    I'm sure you're correct.

It was interesting to note that on a recent visit to Australia, I didn't see palm oil on sale anywhere.

Unfortunately it is sold and used in Australia, promoted as an ecologically sustainable product! What a load of crap - it is very high in saturated fats and therefore "unhealthy". A win for the greenies (and product promoters) perhaps but definitely not a win for healthy humanity. :post-4641-1156693976: Labelling laws allow it to be sold as a vegetable oil

Meechai added that the panel should include outsiders with a deep understanding of educational affairs who enjoy widespread recognition and are open-minded.

“Members of the country’s educational sector have failed to step out of the old box. Without a fresh perspective, the sector will just be trapped with the same old problems,” he said during a meeting held by the Office of the Education Council.

Firstly, there never seems to be any willingness by Government/s to use knowledgeable outsiders to assist in solving problems of any sort - good luck Meechai on that one. Your heart and commonsense is in the right place though.

Secondly, there never seems to be any willingness, by the upper classes to truly educate the lower classes in case they challenge the "establishment" (the old order).

Therefore, my conclusion is, nothing will change unless it is for the betterment of the "establishment". A sad reality I think.

NZ law says you can ride a moped no more than 50cc without a bike licence, but not sure about the aussie rules.

She would need an international license to drive any vehicle here, although I have hired bikes with a NZ one, they don't care.

I now have Thai license and full insurance.

Insurance companies have that many out clauses these days that you need to read them thoroughly.

My friend had his car stolen and the insurance company asked if the car had an alarm.

He told them yes it did but it was not working, they denied his claim.

"My friend had his car stolen and the insurance company asked if the car had an alarm.

He told them yes it did but it was not working, they denied his claim."

If a working alarm was a policy condition then they had every right to deny a claim of theft.

    Fake news?

Only last Thursday when the corruption index rankings were released the PM stated the drop to position 101 was unfair as all corruption was in the past.

This clearly in light of the venerable PM comments is fake news...right?

Ostrich with head in sand comes to mind if that was the PM's comments. And if there is no head in the sand, then it must be too difficult to see the forest for the trees?

    in many cases, it is

1- not possible to get a clear summary of coverage and exclusions

2- not possible to compare insurances and also

3- not possible to find insurance policies that offer the required cover.

the whole insurance-cover-abroad thing is very frustrating, even for intelligent and informed persons.

I guess your points depend in what country you are arranging the insurance, but (see below for my country) for a policy I recently purchased it seemed quite clear as to the terms and conditions: (reproduced here):

Methinks they should make the fine print a little bigger and especially "not cover when riding a motorbike part" It is such a big feature that insurance sellers should really take a sec and point this out to prospective policy buyers and travelers.

When contemplating buying insurance cover it pays to first look at what the insurance DOES NOT cover. Then consider if it meets your needs. "Self insurance" can be an expensive exercise.

Hope she has complete recovery, but quickly gets out of Thailand back to her own country's hospital.

My point exactly. You state I have a mental disability and you tell me to crawl under a rock. Thats a bit insensitive. If I were wheelchair bound you would be faalling over to help me.

    Please show some compassion.

"...You state I have a mental disability..." I posed a question.

"Please show some compassion." And you have?

Maybe one day, through no fault of your own, you could be wheel chair bound. Hope you feel the same way as you espouse now.

What will happen, is that major storms will create considerably more havoc than in the past. Just like we saw in New York City a few years back when a major storm rolled in. The subways were submerged and much of lower Manhattan was flooded. Just give it some time. No matter what any of the naysayers, and science deniers say, it is impossible for me to wrap my mind around the possibility that we are NOT causing global warming, and messing with the atmosphere. Nearly 7 billion people, and all of those cars, trucks, trains, ships, and aircraft have got to be having an effect on the ecology of the planet. It is just basic common sense, to my mind. With an ice shelf about to break off, that is nearly 300km long, from Antarctica as we speak, sooner or later sea levels are going to rise, and areas like Bangkok, Miami, New York, New Orleans, Jacksonville, much of coastal Netherlands, the Bahamas, and so many more areas could be devastated in the near future. And what are we doing about it? What is Trump going to do about it? Probably absolutely nothing.

Trump will build a wall or call Ghostbusters

I honestly believe we are not causing global warming (a cycle of nature) but we are probably contributing to it. At the end of the last Ice Age, where were the humans that caused the global warming :whistling:

    Quite so.

Nor has the US the right to advice China.

On the other hand, China owns quite a lot of US, and not the other way around.

    Which is a shame.

A shame maybe but not a problem. If it is deemed to be a "problem" then just nationalize the assets. Easy, eh?

China wants to lecture the USA but they certainly don't give a s**t about their neighbours e.g. South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia etc.

The police split it amongst themselve.my wife told me about a farang who was caught with some weed and the police helped themselves to all of his belongings,TVs furniture, scooter etc and told him to leave town pronto.

Sadly, what else would you expect?

And now the Government is going on a national morals promotion program. A bit like saying, do as I say NOT what I do? Changes start by leadership from the top! Not by lectures.

Lost all respect to Jackie Chan this is just a marketing campaign on his new movie going off the bags with  Kung <deleted> Yoga on the front of it ..

Does it matter? At least he gave something and that is probably more than the rich millionaires, multi-millionaires and billionaires of Thailand have done for their fellow citizens.
