I'd like to say this will keep Sturgeon quiet for a while but knowing Sturgeon she'll keep talking her nonsense regardless.
Now that Bojo has made a formal rejection his interpretation can be challenged.
The legitimacy of a second referendum was originally supported by David Mundell while Secretary of State for Scotland in the Cameron Cabinet. On June 26 2016, he said: "If the people of Scotland ultimately determine that they want to have another [independence] referendum there will be one.”
He added: "Could there be another referendum? The answer to that question is yes. Should there be another referendum? I believe the answer to that question is no." These remarks were made on the BBC’s Sunday Morning Politics show and subsequently widely reported in the UK press. Clearly at that point, the Secretary of State’s advice was that there was no “lifetime” or generational block on a second referendum.

Quite, brexit blindness hid the slippery slope.
Even the government acknowledged it would be downhill.
The government’s own internal analysis, leaked during the general election campaign, said there would be checks on goods in both directions between the two parts of the UK.
It also said there would be a devastating impact on the Northern Irish economy and claimed 98 per cent of Northern Ireland export businesses would be “likely to struggle to bear this cost” of customs declarations and documentary and physical checks on goods within the UK.

The predictable first steps have been taken IAW due process.
It will be up to the Scottish parliament to make the next move.
Ms Sturgeon said that the Scottish government would set out its full response later in January when Holyrood will be asked once more to endorse requesting formal powers from the UK government.

Thank you Khun SandyF
I'm good with two accounts. One income, one money in bank, with a nice cushion of money. Good with letters confirming and updated bank balances. What I REALLY need to know is does the bank STATEMENTS have to MATCH the balances in the Bank Books if it takes 7-10 DAYS for Bangkok Bank to get me one. The dates on the statements will be different than the other docs.
How important that they match unfortunately will be down to the IO concerned.
I was never asked for the bank books but that is nothing to go on. I always arranged that they did but never had to cover 12 months.
It is only really the income account that is the problem and if you felt that could be an issue you could get an up to date statement on the day to back up the historical statement.
I appreciate that each time you ask it means putting the hand in the pocket.
Good luck.

Better get rid of that superiority complex fast.
Those of us that were exporting to Europe before the single market actually saw firsthand the benefits of "frictionless trade".
What is that voice in the distance? "This is not what we voted for."
The reality is bad news for UK industries like car manufacturers and supermarkets, which rely on moving parts and goods quickly across the channel without bureaucracy and time-consuming checks.

Many seem to have ignored this statement from the OP.
" I am using combo method and here are the details."
When I was doing the combo method evidence of both income and money in the bank was required so I doubt that has changed.
When it came to money in the bank I was told that only that in excess of one months income would be taken into account. Would be easier with the income and balance in separate accounts. One IO told my wife that they did not do combo unless there was a separate balance of at least 200K. Different IO, different interpretation.
Without an Embassy letter it is now a method full of potential problems.
The real question is, how can the combo method satisfy the extension requirement when transfers equating to the same amount do not.

What else could the Queen say to try and save a little Royal Face and Power over the maverick independent couple?
It is a little bit more complicated than it appears on the surface.
When Princess Diana broke from the royal family she lost security and the Palace were criticised for putting her life at risk, something they will desperately try and avoid.
It does not matter what Harry thinks or says he and his family will remain high profile targets. Any solution will need to justify the expense of security.

