It's diesel soot. It's in the air. I breathe it and so do hundreds of thousands like me. Daily, whether there's a fire in the hills or not.

Won't lie. It'll be fun to see the whole city go into gridlock at one point. Not just a few areas, but the whole town just completely going nowhere. It will happen in the next few years, guaranteed.

They're all in denial and trying to justify their life choices. We all know that. On a serious note. Must be Thailand's biggest taboo. That it kind of sucks to live here. Great for a holiday but to live? Huge pain in the butt. There are of course exceptions. Usually people that have problems fitting in back home, ie criminals and antisocials. They love it here and will always do because of the non-confrontational nature of Thai society. It's a safe haven for sh*theads of sorts.

Can't blame him. Thailand kinda starts to suck after a few years. We all know that.

They kind of are if you think about it. Russians are repatriating their money which is disastrous for the local Russian economy. Capital flight.

Exactly this. People forget that cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai create a ton of air pollution. If the weather patterns are favourable it gets dispersed quite quickly. If there's a blocked pattern it stays. People fixate on agricultural burning as the leading cause for air pollution and not without reason, but look at what we produce in the city ourselves. Next time, scan the air above a busy thoroughfare and let me know what you see.

Scary. I have a business in Chiang Mai near a major road. It's scary to see the pollutants (in this case from traffic) settling on my car each and every day. I'm 44 and breathing this air every single day. Fun fact: I rinse my driveway every other day to get rid of the pollutants, in my opinion, diesel soot. The way my driveway is sloped it all ends up at one particular tree. That tree is now dying, whereas similar trees are thriving. If it's killing the tree its probably killing me. Another fun fact: my business is on the Chiang Mai moat.

Would be lovely to see more Tesla's and even more other EV's on Thailand's roads. The pollution coming from ICE vehicles is significant. Having a layer of diesel dust on your car every morning gets old quickly. I live in central Chiang Mai.
