A giant comcrete platform as landmark on top of this stunning cliff. Lovely.

Let me guess, not a fact: it's wastewater from shrimp farms that causes these plankton blooms.

On some corruption, not all of course. Impossible to eradicate corruption as the country would implode when the informal economy would cease to exist.

Bangkok is one of the only cities in the world where taking a taxi is often cheaper than taking the metro. Bangkok's public transportation network is horrible compared to most other big cities. Try going from Bang Na to the CBD's or airports.

You broke the MOU, you broke basically all your pre-election promises, have criminals in your cabinet and your defacto party leader is (still) in jail. What is there not to trust?

Another interesting NIDA poll last month was about winning the lottery. A whopping 89.8% of the respondents was in favor of winning the lottery.

Why are the comments so negative? At least planting more trees will improve the scenery and the air quality.
"The project plans to cultivate more trees on road islands and pavements across 14 districts, covering 34 kilometres."
Maybe because many here have become rather skeptical over the years, as authorities here couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

More expensive light poles? Big business for some. Why not start collecting all the rubbish and plastic along these corridors, plant some trees and have the traffic rules enforced at crossings?

But they offer better service, cleaner toilets and better coffee shops than anyone else. Our local Esso station is the worst station in town, run by miserable Chinese, where absolutely everything is a huge effort for them, no toilets, no coffee shop, and you wait an age for service. Good riddance.
PTT does indeed offer a good service. Whether other stations are run by Chinese, Thai or Martians is irrelevant of course.

Is that Prawit wearing a wig in the OP photo ? Or his sister? How cunning.

I read very little about the ecological damage as this project would destroy primary rainforests in Ranong. Big no.

That depends on how this scam/scheme is financed. Is it financed through tax collection, then the GDP won't necessarily increase as people can only spend their income once, be it on tax or on products.

That cannot be true if Bangchak has bought out the Esso chain
I am not talking about you, I am responding to your comment. The world doesn't revolve around you mr Bild!

The nearest PTT station is about 16 km away and I would have to pass 10 or 11 gas stations (including 2 Esso stations) to get to PTT.
Maybe you ought to get out of your village in the middle of nowhere more often. PTT is by far tge biggest gas station in Thailand pushing all competition of the map.

Some of us are, like you, are able to judge a person beyond corruption crimes, severe human right issues, election fraud and many more crimes. There is sonething good in everyone, right? Even the Dahmers, Hitlers, and Thaksin's of the world have a friendlier side. Kumbaya.

I don't much care if he "sold out", I was never a member of the MF fan club. But I do care that he gets the economy, which is in sink mode with Prayut's massive borrowing campaign. I'd like to see him do something for the poor people In Thailand.
By giving them a 10,000 handout paid either through tax collection (also poor people pay tax!) or bonds. This handout then needs to be spent in affiliated businesses. Genius. A handout to the people, paid by the people.

Until the hoards come
The hoards will go to Phuket and Krabi mostly. Khao Lak is nice for European families, and Phang Nga town is just a sleepy provincial town. We even consider moving there ourselves.

Phang-Na soon to become a nightmare place.
No, it won't. The new airport is long overdue and will be built near to the Sarasin bridge, just 20km from the Phuket airport. Phang Nga will still be Phang Nga, which is empty and green.