36 minutes ago, Partenavia said:It is not so straight forward as Phuket Immigration are saying.
Yesterday I went to my Immigration Office to renew my retirement visa. Over the past year I have transferred 65,000 baht every month into my Thai account from the UK. Because the exchange rate is always better in Thailand than the UK I always transfer in sterling. In June, because of exchange rates the transfer was 63,990. I therefore increased my sterling transfer to ensure this didn't happen again. In October I transferred 65,000 from my other Thai account. All other 10 months showed payments between 78,000 and 66,000.
My visa was refused, because 1 month was less than 65,000 and I hadn't realised you could not transfer from another Thai account. The fact that my total income met their annual requirement was apparently irrelevant.
Having returned to the same immigration office for the past seven years with an Embassy letter confirming my salary and getting my visa renewed without any problems, I was disappointed.
This is the fundamental difference that those with money in the bank always want to dispute.
Previously the Embassy letter took the annual amount and presented it to immigration as a monthly average. Changing it to 12 consecutive transfers is a significant change that can lead to various problems, at the end of the day it is the annual income that actually means anything.
This year I was out of the country in May and June when I went to the UK and China and did not make transfers during that time. Why transfer money when I am not here, in fact I brought sterling back from the UK and took that to China rather than funds from my Thai account.
Of course in November when my extension came up for renewal it was a non starter so I went to HCMC and got a Multi non O.

Of course overall spending will decline year on year as the Chinese blood gets diluted. Anything for a headline.
I am fairly certain my wife's family will spend the same this year as any other year.
Hopefully this year they will kill off a few more chickens.

Sandy, I did not say this was fake but I am saying that it is the type of threat that is typical of the EU.
Your added links refer to Scottish independence, not these EU threats.
I never said you said it was fake - "will always be project fear or fake news."
Confirmation lies in what you said?
"I suppose we can expect the EU to continue with Project Fear"
The links were just fodder for further confirmation.

What happened during your many years living in England, to make you think as you do?
As I left England in 2008 the answer would be nothing.
I agreed with David Cameron that Scotland's best interest would be served as part of the UK and the EU. Turned out it was all lies and he was already plotting to stab Scotland in the back.
Alex Salmond's white paper had more holes than a bar of Aero and the 2014 result was the right one at the time.
Given the current circumstances the Scottish government have every right to put a new plan to the people of Scotland, the result may well be the same but it is for the people to decide. no one else.

Scotland isn't currently a country, but the sooner it can become a country and it's citizens require a VISA to enter England, the better.
Fortunately opinions mean very little. Like other attempts by a UK PM to promote their opinion, this could well end up in the courts.

Countries issue their own passports and have embassies and consulates in other countries, if they don't, they aren't.
That would be one point of view, how about another.
A country may be an independent sovereign state or part of a larger state, as a non-sovereign or formerly sovereign political division, a physical territory with a government, or a geographic region associated with sets of previously independent or differently associated people with distinct political characteristics.

I can appreciate the angle Bill, but it hardly equates to self determination.
During the Kosovo hearings the UK supported the right of every country to self determination, it would now appear that they propose to renege on that policy or dispute Scotland being a country.

Nope, he is not asking about Benzine,
the question is about 95 ethanol.
SHELL V-POWER GASOHOL 95
Is 5 baht more expensive
"Gasohol" means it contains ethanol which can be 10% or 20%, not sure if that creates a price difference.
As far as I am aware only Thailand and Canada have widespread use of this type of fuel. The idea being that it keeps the engine clean by effectively wearing the metal away.
I have a petrol strimmer and the warranty prohibits the use of fuel with a higher than 5% ethanol content. I use Benzine, it is more expensive and becoming difficult to find.

You should stick to the facts, it is the Scottish Parliament that has requested the section 30, not the SNP.
What's that about a parliament being dominated by one party?

Exactly. Bojo and his merry brexiteers think that 43% is an overwhelming mandate for brexit. Scared stiff of the result of a second referendum he manipulated the result he was after on anti Corbyn sentiment.
Blair manipulated the UK into bed with the US and look what happened. Scotland has a right to self determination and would be right to reject being ruled by a UK/US administration.

Non-O visa extension soon, but lost passport
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
In 2014 I applied for a new passport and got caught up in the UK fiasco. After about 7 weeks my permission to stay was about to expire so I applied for a marriage extension to get another 30 days but they told me not to bother coming back unless I had the new passport.
It arrived 3 days before the under consideration expired.
