  1. Rwanda, Bibby Stockholm - I think only the most blinkered would not look at the performance of the UK government and shake their heads in disbelief. It's nothing to do with political bias and everything to do with the seemingly endless series of gaffes that this government of mediocre, talentless post-turtles creates.
  2. Ignore the medium if you must - but the facts remain that the government took 4 days to take action.
  3. You are the one cheering on the villains in the piece. If you want the nasty party to get back into government, by default you are ok with the degradation of standards that their policies have caused across the UK.
  4. My favourite government tweet - definitely the most accurate.
  5. No, the government knew about it for 4 days before they took action. Contractors told about legionella on day asylum seekers boarded barge
  6. What is it about rising levels of inequality, record levels of child poverty, record numbers of working people having to use food banks, that makes you so happy?
  7. David Davies says that the UK government is showing startling incompetence in the disastrous commissioning of the Bibby Stockholm. I disagree. There is nothing startling about it at all. Anyone with an ounce of wits could tell that anything and everything this shower is low grade grifters touches turns to custard. They are only good at graft and low-level fascism. Bibby Stockholm evacuation shows 'startling incompetence'
  8. Is it the type of device that gives you a unique number that you require to log into your account? I may be wrong but I think that those devices are unique to you so if you use device issued to another person, the number generated will be wrong.
  9. Context is everything - I presume you inadvertantly forgot to mention that her tweet was in direct response to Lee Anderson's repulsive interview where he told migrants to "f--- off". Fresh from his anti Semitic 'training', it would seem that 30p Lee needs some further tax payer funded lessons on how to be a decent person. Lee Anderson tells moaning migrants to ‘f--- off back to France’
  10. Under maritime law, ships at sea have a legal obligation to help people in distress.
  11. The hackers had access to this register for 14 months? Heads must roll at both the Electoral Commission and in the government - clearly the home office dropped the ball massively. What a total failure of government.
  12. No, they are not my words. Why not try reading the source article?
  13. Absolutely no disingenuousness from me - it is you who is attempting to conflate the two very separate matters. You know perfectly well that it is not the presence of immigrants that prevents our ex servicemen from getting the support they need from our government. There is no choice between the two.
  14. Why do you want struggling ex military to live in sparse and austere accommodation? Do you not think that our government owes them more than that?
  15. Without wishing to diminish from the general picture of oppressiveness that you painted and with which I mostly agree, homosexuality is not a crime in Russia. That's not to say that the rights of the LGBT community are equal or protected, but same sex activities are not illegal per se.
  16. As @placeholder pointed out, you have nothing. You know that your party is both morally and intellectually bankrupt (or at least I presume you can see that for yourself) but rather than accept facts and address them, all you can do is point out imaginary threats elsewhere.
  17. Does the word Truss ring any bells? You create fantasy scenarios about Abbott in power but the Tories actually elected Truss to number 10. Tell me again and the relative trustworthiness of Tory members!
  18. And in denial of the party that elected Johnson and Truss.
  19. This thread is not about Germany - it's about the pessimism that experts have in regards to the near future of the UK economy. You can try to discredit those experts all you like, but the fact remains that their assessments are considered to be valuable.
  20. I am extremely confident that our corrupt government has given a ridiculously overpriced contract for the provision of a poor quality service at an overinflated price to one of their own. That's what corrupt governments do and that is what our corrupt Tory government has done in this case.
  21. Of course, the Bibby Stockholm is not all bad news. On the positive side, it provides the Tory government another route to do what they love to do - transfer taxpayers' money into the pockets of their friends and donors. Portland barge 'more expensive' than hotels for asylum seekers
  22. I'd imagine that the majority would happily stay at home if the west had not been instrumental in despoiling and destroying their homelands.
  23. In a better country the two issues would not be conflated.
  24. All going to Tory party plans - privatise the profits and leave the public to pay the costs. ‘The whole thing stinks’: water firms to pay £15bn to shareholders as customers foot sewage bill
  25. This thread is not about Scottish independence, although now you bring it up, can we all observe a moment of contemplative gratitude at the revival of North Sea oil? In 2014 we were reliably informed that all the oil was gone, but thanks to the UK government's efforts, they have found enough for 100 new licenses to propel the UK to energy independence. I guess they had misplaced them 9 years ago. The people of South East England rejoicing once again at the prospect of so much more Scottish money coming their way.
