    If immigration accepts them.

    Complex l know...

My American Bank Statement shows the money was paid to Transwise and was deposited in my Bangkok Bank Account, Bank Code FTT.  I received a SMS that Bangkok Bank received an international transfer of $_____ on such and such a date.   My money was sent from an American Bank and put in a Thai Bank to me that is an international transfer.

The prior proof of an income stream was simple and easy- the Embassies- instead of working out a solution- which is what diplomats are supposed to do- took the easy way out- stopping the letters. It is inters sting to note the other 100+ Embassies are happy to provide the letters.

Of course some people lied- the same people who will continue to lie and get by very easily.

I have never lied and the majority have never lied- I can easily provide proof of income- a few papers.  Now, people are going to have a hassle transferring funds monthly. Those using Transfer wise- need to print out 12 pages of transfers to prove they had an international Transfer.

My way of proving income with 1 or 2 pieces of paper as opposed to showing 12 transfers in a bank book plus a bank letters and possibly  12 more pieces of paper to prove the transfer were from abroad plus carrying your actual proof anyway doesn't sound  like the KISS principle- keeping it simple.

It sounds like the bureaucratic crap that it is. Am I glad Thai Imm kept the income method- Of course.  However- they haven't kept it simple and they could have very easily.

I used TW this week to test it.   The money was withdrawn and paid to TW on my bank's transaction.  TW receipt shows the money was transferred to Bangkok Bank.   Bangkok Bank statement in my Saving Account Book shows an international transfer.  I don't know what your problem is but I can do that 12 times a year with more than 65,000 baht with no problem.   It seems only those who got a Retirement or Marriage Visa knew the rules but didn't play the game right and now they are crying about it.   All along it was always 65,000 baht a month but people try to play games and not follow the rules.  So blame it the the Embassy or TI and not you.   It's just too damn bad.

  3. I just did a Transferwise transfer of $50 to test their system.  I think their system can work.   I transfer $50 from my US bank to Bangkok Bank.  It took one day to process.  Today I went and updated my passport.  It showed the international transfer with the Code FTT.   I also printed a PDF copy of the receipt (only the first page) as proof of the money being sent from overseas.  The Code TFF is the same code I get when I do an ACH transaction from my bank to Bangkok Bank, NYC.

The document ONLY deals with the additional way we can prove income.

There has definitely not been any change to the option of putting 400/800K in the bank, OR the combination of income/cash available for retirement extensions.

That is because the 400k and the 800k did not change.   The only change was how to show you transfer funds to a Thai Bank each month 65,000 at least.

  5. I have Tricare for Life.  I am 71 years old.  You must have Medicare Part A and B to be eligible.  I pay 25% of the cost for both outpatient and inpatient treatment including medicines.  I will never go to a government hospital and only use a private hospital near where I live for minor issues.  I do not pay anything after I reach my limit of $3,000.  ( I understand this will go up to $3,500 this year).  I only use Bumrungard Hospital which will charge for inpatient cost 25% and submit the claim for me to Tricare.   BNH and Bangkok Hospital do this also.  They will verify with JUSMAGTHAI that you are eligible.  With one operation you could meet your cap.

p.s. I don't care what people think about government hospital.  I will never use them after seeing how they examined my wife for a cold.  The doctor did nothing but write a prescription for about 7 medicines.  Did not check to see if she had a fever, listen to her lungs or look down her throat.

  6. I have Tricare for Life Overseas and Bumrungrad Hospital will direct bill.  Just let the hospital know before being admitted and they will verify you are eligible with JUSMAGTHAI.  But you can not have a single room only a double.   The hospital will charge you at the time of release 25% of the bill  They will file the claim for you.  But any medicines you are taking home must be paid on another claim.  No the inpatient claim.

  7. Today I was at the Ratchaburi Immigration doing a 90-day report and asked about what I can use to show I transfer more than 65,000 baht a month into my Thai Bank Account.   First off they did not know that the American and British Embassies were not issuing Income Letters after 1 Jan 19.   I ask how can I show that I transfer 65,000 baht or more to Thailand each month.  I showed them my bank book with the transfers each month.  Their answer was you need a letter from your Embassy to show you transfer 65,000 or more into your Thai Bank or you need 800,000 baht in the bank along with a certificate from the bank.   I was getting nowhere so I said maybe I have to wait to see if immigrations change anything or I just need the 800,000 in the bank when my extension of stay for retirement is due.

To who it may concern.   I couldn't find the other article on this so please transfer to the topic if you want.
