I would Do Anything for Thais, but I Won't Do THAT!
alanrchase replied to 2long's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
When people stop by on the odd occasion I have no problem offering food and drink if we are eating and drinking at the time. I do have a problem when the wife constantly prepares enough food to feed an army just in case someone pops round and with the people who regularly appear just after food and drink is placed on the table. -
Quick look on the internet suggests it's quite common elsewhere. Brake failures and other brake problems on tractor-trailers and other large trucks contribute to many catastrophic collisions on the road. A Department of Transportation study shows that 29 percent of all large truck crashes in the U.S. involve brake failures, brakes out of adjustment or other brake-related issues. In fact, brake failures only cause about 5% of the car crashes in the US every year. Of course, there are 5.6 million car crashes in America every year, so brake failure accounts for about about 300,000 crashes per year.Jul 20, 2564 BE https://ohiotiger.com

Indian actress Vanitha Vijayakumar denied entry in Thailand
alanrchase replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Hardly international. She is apparently a star in India so no surprise that the account she posted on social media made it into an Indian news article. The story involves a person with some fame and Thailand so no surprise it has been reported here. -

I agree. I was just pointing out that the story exists because she took to social media and not because any journalist may have an agenda. -

The story seems to exist because she "took to her social media" to report it. -
This may help.

Renew UK Passport. Where to park the car?
alanrchase replied to PFMills's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I parked in BigC On Nut and took the Skytrain. Free parking and convenient as I get into Bangkok via Rama IV. -
I posted a letter to my UK bank on the 14th of Ocrober, registered mail. It took 2 days to leave Thailand, 5 more days to arrive in UK, spent 4 days in customs and then arrived at the destination town. It has been at the destination town for 3 days and has not been delivered yet. A delivery attempt was made yesterday (to a bank) at 7am, surprise surprise no one was in. We will see what today brings.

It's my understanding that the positive ATK test people then get a PCR test to confirm the result and then are added to the daily figure. If you add PCR and ATK figures people will be getting counted twice.

Difference between 91 and 95 fuel
alanrchase replied to RickG16's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
My motorbike will take 91 (E10), 95 (E10)(E20). Went to a station yesterday and they had no 91 pumps. The 91 pumps seem to have been replaced by E20 pumps. The E20 is on a green rectangle. Is the E20 95 or 91? -
The Bangkok River Level Thread - Please post your river level photos
alanrchase replied to Crossy's topic in Bangkok
The Pa Sak Cholasit Dam in Lopburi/Saraburi has been above 100% capacity for several days now which is forcing them to release at least as much water as is flowing in. If there was massive rainfall in that area last night they may have no choice but to increase the outflow further. -

Medpark Pfizer Experience August 10.
alanrchase replied to Chomper Higgot's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Reading this it appears there is no longer an appointment system. I am due on the 12th at 12.30 but it seems I may as well turn up at 07.30?
