  1. Have you checked on either Shopee or Lazada? It seems that most things can be found there.
  2. I read this blog post many years ago, and still turn to it now and again: Don’t Die With Your Music Still In You "...So what is the point of a life dedicated to the acquisition and protection of stuff? All of your money and possessions can be taken away from you by forces outside your control. "What are you truly risking if you go after your dreams? If your current lifestyle is unfulfilling, then you’re starting broke, no matter how much money you have." https://stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/01/dont-die-with-your-music-still-in-you/
  3. Why did you fail to attribute that text to its author? Theft of all sorts comes so naturally to the hard right.
  4. There is quite a few towns and cities in the Russian far east that could be described, today, as pigsties surrounded by a few huts. Imagine if all that money, all that potential, that Putin has wasted trying to convince the world that we should all live like Russians, was spent actually trying to improve the lives of Russians rather than in the destruction of things, maybe the present day pigsties would at least have indoor plumbing.
  5. I belived putin was a bad man before a single shot was fired in Ukraine. You, on the other hand, I don't recall you ever criticising him. As for the future, my faith in politicians tells me that garbage like putin, his cronies and their hideous spawn will still thrive on the misery of millions, and that my desire for true justice will be unfulfilled. I will, of course, pray that, one by one, they are removed from humanity but I am not expecting too much there - the world has too many corrupt supplicants for real justice to exist. As for you? I don't really care where your sentiments truly lie because what I have seen to date I find truly repulsive, so no need to fill me in.
  6. And they will still be around in 4 years, by which time the country will hopefully have come to its senses and the current POTUS will not have wreaked too much more damage at home and abroad.
  7. Quality, not quantity.
  8. True - it was previously part of Laurasia. I say give it, and all former territories of Laurasia back to the Laurasians. That includes the US, although I doubt any self respecting Laurasian would want it for at least another 4 years.
  9. I think most people recognise that Putin is the aggressor here, as he has been in so many assaults on freedom and democracy around the world for decades. It is not a case of 2 neighbours having a spat about a fence; there is a lot more at stake, and the notion that he could walk away from his brutal assault on a sovereign nation still holding a large part of it and dictating the terms for peace that would hobble that country and make it essentially his vassal state for years to come is beyond the pale. Putin must never be rehabilitated into international standing, and Russia must pay massively for their crimes. Trump wants to punish the abused and protect the abuser. That is what sticks in my craw.
  10. Why is it that insults come so readily to the perma angry who either refuse to accept what they are reading, or fail to understand it? The very reason that this is being proposed is because all things are currently NOT equal. Just to help you along, I will repeat that. The very reason that this is being proposed is because all things are currently NOT equal. The fact is that people from ethnic minorities tend to receive harsher sentences than white people who commit the same offences. This proposal is an attempt to make things equal. There, it wasn't so difficult, was it? Now go and look at some pretty flowers or eat some nice cake - try to drop that perma angry attitude for at least a minute or two.
  11. Which specific groups are mentioned? Can you identify the section of the guidance that says ethnicity should be considered?
  12. No - an attempt to remove racism from sentencing.
  13. Hey Chomps! Don't come around here with your nuance and attempt to show insight! If everyone practiced that, most threads on TV would be barren wastelands!
  14. It appears that he committed the offences after his claim for asylum, so not the same. And, as per the article, will be deported. So going back to the Caribbean woman's likely doomed attempt to appeal the court's order, is there no precedent you can find where trivial claims are upheld as the principal reason for original deportation rulings being overturned on appeal?
  15. Can you highlight any which are successful with such frivolous justifications?
  16. Why do you believe that her appeal will be successful? Her premise for her appeal are so weak as to be laughable - all she is most likely doing is throwing away her own money to delay the inevitable.
  17. I was referring to your link about the Caribbean woman. She is using her own money to launch an appeal against the ruling to deport her; an appeal that is likely to fail.
  18. Forget the individual in this case, and the crime he was eventually convicted of; is it right that people might be sacked in the event that unproven allegations are levelled against them? There are semi-regular cases of men being falsely accused of rape by people with malicious intent. Is it right that these men be sacked? I understand the frustration around a guilty person continuing to receive a salary after serious allegations are made about them, but for those who are innocent the effect of not only being falsely accused but also losing their employment could be devastating.
  19. She has not been given permission to stay in the UK. Her request to stay was rejected so she has the right to appeal; that is what she is currently doing. It is likely that she will lose that appeal and she will be deported. Nothing to see here other than clickbait headlines and frothing people who either don't understand the real situation or don't want to understand it.
  20. Your own servility to an incredibly damaging cause, and your refusal to look at the evidence in front of your eyes is as bewildering as it is tragic. But at least you throw in all the maga buzz words with regular, liberal abandon. Well done, POTUS doesn't care about you but he appreciates your backing his actions.
  21. You are missing my point that the president if the US is considered to be the 'leader of the free world'. That is not a role for a clown, a charlatan or someone with the attention span of a butterfly. Yes, he is a stirrer but the responsibility he carries does permit him to act so flippantly without consequence. As the re-assigned phrase goes, when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. Do you really want a directionless. compromised troll in that position? Who could have imagined that in the space of 6 weeks a US president would have neutered NATO, threatened several of its allies with annexation of their lands, castigated and turned his back on a country under constant attack from a long standing enemy of the US, and shown utter compliance and servility to that same enemy country?
  22. I am amazed that we have even got to this point where a sitting US president is threatening to overthrow peaceful neighbouring countries. I would caution against taking it with too large a pinch of salt. He may be thicker than mince, but he is being driven by more cunning forces; they will know the buttons to push and how to foment the reasons for aggressive action. This is the man who thought injecting bleach might cure covid, and that Spain was a BRICS nation - just two of his many public displays of incompetence. I am not sure that strategic thinking is his strongest suit. So neither a serious nor intellectual man.
  23. They are popular because they recognise that populism sells well to a sizeable minority of the population. It's not because they have the answer to the world's problems, just that they know how to exploit frustrations to their own ends.
  24. It would appear that America already has a Russian puppet in charge.
