  1. Hi,

I have an METV visa and I will need to soon to fly to cambodia and come back to thailand to stamp the second entry. Could you please tell me if it's possible to do in the same day? I have nothing to do in Cambodia, I just want to fly there and fly back to Thailand on the same day a few hours after i arrive? is that allowed? or i need to stay 1-2 days in cambodia?

    thank you.

A border bounce means that you travel to land border ...eg Nong Khai and exit and turn around and reenter Thailand visa exempt.

You are allowed 2 per calendar year

Also you will not be over questioned compared to re-entering via air

Thank you. yes, it might be useful in the future or else just getting another proper tourist visa in a thai embassy in Laos for example.

I just got back from SIN.  For me it was easy because I am fully vaccinated.  These are the entry requirements for you:

If you can meet the COVID-19 requirements above, you may skip to the General Entry RequirementsIf not, you must fulfil the additional COVID-19 requirements listed below.

Requirements for Travellers Not Fully Vaccinated with COVID-19 WHO EUL Vaccines

    i) Pre-Departure Test (PDT)

Within two days before departure, take any of the following COVID-19 tests:

    • COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction test; OR
    • Antigen Rapid Test (ART) administered by a trained professional, or self-administered ART that is remotely supervised by an approved ART provider in Singapore [for Singapore citizens, PRs and Long-Term Pass Holders (including In-Principle Approval holders) only]

The Pre-Departure Test (PDT) report, which shows a negative test result, must be in English (or accompanied by a notarised English Translation), and clearly states the traveller's name, date of test, as well as the traveller's date of birth or passport number per the passport used to travel to Singapore.

A PDT is not required only if you tested positive for COVID-19 between 14 to 90 days before your date of departure for Singapore. You can use this tool to check if the pre-departure test can be waived, and the documentation required to prove your first infection or recovery.

    ii) COVID-19 Travel Insurance

Short-term visitors must ensure they have travel insurance covering COVID-19, with at least $30,000 of medical coverage. Read the COVID-19 insurance and medical treatment page for details.

Good luck.  I flew with Soot nonstop from CNX.  SIN is a great place and got a reminder of home.  I am from Southern California and many of the things I want I found there but of course everything was expensive.  Just something to consider for the SIN MRT (city train) is No Cash and no single journey tickets.  MRT only accepts cards that you top up.

For the required insurance try AXA Thailand at direct.axa.co.th.

wow! thank you for the detailed information.

    are taxis also expensive there?

  4. Hi,

I have an Israeli passport with METV living at Koh Phangan currently, I'll have to leave Thailand at the end of January to get my second entry. I was thinking to apply the easiest option and fly directly from Samui to Singapore and come back the day after. has anyone visited Singapore recently and can confirm it's possible? also, regarding Covid 19 - i understood that non vaccinated (my case) require to show Covid test upon entering. anything else? i read something about Covid 19 travel insurance? would i need this even if come there only for 24 hours or so? if so, how do i get that in Thailand?

    Thank you.

The bridge to Savannakhet is in Mukdahan.

If you just want to do a border hop the crossing to Chong Mek here in Ubon. It is about 90 km from the city.

Thank you. if I enter Laos, don't I have to pay for a laos visa? I remember in the past going to udon thani from surat thani to make a single tourist visa in Vientiane border and to enter Laos i had to pay for a Laos visa. is it the same with border you're talking about or not?

Myanmar land crossings are all officially closed to foreigners. However, there are reports that the crossing from Ranong to the Grand Andaman Resort is partially open. Apparently, it is not possible to get a visa exempt entry on the return, but going with a multiple entry visa might be possible. I suggest you contact the visa run companies in Phuket, not with the intention of using them, but to check the exact situation. KBV Visa Run company (+66 (0) 848 890 606 Mobile, email: [email protected]) are usually reliable.

Thank you! i might try that.

  7. Hi,

I have an Israeli passport with METV visa, I'm currently on my first entry which will end in the last days of December and then I'll extend for 30 days in the local immigration where I'm at (Koh Phangan). but after that I'll need to leave Thailand and come back again to get a stamp for the 2nd entry. I used to be able to do it in Ranong/Myanmar (can't go to Malaysia because of my Israeli passport) but I don't know if this is still a possibility. if not, is there any other border close by I could go to and do it without spending too much money?

    Thank you.

  8. Hi,

Israeli passport here, I have an METV visa, I'm on my first entry now which will expire on the end of December, then I will extend for another 30 days at the immigration and after that i have to leave the country and come back to apply the 2nd entry.

my question is - do i need to make this 90 days report (online or physical) or is it not needed with this type of visa?

    Thank you!

  9. Wow, very useful information, thank you very much.

may i ask as well - when I look at international flights to Chiang Mai they all seem to have a stop in Bangkok airport - does that mean I will be checked there at immigration or in Chaing Mai?

also, what about flying to Koh Samui? (again most flights seem to pass through bangkok) - are the officials there problematic or more loose like Chiang Mai?

    Thank you!

At immigration, the new passport should make no difference. Immigration can see your full history of periods in Thailand in their computer. It is possible that a passport full of stamps might have a psychological effect on some officials. I personally would not bother with a new passport, but I would not accuse those who did of being stupid.

Thank you! So I guess getting a proper thai tourist visa from an embassy with my current passport will be the best option, right?

Yes. My wife, baby and Myself arrived back on 8th June after 2 of those visas, once the immigration seen them I was grilled as to if I used an agent, both mine an my wife's ignorance to the question sparked the red button. On arrival the boss took the passport and said "it was OK this time because I had a proper Non O, but I was lucky if I hadn't I would have probably been sent home."

So yes get a visa before coming, still doesn't gaurantee entry but greatly increase the odds.

Wow, sorry to hear about that unpleasant experience. Glad you and your family made it in the end.

    Anyone else has a feedback?

    Thanks.
