Oh I wish I could find the tweet I saw earlier today where someone posted 4 of Nad's tweets over the years. The first was a blast at the Lib Dems, accusing them of stuffing the HoL with unqualified stooges. The second was a complaint about the power held by the HoL and it's lack of democracy. The third was a promise to fight to slim down the HoL because it was overstuffed with unelected and untalented peers. The last was her crying because the peerage she was promised isn't coming her way. The poor girl's been treated appallingly. Would bring a tear to a glass eye, so it would.

I know how you feel. My apartment was broken into when I was living in Russia - I wasn't home at the time but I still experienced all the emotions you are feeling, including doubting friends and the people closest to me. I was angry and paranoid for weeks afterwards, but then I made a decision to forgive whoever it was who did it. I still had no idea who it was, and how they knew my apartment was empty that night, but the cloud that had been hanging over me lifted almost instantly. I also beefed up the security of the place significantly - so a lesson learned, albeit the hard way.

Probably not - nobody is talking about it, nobody is suffering because of it, countless businesses haven't ceased trading because of it and the majority of the country doesn't agree that it was a massively self damaging exercise of epic stupidity. At least, that's the case if you refuse to accept reality.

As this thread is about Johnson crying that he has been criticised because of his selfish actions during COVID, and the outrage felt by those who feel his actions during the pandemic were unacceptable, it seems somewhat slavish that you would suggest he did well during it. Clearly those who have first hand experience of his failure are better placed to judge?

Peerages are, indeed, offered - but it looks like Dories reckons that she is entitled to one, which begs the question, just what has she done that makes her think that she deserves one. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jun/14/nadine-dorries-failure-to-resign-officially-as-mp-frustrates-sunaks-attempt-to-reset-tories?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

The SNP position on Nato is to apply for membership and join. What they might have thought in the past is irrelevant - all political parties transform and policies change. They don't want nuclear weapons - nor do I and the majority of Scots. If they are so important to the rest of the UK, let's stick them in elsewhere in the UK then. Oil and gas - Scotland has such an abundance of natural resources, including some of the most promising of renewable energy sites in Europe. In this climate emergency, we need sensible leaders to move us away from hydrocarbons. And best of all - we would be free of the parasite that has been bleeding us dry for 300+ years.

It's already cost us far too much by being out - we can't afford to stay out.

Sorry but I prefer not to click on far right click bait owned by tax avoiders. I must admit, though, that the link is funny. Might it be that rather than sinister forces being the reason she was sidelined, it could be that she has nothing to offer the country, and has she nothing to deserve such an 'honour'?
