Green Book, and plate stolen, how to get new one
Pla Simon replied to Billpro785's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
"99 percent sure I know who did to, but have no proof. I would assume I would go to the police, and file a report" You don't need proof - unless you think it was a one off, malevolent act - reasonable suspicion is enough to include their name in a separate police report, if you think there might be further repercussions, regarding the theft. -

I'm sure a joint venture between the pharmacist and the police will be able to weed out the culprits... -
Was refused to leave Thailand
Pla Simon replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It confused me also, and in stark contrast to my own experiences. I can only assume Hellfire was at the wrong border point at the wrong time. Over the Years, I have transferred stamps here 3 times over 4 passports - twice at Laotian border points - once at my local office. The only sticking point I have ever encountered was the last time - it was a weekend - the senior i/o was playing football, so I had to wait for him to be contacted, to make a phonecall to a subordinate, to sort it out. I must point out, I can't recall ever being charged for the service. I'm sure once Hellfire jumps through the appropriate hoops, he'll get sorted - I would perhaps avoid such a checkpoint in the future. -

Well, he's definitely stuck in the early eighties - but more of a Robbin' Wanger, than a Robert Wagner... -
Was refused to leave Thailand
Pla Simon replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No need to fly anywhere, unless really wants to.. Hellfire is still entitled to a border bounce before the end of the calendar Year - regardless of how many covid stamps he has had. Indeed, I just enjoyed my second bounce yesterday - after similarily being on covid stamps since the start. Got 45 days without any problems atall @ O'smach - which can be extended for a further 30 in Thailand. -
Visa run to Cambodia
Pla Simon replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Usd 30 + 1 photo. They will not accept old / grubby / marked bills, or denominations less than $5. They may try and get 300 thb for same day return. You could feign ignorance, or try to pay less - tell them you only have a hundred, or indeed, no money atall. Just to point out I've never paid - but I do speak reasonable Khmer. -
Xi Did Not Shake Hands With Prayut ‘Because Of Covid Measures’
Pla Simon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Tu lost Xi's interest by letting him slip in the back door easily, and wagging his tail over enthusiastically. However, he was soon placated and Xinping for joy after he overheard the British delegation referring to him as a "Top Beta of the Meet"... -

Dramatic video: Chuwit and Santhana square up at Thong Lo!
Pla Simon replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Nice to see such a virtuous chap on a pious crusade to stamp out corruption and ill gotten gains. He seems to be biting off and feeding on ever increasingly sized pieces of vulgar media pie. Let's hope that this time he hasn't bitten off more than he can Chuwit. -

Gen Prayut Can Move to Another Party – Gen Prawit
Pla Simon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Says the guy who couldn't hold back a shart, nor move anywhere at will, without falling over. A simple solution would be to rename Palang Pracharath Party as the Non Stop Party - a continual teeth grinding merry dance - throwing shapes instead of their toys, out of their respective prams.
