Utter nonsense. Vietnam doesn't have the infrustructure, hotels, or know how (YET) to capitalise on tourism.

Thailand has the infrustructure, the population know how to cater for tourists and their needs - the problem is it is attracting (and seemingly wanting) low quality tourists. Wiping away visas for Chinese simply just accelerates that problem - it's simply an insane paniced decision.

All you do now, is stop high class tourists coming, because those sorts of people don't want to holiday with thousands of other tourists on the beach.

If you want high class tourists you provide a professional service, stop the rip off touts, keep it classy. Look at the state of Phuket at the moment, it's horrific. It's being turned into a cheap Benidorm.

    Also utter nonsense/drivel.

How can you compare Phuket to Benidorm? Infrastructure in Spain vs Thailand.

There are a few remote areas in the world today that aren't affected by seasonal air pollution, but I doubt there are any cities that remain clear all year around. This year, many US and Canadian cities had much worse air pollution than northern Thailand!

We've lived here 23 years, and have never been bothered by the air pollution. We have never felt the need to leave during Burning Season, although we do turn on two (1,000 baht each) air purifiers in our house, and for perhaps 2-3 weeks in the middle of the season will put on N95 masks when we go outside. We do not stop playing, we do not stop traveling, nor do we stop or change ANY of our normal daily routine because of the air quality. We just deal with it as we would any other climate condition. Blizzard... we put on snow tires and drive a little slower. Rain... we use an umbrella and don't wear good shoes. Air Pollution... we use air purifiers at home and masks outside. No problem.  ????

Any other climate condition? Smog isnt a flijate condition, you know? About 30,000 people die each year because of the burning, many more end up in hospital, but you have never been bothered by it. Are you a chain smoker?

  3. Maybe you should tell us what part of Thailand you are talking about. The different aprts of the country have their own 'smog season'. The south has less smog issues than the rest of the country in general. The north is heavily polluted from end November until May.

This has got to be the biggest fake festival I've ever seen. For one week most Thais will eat vegetarian. When you ask them why they'll tell you it's good, it's more healthy to stop eating meat for a week, kinda gives the body a chance to detox and get ride of toxins. And I always think...if you really believe that then how the hell can you go back to eating meat again next week?

Nothing fake about this festival, it's certainly bigger than Songkran here down south. Not eating meat is just one aspect. You should visit Phuket, or Takua Pa this weekend and you wont believevyour eyes. The amount of fireworks is unbelievable.

Do agree with the old saying. ????

It's not entirely fair to compare established markets like the US, where Kratom has been used for many years and there is a significant supply, primarily from Indonesia, to emerging markets. The commercial Kratom market in Thailand is still in its infancy. However, as the volume increases, prices are expected to drop. For instance, a product comparable to ours retails for about $15 in the US, which is slightly more expensive than it is here. Over time, and with streamlined production, we anticipate that prices here will become much lower than in western markets.

In general though, vitamins and supplements are still a LOT cheaper in the US, and I don't have an answer to that.

This is not true. Prices here have already dropped and are a lot cheaper than in the US or Europe. Check Shopee, Lazada or even on Facebook for prices if you dont believe me. 495 baht for 20 grams of dried leaves (powder) is absurd for a locally grown plant.

Kratom in its infancy here.? Have you ever driven down south? Hundreds of roadstalls are selling leaves and tea. Powder is just dried leaves (1 night in airconditioned room will do) without the stams and veins, 20 grams of powder is worth not more than 20 baht.

Thailand has the Maeng Da strain, which is a lot more potent than the Indonesian strain.

Not everything in life is about price. Then old saying about the fool who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. And I'm not saying that this is the case here, supplements are a rip-off and all, or almost all, are bad value for money. Ask yourself why in the US or UK or EU you can buy supplements at 1/4 of the cost than in Thailand.

This 'supplement' grows in every garden here in the south, can be bought on every corner, and is also  highly addictive. My point is: why pay 25 times the normal price for kratom powder? Whether kratom is of any value to you, is rather subjective 9f course.
