  1. It must be said you have given such a good impression of this fair I am sure lots of other people would also like to attend. They could google where to find it or you could have let people know where it is. Or do you think everyone knows where Pattana school is ?

    Google is your friend

  2. So with this METV once you have it!

You can stay for 6 months, enter and re enter as often as you like but must leave every 60 days?

Do we know if the 60 days can be extended by 30 days like old TV? Thus would make it similar to old multi 60 day TV albeit can only be obtained in home country.

    Cheers

I have just received my single entry tourist visa from the Thai embassy in London. I ordered a double entry, but I got a phone call from them, telling me that they will no longer supply multi entry. No reason was given for the change in the rules.

I think this could be to do with Paris, could be temporary.

Has anyone had similar problems in the U.K.?

Has nothing to do with Paris. Why would it ?

Double and triple entry tourist visas were discontinued when the METV was launched

  3. It would be interested to know peoples opinion:

If you were planning on using the METV for continual 6 months stay, would you choose to use:

    2 entries+2 extensions+ 1 visa run

    OR

    3 visa runs (no extensions)

By my calculations it would work out just as easy to 3 visa runs, but maybe i am overlooking something?

Depends how close to the port of entry you are -- no big deal to do 3 entries if you live in Nong Khai.
I honestly can not imagine being on holiday (i.e. a tourist) for 60 days in any 1 country & can't remember the last time I stayed in one for 30 days, never mind 60 or 90... Why would you travel all the way from US, UK etc... & then not visit Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Philippines... Etc... Etc...

(IMHO) a genuine tourist would be looking to maximize their time in the region & visit as many other places/countries as they can, E.g when my parents come to visit me in Singapore, there's always a "side trip" to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand etc... & not for "Visa reasons" (Brits get 90 days in Singapore) but because they've travelled all this way & it would be a shame not to visit/experience different places.

I travel from the Uk every year and only leave Thailand to activate another visa entry.

It takes me 24 hours from I leave home until I arrive in my hotel room

That is more than enough traveling for me.

I have no interest in a side trip

  4. Sorry you are wrong, presumably you paid the company/person in China?

In that case its their responsibility not yours. They paid the postal service to provide a service to deliver it to you, they havnt done that.

This is the "sellers" responsibility and the post office will tell you that the "sender" has to make the complaint etc not the "receiver".

From your point of view its a simple "goods not received". This is the sellers problem.

It is not a simple "goods not received"

The item has been signed for. paypal and ebay both except that as proof of delivery

  5. because your home country is governed by morons you expect thailand to follow suit? Real countries dont allow just any young guy to come in and stay as long as he likes whether you understand their reasoning or not. Live with it.

Well, I think the way most European countries are handling immigration at the moment is far from rational and I am definitely against unregulated immigration. But what is wrong with people moving in who have the means to live and contribute to the economy?

In most "real" countries, you can move in and register as a self-employed person, which you cannot do in Thailand. In "real" countries, you can register a business as a foreigner without ridiculous limitations. I wonder where you come from yourself?

Name some " Real countries "

  6. Thousands of foreigners living here permanently, without proper funds, using Non-Imm O visas/extensions.

They should be kicked out too?

Evidence for that assertion can be found where ?

All over this forum, where people who say they don't have the money for a Non-O Marriage visa are directed to run to Savanahket for a Multi. I am glad this "loophole" allows their families to stay together, and would guess many more will now be getting married to use this, until the avenue is closed.

At that point, I assume they will head for the loan-shark / brokers, given their choices will be:

    1. Abandon your family.

    2. Take a dodgy loan to meet immigration requirements.

The METV will force similar "line-of-credit" solutions for many - though not in Thai jurisdiction, so not illegal.

    It is not a loophole

You have a choice of a single entry or multiple entry non O based on marriage.

Money is only needed for a 12 month extension of stay
