Have you applied for a 60 day extension to visit your wife since your last entry? If not then that may be your best option if the amnesty is not extended.

I have not as yet. I am actually here in TH working and with my family. So yes, my plan is to ask for an extension for the time being.  So you are saying it is 60d first, than 1yr?  My visa expires on 4 Aug.

  2. I have a non-O multi for marriage, which is expiring 4 Aug, so I am in the amnesty period, waiting for news like many others before 30 Jul

However I would like to get recommendations for a reliable, reasonable priced agency who can do a 1 year extension of stay on my current visa, and/or renew the current visa. Yes, I can do it myself, but given I am still working and busy, I would like to consider agency to reduce time spent at CW and improve chance of approval.

I've had some crazy high quotes from some firms, so reaching out for suggestions.

Have you ever done a 90 day report on a Non Imm O multi entry? Answer no, so why would you want to try and do one anyway? You are supposed to leave the country every 90 days. You will be joining the 1000's of people flooding immigration as you suggested when the amnesty period is concluded. Good luck.

That is exactly what I was trying to avoid and why I went there.  But they would not accept my submission because I am over my 90day stay period and in the amnesty period.  I pushed them to allow it anyhow but they said not possible.

Next time do it online and with the days you are granted to do it online. Don't trust anything people say unless it's official. Read between the lines.

I was told by @ubonjoethe first time you do 90 day (It is my first as I have not needed to before because of frequent business travel) it must be done in person to get registered. Thereafter you can do online.

    Sorry, I'm confused.

I thought you only have to report 90 days when you have an extension for retirement or marriage ??

These still need to be renewed as and when they expire - there is no amnesty.

Yes I have a non-O multiple for marriage.  The visa is valid until August but the last entry was valid until 30 May.

I was told no need to do 90 day (cannot in fact) and no problem, can stay until 31 July.

  6. Be aware:

If your visa extension (your entry stamp "valid until" date) has expired, as mine has, even though you are permitted to stay until 31 July - immigration will not allow you to do 90 day reporting.

I was hoping to do 90 day reporting now, as from 31 July we don't know what will happen and no doubt there would be thousands of people flooding immigration.

Unfortunately at CW they would not accept the report as the date is expired.  You can only do 90 day if you are within your period of stay.

When your permission to stay due date expired during the Amnesty, some IOs will not allow you to apply for the 1-year extension of stay because of that reason.  But when you are married to a thai national you can apply during the Amnesty for the 60-days extension of stay which will provide you once again with a 'stamped' permission to stay.  And so at the end of those 60-days you could then apply for the 1-year extension of stay.  Obviously it would be in your interest to apply as late as possible for that 60-days permission to stay and do it just before the Amnesty period is over (31 July).  That would give you then till end of September to apply for the 1-year extension of stay.  And in case the borders are open again by then, you would have more options to choose from (e.g. you could then simply apply for the 1-year ME Non Imm O marriage Visa at a thai consulate abroad).

    Thanks you Peter

If you prefer to stay on a Non-O obtained from outside Thailand, you are covered by the amnesty and do not have to do anything at this time. If there is still uncertainty regarding the borders come end of July, you may apply for a 60 day extension at your IO office.

If you choose to go the extension based on marriage, suggested by your friend, at your local IO, you will need to apply for the same 60 day extension in order to have the 400,000 baht in a bank in your name only for the required 2 months. Best of Luck.

@ubonjoe, if I've misspoken, please correct me.

Good info, but I am a little confused that @ubonjoe mentioned a 1 year extension, but @AgMech Cowboymentioned a 60day extension.   Given the July 31 uncertainty any extension extension is good, but can either of you clarify what is possible?

    Many thanks guys

  9. I have a 1 year non O for supporting spouse, but it is expiring in July. I am living and working in Thailand.

I thought I would have to leave country to get new visa (of course the COVID situation massively complicates that), but my neighbour's wife whose husband has same visa says no, no need to leave country. Can get new 1 year in CW.

    Is this true?

Secondly, I have 2 properties, one in Bkk, one in Sattahip Chonburi. Does it matter which office I use to do 90 day reporting?

Unfortunately they won't do it until the toll booths are open - remember some traffic will be coming from before the start of the tolls past the airport and they have to pay that toll somewhere.

Yes that's correct, because the Pattaya toll booths are after the junction which turns off to Baan Amphur / Baan Chang / Map Ta Phut.

Thanks - even multiple other searches I could not find it - a lot of older articles however

Thanks for finding this.  I could only find older articles on a search too.

Disappointing it is now August but hey ho...     I really wish they would open the Pattaya-Baan Amphur section though, it has been finished a long time now, and would take a lot of traffic off the Sukhumvit road, bypassing Pattaya for those going to/from Sattahip district (e.g. me !)

  12. Does anyone know the current planned opening schedule of the Pattaya-Map Ta Phut motorway extension?  It was originally scheduled to open in 2019 but I have not seen any update for a very long time. Also, the section to Baan Amphur has been completed for 6 months but they have chosen to not open just that section for some reason.

  13. @Isaanlawyers I for one really appreciate you championing these efforts to take this up with immigration and for your effort with the website, the petition of which I signed too.

I have worked here for 21 years, legally married with family, have condo in BKK and at a beach village in Sattahip district.

I work in BKK Monday to Friday but weekend at our beach condo which I own. By their regulation I should report to immigration in BKK every Monday, other than do my job, which an employer would not tolerate.

Similarly I and many farang friends are keen mountain bikers and often do day trips out of BKK at weekends. Again, this would mean Mondays at immigration. Clearly the current construction of these regulations is senseless for many people, and against the spirit of good guys in, bad guys out. It is making it much harder for good guys who pay taxes, support families, invest in properties and the stock market.

I've registered with the section 38 app some time ago, but still have not received an ID or password to do TM30 reporting online. This flakey and unreliable nature of anything online with the government adds to the frustration.

I would gladly support any efforts to revise these regulations

Vientiane has not issued multiple entry visas of any kind for several years unless you are Laotian or a legal resident there.

You can apply for a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage at the consulate in Savannakhet with no financial proof.

OK noted.    And at Savannakhet there is no appointment system these days right?

That's why I stuck with multi O for years. OK it means in out every 90 days but it means no dealing with the local Imm' office.

@ubonjoe  @overherebc  I notice that Vientiane regulations say that for Multiple Entry it says "Only for Resident Applicants" in their conditions.

    So this would mean:

    * In Vientiane I cannot apply for multiple - do you know if this is true?

    * If single entry, when I apply for the extension in CW, I am stuck in Thailand for 30 days whilst they process it, right? (this maybe very inconvenient for my new job).
