technically it is 'exerting energy' that needs a work permit. So the next time you pick your nose, make sure you have a work permit.
The definition is so broad that it catches everything. Mowing your lawn, washing your car, installing a new light bulb etc.
It is up to the officer to make that decision but technically any 'exertion of energy' is considered work that needs a work permit.
It is ridiculous and that is why it is not really enforced for someone who is painting their own house etc.
If an angry neighbor (or even worse a competitor) however wants to make problems for you then it can become a real problem.
I have painted many houses and walls. I get my kids and wife to help me. The work gets done faster and it is then not only you working which can be seen as real work.
On that basis walking should also need a work permit as you exert energy. I can see where you are going on this but there has to be a limit as my rather silly example illustrates

If you read a little more in the topic you will find he wants to open the account in preparation for a visa/extension of stay and is preparing to register his marriage.
Preparation is one thing I agree but it reads that he was applying for a visa based on marriage. Getting things together for it is fine I would not disagree with that, preparation goes a long way to easing the path

In places like Pattaya, Soi Cowboy etc the norm is to get as plastered as you can. Big drinking capacity for small brained people
-
You say you took your Fiance with you but are applying for a visa based on marriage. How does that work as you are not yet, according to your post, actually married?

It seems the neighbour enters the apartment without being invited. How do they get into the apartment? It could also be a case of breaking and entering if previous permission has not been given by the occupant

He wrote he was on overstay. It only requires an overstay that is more than 90 days to get a one year ban.
Perhaps read the rules here. New overstay rules.pdf
I know what they are but 90 is not being mistaken by a day or two is it
-
Maybe I missed it but I didn't read why he was blacklisted for a year. Presumably he overstayed by a significant amount of time.
Be interesting to know how this all came about

Becuase the Immigration specifically ask you to get a stamp from the Brittish Embassy, any other legal path is useless. You need to personally go to the Brittish Embassy and plead for them to put a stamp on the document. Just because they say something on their website does not necessarily prevent them from having a bit of humanity, understanding, and compassion.
You are talking about the British Embassy aren't you or has the topic changed?

Not so sure about that my Canon ink printer was cheap to buy , but replacing the ink cartridges is very expensive, 100 pages of ink is not cheap .
You usually get ink for 500 pages when you buy a new printer

You don't have a car you coukd use to take him to school?

Buy a cheap printer it will pay for itself in the long run

We see all these issues because Thailand doesn't want working illegally and I have no problem with that but wouldn't it be better to clamp down on the companies that hire them? If no one will hire you to work illegally then it wouldn't matter how many tourist visas you have in your passport. I guess that is too much to ask though

I can get a new one, or a new passport from a different country.
The question is will they know I am the same person? I do not mind changing my name on a different country passport (or the same country). How sophisticate are they anyway?
If I try to cross from a land border what is the worst that they can do if they find out?
This all sounds very illegal when you talk about changing your name in a different country. To be honest I would be doubtful of letting you back in the country 10 years from now with the suggestions you are considering.
Why were you on overstay to start with and please don't say you forgot no one will believe that

Not before she has acquired the right to work she can't. See this page:-
https://www.gov.uk/apply-national-insurance-number
In your wife's case her right to work was consequent on her settlement visa.
Agreed
-
if he can get her a NI number then she can work. NI is a National Insurance number just for the record. I got my wife one but that was a few years ago so the rules may have changed but it was on a settlement visa.

Never really had a problem with the taxis. Having said that I do tend to tell them my destination in Thai which does help a lot. Trouble is anyone can be a taxi driver with no real knowledge of the city.
In the UK they drivers spend something like 5 years training before they get a full cabbie license. I am referring to the black cab taxis

Had to claim for a my fault accident ladt year no other vehicle involved. Cost of repairs was 38k. This year insurance no change in premium. Rang and asked them if it was correct due to claim. Yes correct anything under 40k we dont count towards no claims loss. So i will stay with them 9.5 k first class with first 5k down to me nation wide breakdown an extra 1.5k if bought at same time.
Irrespective how much a repair costs, if it was the other drivers fault it shoukd not come off you no claims bonus. Having said that insurance comoanies in Thailand do not understand risk management

I have lived here to long to have expectations or wishes
This is Thailand, not some politically correct country, something you don't seem to understand
I suggest you have no concept of the real world and before trying to lecture to others I suggest you get a little information instead of trying to be so silly in your response.
I have also live here for years, maybe longer than you and I have lived in other countries around the world. Unfortunately you may not like what I say but it is a fact.
1 minute ago, Aditi Sharma said:Point taken, Sir. The Thais are not political at all and I am not interested in their politics either. I am merely making a list of demands on behalf of tourists to make changes in visa policy.
Good luck with your demands but to be honest I can not see them being considered by those that would consider a proposal

Dream on India is not on the list get over it. There must be a good reason why its not. So instead of trying to get everyone in the same boat why not ask immigration as to why India is not included.
Possibly because Indians tend to bring everyone they know once they are settled in a country. Westerners dont do that. This could be why there are more Western counties on the list

The problem with a single entry tourist visa is that i will never stay more than 28 days... I work 28 on/28 off on an offshore platform in the Caspian Sea...
So that is not workable....
Of course it is workable. I assume you work on Kashagan. I worked there and I obtained a visa which I then applied for a re-entry permit. It can be done so it is workable
