom today and the doctor gave me a referal letter and suggested Samitivej hospital. He said there were two departments, the full private hospital side and a university type hospital side. I have Googled Samitivej and found out there are several in Bangkok. He said it was Nakhon Pathom side of the Chao Phraya river which would be Samitivej Thon Buri. Does anyone have any information on this hospital such as it having private and university departments, cost, service etc.?

PEA receipt posted to house for bank debit bill payment.
alanrchase replied to alanrchase's topic in General Topics
A quick update. I received a receipt in the post today for December's bill, bit strange as the direct debit payment started with the January bill. Anyway, it seems my PEA does post receipts but they are a month or so behind. Thanks for the replies. -
UK Passport Renewal --documents required

I used a recent letter from a UK bank as proof of address. If your ATM card is also a debit card you can use that to pay. -
PEA receipt posted to house for bank debit bill payment.

The receipt and tax invoice on the app have no details for how the bill was paid, the only information on them is the name from the blue house book. With internet payment the receipt was with the next months bill printed by the man reading the meter. The top half was the current months bill and the bottom half was the receipt for the previous month's payment, however, no information on who paid the bill. Generally banks etc. will not accept anything printed from the internet as proof of address anyway. -
PEA receipt posted to house for bank debit bill payment.
alanrchase posted a topic in General Topics
Several years ago I paid the PEA bill by direct debit and would get a receipt in the post every month that had my name on as the person paying the bill. This was handy as an acceptable proof of address for my foreign banks. I changed the payment method to internet banking a few years ago using the PEA app and receipts can be downloaded from the app. Last month I changed back to the direct debit method as I require the receipt posted to my house again. However, it is now two weeks since the bill was paid and I have not received a receipt. Does the PEA still post receipts to your house for direct debit payments or have they gone paperless? If needed can you request a receipt be posted to your house? -
How do you manage to get good long lasting batteries?
alanrchase replied to In Full Agreement's topic in General Topics
Chargers for cordless power tool battery packs will not recharge a pack that has dropped below a certain voltage for safety reasons. Pack may catch fire. Bypassing the charger and directly supplying a charging voltage to the pack can raise the voltage enough for the charger to then accept the pack for charging. However if the Li-ion are truly flat there is nothing you can do to bring them back. -
Not true. You can get points added to your licence with a fixed penalty fine.

I was out in my car driving at night for the first time in ages yesterday. The number of motorcycles with no lights was ridiculous and reminded me why I avoid night time driving as much as possible. -

They have sold you a bike but are they going to register it? -
Type Hua Hin Fishing Pier into Google maps and it comes up. No idea about other places other than the breakwaters at the north end of Cha Am.

Rechargeable battery for shaver...where in Pattaya?
alanrchase replied to thoengthaied's topic in Pattaya
You use a li-ion spot welder. I replace the batteries in my cordless tool battery packs using one. My hedge trimmer now runs for 90 minutes on one battery pack instead of the 20 minutes it ran for on the original batteries. Are you thinking spot welders for assembling cars? -
Rechargeable battery for shaver...where in Pattaya?
alanrchase replied to thoengthaied's topic in Pattaya
What is your point? The original battery is li-ion and the replacement will be li-ion. Laptops and cordless tools all use li-ion batteries. Once in a blue moon there is an issue. As for spot welding that is the standard method used for assembly of li-ion battery packs. Soldering directly onto the battery is considered dangerous. -
Rechargeable battery for shaver...where in Pattaya?

Why? The description of the battery on Lazada says it is a 14500 (AA) li-ion battery. -

The battery is a 14500 li-ion with special end terminals. Typical "you can only use our expensive battery" policy. I would get a normal 14500 battery for 50- 100 baht, spot weld some tabs on it and solder it in. A TV repair shop would probably do it for 100 baht. -
Why don't you give the full details of how your order progressed? Everyone is having to guess what exactly happened. The seller was local or overseas? You placed your order COD and clicked the confirm tab in the sellers chat page? Your order showed on your account page as to pack? Did the seller pack the item and hand it to the delivery partner? If so who which delivery partner was it? Did the item progress through first mile, last mile and out for delivery? When did the delivery take place? Before the item was logged as shipped?

I had something that may be similar to the OP several months ago. I ordered some brand name safety boots that were about half price. Tracking said seller had packed the item but Lazada cancelled the order, as they always do, when the seller failed to hand the item over to the shipper by the estimated delivery date. Two days later a delivery guy turns up with an item which turned out to be my order. One look at the package told me it didn't contain the item I ordered so I refused to accept delivery. As it was a COD order I wasn't out of pocket and didn't have to try for a refund. Went back and checked the seller's store, no ratings and every item in the store was priced at 350 baht. If I had accepted the item I could hardly blame Lazada as they had informed me via the tracking that the order was cancelled.
