It doesn't matter what other countries do, it matters what the LOS Guv does to prevent dodgy plates. As I said, plates without the Guv stamp are illegal and will have a prob with the BiB..
What they do does not necessarily make it sensible.

The guv issued plates have Guv seal logo pressed into the corner of the plate so naughty folk can't fabricate their own for naughty purposes. A plate without the logo is illegal.
A main agent has employees that "could" fabricate dodgy plates on the side...
Yes that us always possible but so is the fabrication of a new number by anyone who has the facilities to do it. In your home country who makes the number plates? The number comes from the authorities but the actual making of the plate come from where?

The difference might be that the falang gets put in jail until his friends or family can send the 100,000 baht.
Now that will be good publicity for Thailand's tourist industry. If nothing else it will support the phrase "Amazing Thailand"

I think you forget that you're in Thailand. Giving permission for private companies to make up licence plates is a recipe for disaster.
We are talking about the main dealers here not a a second hand wheeler dealer.

Excellent work

Not stupid at all. The dealers nor anyone else can make plates.
The only plates on any vehicle are issued by the government and are embossed with a governent stamp. Any other plate you get made is illegal.
Of course it is stupid. There is no necessity for the government to make the plate they can issue a registration number and have the showroom make up the plates. That is what happens in the UK. You don't wait for weeks to get the plate from the government

What Thai is going to be able to cough up (pun intended) 100,000 baht fine for smoking? This outrageous fine is obviously aimed at the tourist market, as if they aren't doing enough already to deter tourists.
Think about this, if tourists don't come then the Thai people will really be cut off from the world and control will be ultimate
-
The grab rider was fined first why? He dies a job and a couple of morons don't like it. I wonder how much the morons were fined if anything

I counted 4 photos of the woman, all with her head and arms covered and in all 4 photos she isn t making eye contact.
If you didn t see four photos on the first page of this topics it says a lot about you.
I did see them but a photo is just a very small slice of time. You need to get a touch of reality before jumping to conclusions

There are no 'human rights' in Thailand, not for anyone who's not Thai anyway.
You mean not for anyone who is not Thai and rich

A. I may not be your friend but I identify as you being my friend.
B. I was applying tested and commonly used police principals of judging body language. Body language is based on appearance.
C. Share your words with me, when you hold it in it is like cancer, leprosy or aids, in that anger eats away at you
Best wishes
Trouble is you are judging her based on a single photo which is ridiculous but if you feel it is correct to do so then it says a lot about you

I'll touch on it but others may know more or if I'm correct & Transam just beat me but I will add
1 - Yes red plates mean the vehicle isn't registered in your name yet due to making of plates (thats why some people had kept the red ones longer to make it look like the car was a year less than it is )
2 - I would think the plates also provide a restriction on insurance whilst waiting to swap them - Restricting to daylight hrs & Province
3 - You are able to leave the Province but must fill in the book they provided you with the red plates
PS - Apparently it is a 10,000 bht fine if they are not swapped in 30? or 60 days for you
And most times you do not get the proper plate within 30 days. It is stupid to have to get temporary plates when the car showroom could make then while you wait.

The son arrives drunk and tosses stuff about, the police are called but do not show
up. The son pours gas about the place where there are other people at as well.
What else could the dad do? Continue to wait for the police and watch the drunken son
torch the place. In my opinion he did what he thought was necessary and probably saved
lives, Son got his just desserts.
Geezer
Maybe if the police had done the job they are paid for the ending would have been totally different

Not so sure about that my Canon ink printer was cheap to buy , but replacing the ink cartridges is very expensive, 100 pages of ink is not cheap .
You usually get ink for 500 pages when you buy a new printer

Why should anyone tolerate people who make a noise? They should behave better or move to a zoo.
And what could anyone possibly not like about living near me? I make no noise, I have no visitors, I dont smell or leave crap on the hallways, I dont leave my doors open all the time, I dont go in and out at strange hours .....
In fact no one would even know that I'm in the building unless they saw my lights on.Your overall attitude for one thing. I don't like it and I don't even know you

Why? Noisy transient people are a pain in the backside in a residential building and should be banished.
Transients belong in hotels and apartments, not in condos. Condos are for long-term living.
I would suggest you adopt a more open attitude. If they are keeping you awake every night then complain to the management otherwise let them be. Maybe they don't like you being next to them ever thought of that?
Immigration asking impossible! UK Embassy won't certify birth cert
