Electric Vehicles in Thailand
Same idea. There will definitely be some waiting, but I think something with the Blade 2 battery will come out in 2027, if not even earlier. In any case, the competition is there. They can’t stop the progress.

This news looks pretty important: https://carnewschina.com/2026/03/06/byd-fires-1500-kw-shot-abroad-overseas-flash-charging-starts-end-2026/ If BYD really plans to start rolling out ultra-fast charging locations overseas from late 2026, then it likely also means they will begin updating their vehicles with battery systems capable of fully taking advantage of that kind of charging speed. The pace of technological progress is getting faster and faster. What seemed unrealistic not long ago is starting to look like the next real step in EV development.

At this point, in light of the upcoming BYD ATTO 3, the rest of the competition will have to improve their products very quickly — otherwise there won’t be any real competition left.

I really like the Zeekr 7X too, but the idea of buying something that’s already “old” because China already has the updated version bothers me a bit. The problem is that maybe next year, when the updated model finally arrives in Thailand, China will release another update again, haha… So for now I’ll wait a bit more.

https://carnewschina.com/2025/11/08/updated-byd-atto-3-will-have-650-km-range-with-74-880-kwh-blade-battery-pack/ Update on the Atto 3 — I believe that after the recent price war, the next trend will be to increase power and battery capacity while keeping the price at the same level.

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Any news on the tax changes for remittance in Thailand? It seemed like it was already a done deal, but with the current political issues, maybe it has stalled. Not sure.

Just to point out, the IM6 in China is actually called the LS6 and it was updated recently. Basically, here in Thailand we still have the previous version. The update in China also introduced an EREV version, much more luxurious interiors, and several other improvements. Another very interesting point, which may have gone unnoticed, is that Zeekr will soon start assembling cars in Malaysia. Once this is up and running, maybe we will see more competitive pricing. And on top of that, within the next year we’ll see updates across various models from many brands, along with new market entries – so we definitely won’t be getting bored.

Mail delivery issues in Huai Yai?
Just a quick update. I had ordered something and the seller shipped it via Thai Post. I received the tracking number and found the official Thai Post account on LINE. After adding the code, it automatically sent me updates every time the package changed location. The parcel first left Bangkok, then passed through Sri Racha. After that, it showed up in Banglamung (Naklua Post Office). From there it quickly went out for delivery, and within about 3–4 hours I had it in my hands.

Your dog is very cute! I also have two dogs. The post office you go to — is it the one near the floating market? And do you go around to the left side, in the back, where the Huai Yai office is located? Thanks for the info!

new price for Omoda c5 https://www.car250.com/omoda-c5-ev-2025-15-4.html With the new Jaecoo and Omoda prices, small EVs are becoming less attractive. For almost the same money, you can now step up to a higher-segment vehicle

Mail delivery issues in Huai Yai?
Thanks everyone for the info. I’ll try to better understand how the local postal system works. For now, one registered parcel stopped at Banglamung (Naklua Post Office) and was never delivered to me—it ended up being sent back because I didn’t manage to pick it up in time. Luckily it wasn’t anything important, but clearly these situations can cause unpleasant inconveniences. Regular mail still hasn’t arrived, but I’ll see what happens in the next few days. In any case, I can confirm that at the Chaiyapruek Post Office (the one in front of the Floating Market) there’s a separate counter dedicated to Huai Yai. However, for example, my parcel never made it there—it stopped earlier at Banglamung (Naklua). Maybe it also depends on whether it’s a normal parcel, registered mail, EMS, or regular post—each might follow a different route, but I am not sure

Mail delivery issues in Huai Yai?
Hi everyone, I recently moved to Huai Yai and I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the mail service here. Do you actually receive letters? It seems like I’m not getting anything at all. The latest issue was with a registered letter that is now being sent back. I realized too late, but I never even found a slip/notice to be able to pick it up at the post office.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
I was just thinking about how much things have changed with EVs in the last couple of years. Prices have been dropping, and they’re still going down, but it’s not just about the price anymore. You also get way more features now — bigger batteries, faster charging, better tech all around. Like, two years ago, the idea of a 100 kWh battery running on 800V in a 1.5M THB car would’ve sounded crazy, but now it’s real. So it makes me wonder… what’s going to happen in another two years? That’s kind of why I keep delaying my purchase. I get that people might say, “yeah but then you never enjoy the car,” which is true, but with the pace of these updates it feels like you’d buy one today and already want to replace it in a couple of years. Does anyone else feel the same way?
