  1. Call the closest thai embassy. They can issue an immediate pass.

Mine took 10 days. I called them on day 7. No answer on any of the listed numbers. Finally had a Thai business friend assign it to his secretary. She kept calling until they finally answered. They said if no pass by day 10 call back and they would issue emergency pass. I got it on day 10 2 days before my flight.

    Start making phone calls!

    .

  2. I actually read it all! Thanks for your detailed post.

I returned 6 december and most of my experience was a little different.

The pcr test at CVS was drive through and best of all Free! Notice comes email next day.

Getting thai pass very stressful! 6 hours on computer and phone calls to numbers seldom answered took 10 days. My friend who did hers on her phone in 10 minutes was approved in 6 hours!

On masks, yes you need to wear, but long meals and sleeping with blankets pulled up high. Ment that they were not so strict. In Thailand my mask has vents but they are filtered both ways. No one confronts me. The filters are 2.5 and far more effective than medical masks  On mor Chana. I had a cheap phone ready to install the program but was never asked to do so.

I booked a very good hotel so no waiting, private car waiting. Pcr test at check in. Just me. Fast service option and had result in two hours.

There are a lot of moving parts to the Thai Pass and all have to mesh. That's

    stressful. Other than that easy!

  3. I applied 9 days ago from usa. Still waiting. Called the help numbers. No answer, finally got a thai friend in phuket to keep calling until they answered. I travel this saturday. They said too busy but if no code by Thursday call back and they would issue an emergency pass. I had thai friend do the talking. She got her code within 6 hours of applying on her phone! But I spent 6 hours on a computer and still no code. Very frustrating! If for just a vacation I would give up and wait until easier. Also sent emails to help address but no reply?

I got the LAX singapore bkk flight and my tix was under 500 usd   one way

I got bkk/SFO in premium economy for under $1100 usd RT. they advertise free change fees. I changed the first time and no change. Then I changed again a couple of days ago to a December return. There was no change fee. However the price had gone up and cost me an extra $1230.00! This was on only the return portion plus a better seat fee of $140.  They do have 6 single seats in premium economy for this extra fee. Nice planes. Airbus 350/900

Man I miss EVA.....was my go to...gonna try Singapore air next week and the prison transit--attica!

I did the Singapore air to SFO. 2.5 hours in Singapore. but on the upcoming return flight only 50 minutes transfer time.  They do require a pcr test within 48 hours of flying and be fully vaccinated for the best flights. They are good with all seats being either business class or premium economy. But I still prefer EVA when available again?

Denied How ? For What Stated Reasons? Normally Rejection Letter w/ Reasons…….

She probably got the standard form letter that they give to most applicants? Almost everyone is rejected at the Bangkok embassy. I very recently offered to pay for my step daughters university education is the USA. After being accepted by the school she went to the embassy for the interview and was rejected. The interviewer told her that he thought that as a "Thai Woman"  he felt that she already had enough education! What an insult!

  7. I normally use EVA and they are excellent but unavailable to transit in Taiwan until after Jan 1st I hear? So this trip I took Singapore air. They are pretty good, however trying to get an agent on the phone has been almost impossible. I'm in the USA now and they offer free change of dates which I needed. Tried online and it said I had to call in. Called in and got a recording to do online! Sent email said would respond within 7 business days! Never responded. This went on several days and finally got an agent on a chat line and changed flights. Now I need to change again and dread the fight to contact anyone who can do for me? Will definitely go back to EVA when available!

No.. you’ve dumbed it down and simplified it to make an immature and sarcastic poke at Thailand.

PCR testing on arrival is the right thing to do because overseas tests cannot be verified, ultimately they are just a piece of paper which can be faked.

While Thailand can be criticised for many things, the requirement for 1 night Quarantine until the results of a PCR test are issued is a very sensible measure.

Not everyone thinks Thailand tests are reliable. I left Thailand on Singapore airline last month and my Thailand vaccine certification was ok. But now to return the same airline will no longer accept that same certification and insisted on a certification fron the USA in order to board a plane back to Thailand  so I had to get another vaccine or change airlines.

I was vaccinated in USA (Physer sp?) and received a card from the hospital I used to access Thailand last June. How do I get a passport for vaccine here ?

You need to get a certificate with a QR code on it.  If your health care provider uses MYCHART you can get it through that app. I was able to use that app to access my vaccine certificate which was through the county health department. The app has a search function which searches all public records and actually found mine! Then there is a button which prints a QR code. It only took me several days to figure this out! These strict requirements were because I was transiting in Singapore. Maybe other  airlines are not as strict? However a friend recently flew to LAX to catch a flight to Lima and was refused boarding because his PCR test was not exactly what that airline required. After a day he got it and was allowed on. But cost him a hotel in Los Angeles for a night along with a shortened trip. Nothing Easy these days!

  10. Be aware that you not only have to clear the Thailand rules to return but the airline that you fly on and the city that you may transit in also has rules and they change constantly! When I left Thailand last month my vaccination certificate was ok but then I got an email from the airline that said that to return on their plane I had to be vaccinated in the country that I was visiting. the USA and that it had to be 14 days from the final dose. New rules from the transit country. My Thai Vaccine certificate was no longer acceptable! Not easy to travel these days!

I would say that being surrounded by humans with noisy machines and bright lights just caused its survival instincts to kick in.

This one at my house wasn't injured, and this is standard behaviour for cobras.

Looks like a spitting cobra?  Kind of dangerous for a close photo!

  12. Did you know that the water that drains from your air conditioner unit and refrigerator/freezer is "distilled water" ? Of course if you are going to save and use it you first need to clean the drain pan and drain line. Then its just distilled water. When I had a restaurant the freezer defrosted itself a couple times a day. Was easy to save the water for use in Steam machines, Irons, etc.

  13. For SFO or LAX I normally fly EVA. Great airline and short trip. However this time they have cancelled me twice as Taiwan is closed to transfers at least through September. I switched to Singapore airline. BKK to SFO is about 20 hours each way including a transfer in Singapore. The flight from Singapore to SFO and maybe LAX also is only Business class and Premium Economy. if you get the timing right Premium Economy is only about $1,250RT! Very good airline also.

They also fly to Phuket if you need that on return?

AZ + Moderna is a common combo; Pfizer is the same type of vaccine as Moderna, so I don't think it is any different.

This is good info. I am taking AZ next week after initial sinovac. Then going to USA and was thinking about following up with something else? Now I know I will do that.
