  1. OK thanks Guys. Got a Smart phone, iPhone 6s recon - just need to learn how to use it now. ATB
  2. Any advice welcome - I'm in the UK now hopefully arriving in Thailand Nov 5th
  3. I've booked 1 night ASQ at Ravindra Beach B7480 on Nov 5th which is OK for me as it takes me closer to home.
  4. Thanks Guys for the answers - you are right - the CoE site was not stalled, the problem was, I actually hadn't uploaded correctly. Now with some help, the documents are uploaded OK and are being 'processed' apparently. As my previous AQ, Ravindra Beach at Jomtien, did not yet have a price for the 1 day in AQ, I have uploaded evidence of the previous 7 day AQ reservation. Hopefully when this is queried by CoE I will have a firm and paid for 1 day booking to send. Thanks again.
  5. Are CoE applications still being progressed at all ? I've got 'pre-approval' in UK for a Non-O return on Nov 4th/5th, (not to Sandbox). When I try to complete the next stage and upload, I get a message, 'documents not uploaded' by return and have to start again. I'll have another try at progressing CoE tomorrow, but I wonder if I will be able to use that to return on Nov 4th/5th or not ? I wondered if ALL arrivals Nov 1st onwards will be required to have the 'Thailand Pass' meaning any CoE effort is in vain right now ? Any advice ?
  6. Worth a try - I booked the 'Ravindra Resort' at Jomtien for my 14 day / 7 day ASQ. Looks a good place. Good luck !
  7. DHut and Fusion58 - I have the same problem. My COE has now been pre-approved to fly on Nov 4th arriving 5th. I have to upload a few more documents then it's done with hopefully. I intend to try and complete that AND apply for the 'Thailand Pass' in addition, to cover it both ways as soon as it becomes online. Just can't do anymore. Hoping for some clarity on how to proceed. They'll have to be sharp with the data and instructions if I am to do the Pass but we'll see. Hoping for some clarity asap I'd add !!!! Any thoughts ?
  8. Its seems clear to me. At BKK leaving Thailand, because it's 72 hours (3 days) before the DAY of your flight, it's in effect the day of the swab not the hour of the swab that counts. So IMO you can take a test 3 days before the day you fly. All good fun . . .
  9. Thanks Ubon - to confirm that earlier comment was incorrect - a re-entry or multiple-entry permit will normally lapse on the date of the expiry of the Visa to which it refers ?
  10. Thanks again Ubon and I agree with your last post 100%, (I was about to post myself) . . . . ***** Partington posted this earlier - "If you are coming back during the validity period of your visa -the 'valid until', or 'enter before' date - you do not need a re-entry permit". I think that is wrong is it not ? A Visa or an 'extension of permission to stay' is just that. If you leave Thailand during the duration of either, they lapse. So even during the validity period, a 'Re-entry Permit' is ALWAYS needed.
  11. Hi Lowf - we agree more now. But because of the way this works, it's not the time of the swab but the day of the swab. Further, with respect it would be crazy to rely on this at BKK - "On the plus side it would seem that most international airports do have a last-gasp testing service". IMHO 100% - it's the 3rd day before the day on which you fly
  12. Hello Placeholder, Yes they are strict about the 72 hours . . . . Lowf quotes, ".....so it's 72 hours from the issue of the test result, not from the time of the test."NO ! With respect I disagree with that completely - those words are ambiguous to me and also it would make no sense at all to time it from the highly variable moment of issuance. So IMO BEWARE of that UK Gov. comment. Again, IMO and in my experience, it works like this . . . You must have a test RESULT from a test which took place in the 3 days before you actually fly e.g. if you test on Sunday you can fly on Wednesday up until midnight I suppose ! So my comment on this is, do your test on the THIRD day BEFORE that on which you are due to fly - (that will give you as much time in hand as possible). ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE : MAKE SURE YOU GET A LABORATORY REPORT FROM THE HOSPITAL AS WELL AS THE CERTIFICATE FOR THE NEGATIVE TEST - OTHER WISE YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE CHECKING IN, AS THE AIRLINE INSISTED ON THIS IN MY CASE. In Chantaburi, both BKK and Sirivej Hospitals had a 'drive thru' service at B3000 - but you have to push to get the paperwork . . . .
  13. OK my panic is over. Advice from Thai embassy is to apply for a new 'O' visa for 90 days online at thaievisa.go.th 'Siri' at the Embassy was most helpful indeed. Thanks all
  14. Thanks Ubon for clarifying that !!! You say - "You will have to apply for a new non-o visa at immigration" - is that in London or in Thailand on my arrival ? Sorry to be thick !
  15. Thanks Guys. The Cardiff Embassy is closed - I will try the London no.
  16. Any ideas Guys ? I've an 'Extension to stay' on a NonO visa (retirement) that expires on 19th October 2021 and a Re-entry Permit. Due to Covid etc. I had expected to be able to return on Nov 4th, having read this on Gov.UK ""Residents currently outside Thailand - If you have a Thai resident visa and normally live in Thailand but cannot return within the required year, you will be granted an extension to your compulsory return deadline. However, you are required to return to Thailand as soon as the situation improves." I had thought on landing I'd get 45 days stay and could then renew my retirement Visa after ASQ Any advice please
  17. Please - urgent - is the Thai Embassy in Cardiff still open ? If so, a phone number ? Otherwise the number of the Embassy in London ? Thanks
