Why do you csuckers love to jump on people when they have bad experiences? Just because you know these ripoffs exist doesnt make you superior and give you the right to make fun of peoples bad luck and experiences. Grow up you old bastards!

You don't even know the difference between a lobster and a crayfish. Go and play with your rod.

    what floating market where???

I think he means the original one outside Bangkok, not the Pattaya touristy one.

I did it donkeys years ago, great trip although I had to get up at some insane hour.

Everybody gets a commission these days and the prices quoted are the initial gouging attempt.

Now it is just like a staged tourist attraction.

It's at Damnern Saduak about an hour's drive south of BKK. It's the original and best. It was in the James Bond movie "The Man with the Golden Gun".

I went years ago too can't imagine what it's like now.

This guy drowned in the pool one day.

Had I come cross him alive I might well still be running.

Oh sad. Scolopendra, maybe subspinipes. Give a pretty painful sting. AKA the tigers of the detritus zones. Don't let them climb on you like you can do with a scorpion as some species intermittently bite without reason or target as they move around. Pick up gently with big blob of cotton wool if need be and deposit in the decomposing layer you want terrorized.

Snark I don't think you have a wife, do you?

BTW is the Thai fear of large centipedes and millipedes based on a venomous fact?

  4. It would most likely be a cobra because they are very common and spend a lot of time on the ground. Pit vipers spend most of their time in trees. If it was a krait the dog would be dead by now.

As said giving the wrong anti-venom is worse than giving no anti-venom at all. If the dog hasn't died yet there's a good chance of flushing it out of his system with a saline drip and meds. Good luck.

Looks like a piranha to me. A lot of piranhas were released into the wild from aquariums which has led to a subsequent ban on their importation.

Thanks for that so will the pond have any other fish.

    Or must it be cleared.

For an absolute ID you will need to do some research like counting the number of rays on the fins etc. It's up to you if you want to clear them but if the pond is landlocked I don't see a problem. They can be sold to aquarists at a good price, a few 1000 baht each and they also make good eating I have heard.

I have no idea how they afford to pay the rent-there are six of them sharing a one bedroom apartment.

There's and old expression "Behind with the rent". I guess that's how they are paying.

Easy to see at the ripe ol age of 25 he already knows it all.

Best left to his own devices.

None so blind as those who will not see.

Agreed. It seems like Luke knows it all already so makes one wonder why was he posting questions here?

Well if he is to be believed he's a poor little rich boy that's blown his father's stock trading account on Russian stocks. Let's hope Putin doesn't revalue the Rouble. That would be a shame with his 500:1 margin account. Seems like he's not cut out to be a stockbroker. Maybe his flying "Gig" will materialize.

And people with real degrees know the difference.

Bikey employers would always prefer to employ someone that has worked since 16 and studied rather than someone who just popped out of university in their 20's with zero practical experience. Unless they are looking for someone specific like a specialized designer.

Seems like your degree is working well for you keeping you in the lap of unbridled luxury.

I was too busy making money although I have the equivalent of a degree in Electrical and Mechanical engineering which my company sponsored.

I bought my first house when I was 21.

recognized as equivalent by who? could you obtain a PE designation?

Engineering is a profession with two systems of entry. Either you do a degree or you work and go to college part time and do different papers which can bring you up to degree level. This system is normal in the Armed Forces and heavy industry.

    Employers know what's what.
