  1. Hello,

I have a retirement visa (Israeli passport) and I need to report (first 90 days report)  to immigration for my 90 days period ending. What happens if I don't report and leave Thailand 20 days after the 90 days report is overdue? Will I have any problems in the airport leaving Thailand? Any other unpleasant issue possible? Could I enter again in the future  with visa exemption or regular tourist visa? (not planning to use the retirement visa anymore)

    Thank you!

You mean you want to rent a geared bike ?

Just curious, why the objection to auto ?… bike like the hinds ADV are much better ( but, of course you may have specific reasons)

When you write ‘there’ do you mean Thailand in general, or somewhere specific in Thailand ?

the objection to auto is simply because I'm used to having a leg break such as the honda wave has, in the past i tried scoopy for a few weeks and ended up having an accident (maybe because it was very light) so I don't want to risk again with auto.

'There' I mean Koh Phangan, where I live at the moment. so yes, I'm interested in a geared bike, I think the Honda Wave is labeled as 'semi automatic' bike, meaning it has a leg geared paddle but no clutch.

Yeah right they send me back to laos on 29 and say the rules are change. I need stay 2 3 days in laos before come back

Sorry to hear that, I suspect that before the 60 days exemption change, tourists had to go to the thai embassy and to get a proper visa and had to spend 2-3 days in laos and 'support' financially the tourism in Vientiane, and since now with the new 60 days rule it's not needed anymore - they implemented this new 2-3 days before enter back rule.

  4. Hi,

I have an Israeli passport (located at Koh Phangan), i got into Thailand 2 months ago with Exemption 60 days stamp, just got yesterday 30 days extension at the immigration, so in 1 month I'll have to leave Thailand.

    1. Would I be able to get 60 more days with a land border run? or is it only possible by entering via air?

    2. Between the 2 options (Myanmar and Vientiane) which one would be better/safer?

    Thank you!

You may want to provide addition information about your friends time in Thailand. If this is their first time in Thailand and they have only spent 60 days it is a lot different compared to someone that has been traveling around and this will be the 6th time entering the country in the past year.

If they are going to spend some time in Vientiane they could always make an appointment and apply for a Thai tourist visa.

    Hi,

Thanks for the answer. They have been before a few times in Thailand but for short periods of time. This year, they've been 2 months plus another for extension. They used a single tourist visa. So they are not the typical in an out tourists with lots of stamps.

  6. Hello,

My friend and his partner (Israeli and American passport) about to finish their tourist visa+extension and thought about flying from Samui to Vientiane (Staying in Vientiane for a couple of days and coming back) and back - will they encounter any problems getting a 30 days stamp at the airport immigration on the way back? or is it usually as easy as doing a land border run? and is it possible to get after 30 days extension at the immigration?

    Thank you!

I went 25 January. Long tail boat ,ranong Myanmar. Stamp in stamp out. Back ranong.

I went to kiwi orchid, next to the bus station in ranong, they helped me with the ticket. Good luck

    Thank you!

I know Kiwi Orchid, there is a strong woman there that helps which is nice. do you know if after 30 days you can extend for another 30 days in immigration?

  8. Hello,

A friend of mine who has an Israeli passport thinks about going to Ranong for a land border run to get 30 days additional stay in Thailand:

    1) Is it possible these days to do this border run (I know in Myanmar things can be unstable some times)

    2) After 30 days pass, can he go to the immigration in Samui and get an additional 30 days extension?

    Thank you!

He shouldn't have any problem with that plan as long as he hasn't spent a lot more time in Thailand recently than you mentioned.  He will get another 30 days and that can be extended 30.

There is some form you have to fill out online before entering Singapore, but it's quick and easy.

    thank you,

by the time he leaves samui to singapore he would use his one entry tourist visa (2 months) plus 30 days extension in the immigration. before that he was in europe for a long time. would that be okay at the border? or will they give him problems?

    thanks

  10. Hello,

A friend of mine (Israeli passport) stays in Koh Samui and thought about doing a 'border run' by plane to Singapore, staying there for a few days and then coming back. will he get visa exempt at the airport for 30 days? possible after to extend with another 30 days at immigration? any specific items needed to enter Singapore?

    Thank you!

You obtained a single entry Tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Savannahket and on entering Thailand you were granted a stay of 60 days.

In that case, you should have filed a new TM30.

okay, thank you for your reply, I'll talk to my house owner to arrange a new one. it was the thai embassy in Vientiane, actually.

  12. Apologies in advance if it was asked before.

I have a screenshot of TM 30 from a few months ago of the same house I live at the moment, during this time i did a visa run to Laos (single entry tourist visa) and soon the 2 months will finish so I'll need to extend for 30 days in the immigration. can i use the same TM 30 screenshot paper? or do I need arrange a new one with my house owner?

    Thank you.

I did it a month ago....good idea to make copies of everything  especially the bank account copy showing u have $$ stashed away...it says 3 months but mine only showed 2 months but no problem  I had a train ticket which nobody cared about and as usual make an agoda booking then cancel it so i can show a hotel confirmation if asked......nobody in laos seemed to care but when i reentered thailand at the border the agent there was interested to see which hotel i would stay...i actually live in a condo but didn't want to get into all the tm30 stuff so just wrote name of my agoda hotel and the form which he could not read and asked the name but that was it...

get the copies made before you go otherwise there are a bunch of copy shops/tables nearby but that is sorta a pain in the butt with lines...

Money in laos is a pain and u don't want to end up with much leftover as nobody wants it outside of Laos.  Hard to project exactly how much u will need as u will need to stay a few days to wait for visa and likely take tuk tuks  go to restaurants/bars etc . If i had it to do over I would have taken  US one dollars or Thai baht smaller bills which u can use at of course a lousy exchange rate but maybe better than getting stuck with laos $$....exchange places seem to all close about 4 pm and not so easy to find.  Overall a few nights in Vientiane was not all that thrilling more like boring IMO.

My hotel front deak gal was able to get me some kind of bolt type car to take me back to thai embassy pick up completed visa then same car back to border at a fixed price...it is a pretty long ride back to the border....can't remember the cost but driver was good and decent car.  Tuk tuk drivers tend to quote ridiculous rates and some real rat trap vehicles.  Especially from train station and to/from embasssy area.

thanks, so at the embassy they didn't ask to see a return ticker or anything like showing proof you will leave thailand in the future?
