After suspension mods then the CRF and the KLX are basically the same bike......except you can get way more farkles and goodies for the CRF than you can for the KLX.

Airsoft rifle.
Silent and will just piss them off so they go annoy someone else. Also a great way to pass time with a couple of beers!

any update on whether the medical from another hospital was accepted??
No, my appointment was July the 10th Sunday, so I'v been to Nathon monday 11th, but it was not for the extension as I thought,The Medical certificate only from Nathon hospital?
I used to do it from International hospital in Bohput, cannot any more? My yearly extension for retirement will be in 2 weeks.
One more question with TM7 only one photo?
So i guess you have make your extension now ??
Anything to say about it. How did it go ???
Thanxxxx
They gave me the list every one know so I will go for my extension the 25th maybe, about one week before she told me but no date ?
My extension ends the last day of July.
As far as the medical certificate is concerned, no mention of Nathon hospital at all, I will go to International hospital Bohput like last year, certainly not 735Baht like in OP but 250 Baht

Well, I guess a day at the hospital with a good book in the week prior to renewal is in the cards.

If it is more for the social interaction then maybe free coffee or whatever the folks like to drink there. Serve it in real mugs or cups so they have to stick around to drink it. Give mom and pop some chat time with the neighbors and maybe a sale or two to go with it.

Can anyone tell me how much they charge from the airport to Patong?
Thanks

Try the Kawasaki dealer near Saket between Huathanon and Nathon. They stock "Real" helmets which are reasonably priced and decent quality and safety rating.

I have a 650 Versys and find it a great all around bike. Super comfortable for longer rides but with plenty of giddy up for when the need or desire arises. Lots of tech support from Kawasaki here and pretty reasonable to buy new or used. Decent used can be had for 200,000 or so.
Easy to get panniers for touring and it basically has a bullet proof engine.

Honestly, traffic flows better without the lights working.

Not surprised...just my observations.

I have always ridden a bicycle, ever since I can remember.
Most of my life was in Canada but the last ten years have been spent here on Samui. When I first started riding here I never saw another soul on a bike but now I cannot go for a ride without seeing at least a few other hardy souls out.
Here are a couple of my observations and comments.
Firstly.....why do most drivers never give any spare room to bikes that are riding on the shoulder? When there is no traffic coming the other way they still crowd you and pass by quite close, why do they not demonstrate courtesy and give the biker a bit of comfort room at no cost to themselves? God forbid the biker has to take evasive action due to a dog or a kid and ...WHAM...gets greased by a pickup who had room to give.
I was out today and got a flat. I used to have a pump on my bike but someone stole it. Happened about 5k from my friends house so thought ok, just push the bike there and ask him to drive me and the bike home so I can fix the tire. Well, it turned into a social experiment. I had endured a few breakdowns in Canada and at most two or three cars would pass you before somebody pulled over and asked if you needed a hand. Today I made it all the way to my friends house and was passed by about 50-60 vehicles of all type, not one offer of help or even to ask if everything was ok.
Kinda sad really.

Oh yeah....almost forgot.
After circumnavigating the island looking for a 12ah battery I was about to give up when I spy a little mom&pop battery shop about one kilometer south of the Nathon intersection on the left side as you are heading towards Lamai. You can spot it because pop is always napping out front!
Went in and lo and behold they have an entire rack of bike batteries and I saw everything from 6ah up to 20ah. Normal prices and real nice folks.
So if you are looking for a battery give them a try.

Well, gave them another try as my starter relay was hit and miss so needed it changed.
Popped by yesterday and after learning it is actually called a "start relay" they said they will order from Surat and call me when it shows up...sounds way too familiar.
Just as we are getting in to the details a girl pops out from the back saying "have stock...have stock!" And holding up a brand new boxed relay! So set up an 0830 visit today to install. Showed up, mechanic grabs the bike, nice girl grabs me a cup of coffee and 15 minutes later all is done! They got it right this time so hopefully they are working the bugs out.
Will try them soon for my next scheduled maintenance.

Just leave it at the airport parking, I leave my bike there when I fly. It is an Airforce base, it is pretty safe!
If you want to be safer just take a chain and lock it.

Pm me with your email and I will send a pic.

Hi Jonny, I have a 46cm fixed Givi windscreen. I am about 180cm so my eyes are above the screen but all the crap and air gets deflected above me. Really works wonders in the rain and I have no overheating issues.
-
Have one on my Versys and it really cuts the wind pounding you get down. Mine is a taller touring shield so great in the rain and I have had some truly enormous bugs meet their maker on the screen....better than my face!

Agreed, she does the legal translations for court appearances, 'nuff said?

Nope wantan.
It is made of firm nylon so water just flows through it. So does the air when you ride, kinda like a/c for your butt.
My cat jumped on mine once, freaked her out and now she is scared of it.

Try Chiangrai saddlebags at crsaddlebags.com. They stock and ship these covers and they are really nice folks. EMS real fast and cheap.
Highly recommended.

Ring road is a shortcut to your funeral.
If you want a workout try the road over the mountain from Lamai to Maenam, that will get your heart pumping!
