Strange that anyone actually takes notice of another person's opinions. I never read what other people think

We see all these issues because Thailand doesn't want working illegally and I have no problem with that but wouldn't it be better to clamp down on the companies that hire them? If no one will hire you to work illegally then it wouldn't matter how many tourist visas you have in your passport. I guess that is too much to ask though

Harmless to humans but if they bit you at least a tetnus shot would be in order (when did you last see a snake brush its teeth?)

I have the 7+edge and it is brilliant. Best way to select is have a play with them all but my recommendation is the 7

It is long overdue for the Thais to be woken up to their polluting ways. Now that they are slowly becoming aware of the problem, it will be interesting to see what they actually start to do about it. Probably next to nothing for quite some time yet, I suspect.
They will stop foreigners getting plastic bags. That will solve the problem

In that case can we look forward to Yankland minding its own business globally or will they continue to interfere in the domestic affairs of dozens of countries?
Not a chance in hell, they love interfering in issues that have nothing to do with them
-
If the decision is right or wrong it has nothing to do with this Yank. It was decided by the British people. Sort out your own countries problems before poking your nose into things that are none of your business

I can get a new one, or a new passport from a different country.
The question is will they know I am the same person? I do not mind changing my name on a different country passport (or the same country). How sophisticate are they anyway?
If I try to cross from a land border what is the worst that they can do if they find out?
This all sounds very illegal when you talk about changing your name in a different country. To be honest I would be doubtful of letting you back in the country 10 years from now with the suggestions you are considering.
Why were you on overstay to start with and please don't say you forgot no one will believe that

As a lawyer friend recently told me Thai's (and this friend is Thai) lie about everything it is in their make up.
I doubt if they even realise they are doing it.

Not before she has acquired the right to work she can't. See this page:-

In your wife's case her right to work was consequent on her settlement visa.
Agreed
-
if he can get her a NI number then she can work. NI is a National Insurance number just for the record. I got my wife one but that was a few years ago so the rules may have changed but it was on a settlement visa.

A statement! guess my 42 years in the O&G industry doesn't count, drilled many wells that PTT have had "part" off!
Compare PTT to Conoco Philips and PTT are Big! they are only seven places away from Chevron.
The "7" sisters? where have you been? there have only been three sisters for many years now! 3 of the top seven now are new kids on the block, Chinese!
Of course your opinion counts especially with PTT experience. You still have the major players no matter what you call them and you know it

I have sent into Thailand in a single transfer Bht 6,000,000 and never had a problem

They are.
PTTEP the Exploration and Production branch of PTT owns contracts for oilfields Worldwide including in Australia and Brazil.
Small by comparison to the major players. They are definitely not part of the 7 sisters

There not so small! there no Sinopec or Aramco but in the top 25 in the world for sure,
Compare them to Shell, BP, Chevron and Exxon and they are small.
Obviously you don't work in the Oil & Gas industry, I do

They are a typical "state oil company" who inherited most of what they own, even so they are not a 'small" player with billions a year in income, must be about the largest tax payer in Thailand?
In Thailand they are not small within the Oil & Gas industry they are.

PTT thinking they are a major player in the industry sad really
