46 years old, probably fairly fit given his occupation, A death Island worker, according to his FB page.
It is natural for people to be suspicious given the reputation and past events on this island.
Let us hope the outcome is positive and the conspiracy theories not needed.

Although I've been doing it for years, the final eleven months of my last extension was put on hold until I provided the receipt (I left it at home). This was at CW.
I have removed several posts relating to this post and replies to them.
I understood what he was writing about.
He apparently applied for an extension of stay and was given a under consideration stamp a with report back date 30 days later. When he went back to get his extension stamp they would not do it because he did not have the receipt for the last 90 day report he did in his passport.
The one error was saying he got the remaining 11 months since it is actually the 12 month extension stamp dated from the end of his the permit to stay he was extending.
not clear
What?
A two word post is certainly not clear.
A wind up sure.
Your answer was clear and informative.

Has anyone started a list of hotels that cater to Chinese bus tours such as these? I for one would be interested in knowing where to avoid them.
Regent Savurnabhumi, Lat Krabang.
I have my apartment very close and last night ( a usual occurrence) 4 busloads of Chinese hooligans turned up
in their coaches between midnight and 4am.
Sleep not possible.

I like PI, I like the people and I dont care about the food.. I can cook from the supermarkets myself.
Infrastructure is indeed poor and unreliable.
No more crime in most places than anywhere else in the World. You have to take your wits with you wherever you travel.
I am in Thailand but if I was forced to move countries PI would be my first choice.
Beautiful islands, fantastic beaches and lovely welcoming people.
Weather can be shitty though, I helped in Manila ( Yes, stay away from here!) during the storms a few years back.
Poverty is like nowhere else I have seen.

I said very poor.
No indications to vote otherwise.
Perhaps a minister of finance who actually understands finance might be a start to improvement

I have a great idea: Let us watch a DEDICATED THAI policeman do a fantastic job.
Then let's dissect every second of it so we can have a Thai bashing thread.
Some posters on here are pathetic.

At Pantip there are many models to suit all tastes and budgets. Foolish NOT to have one IMHO in THailand.
Farangs assumed guilty in any accident... dashcam evidence COULD help a LOT.

I am pretty sure this poor child had nothing to do with drugs.
RIP little one.

Whats wrong with ice cream and sh1tty songs?

Have to have everything in place for the main event which is going to change things a lot around here.
Military believe control is the key to avoid too much dissent.
Wont work.

Here is an idea:
A 17 year old guy has died driving whilst drunk.
This is a perfect chance to tell the world how great my parents were and how wonderful I was as a parent and BONUS
we can be judge jury and executioner of the family.
Hey, don't worry that we have no information or knowledge about their parenting, their family or even the poor lad who died
this is a hell of an opportunity to show how superior us westerners are.
Grow up.

" piece of barbed wire he used as a washing line. "
whenever I travel I find carrying a small length of string in my suitcase to be handy as a washing line because it is certainly more compact than barbed wire
Doesn't tear up your underwear in the suitcase too....
I wear a thong... no problem with barbed wire

My thoughts are with the family.
My disgust is with those whose sanctimonious comments and holier than thou attitude sucks.
A 17 year old died doing what many young kids here do. It is NOT Europe or America, deal with it.

Like it or not both the sisters FB post and the RTP response has gone viral in a BIG WAY.
This story is not going away.
The Anon crew plus the RTP and Laura are filling the international media.
A good thing.

A guy lost his life.
Accidental or not, time will reveal.
I cannot understand why every thread resorts to a personal pi55ing contest between Thai haters and apologists regardless of the OP topic.
Would be great to have a thread that just shows sympathy and concern.
My thoughts are with the family.

We Are Anonymous is a fb page and that is where the letter is.
It is a bit emotional and just sets out the sequence of events.
Claims to be making a video.
Not sure of credibility.

Read the letter by Anonymous to the Millers and Whetheridges.
Where is the link?

I was not aware of that, thanks.
I will do it in person at Patts tomorrow.
You are indeed the font of all imm knowledge!!
Thank you very much

Just got my notification not approved and saw the reason as TM 30, 28.
So have to go tomorrow in person.
I saw nowhere on the online reporting to submit these 2 documents.
Any thoughts?
The reporting website does no mention them because it is not a requirement.
Your local office denied it for them for some unknown reason. Have you filed either of them before to office where you are reporting to?
Thank you.
I applied at Bangkok as that is where I am staying at the moment,, normally I sign at Pattaya, Only signed in Bangkok once, some 4 years ago. So that will be the reason I suspect.
As I am off to Patts in the morning, I will sign there.
Will I have a problem as it has been denied in Bangkok?
Thank you again

Just got a message from some friends arriving here on the 15th December and they have been informed, ( not sure how reliable their source is),
that due to the funeral taking place on the above dates there will be no alcohol sales or bars open.
Anyone got any official statements about this?
Thanks

Yeah here's a clause they should put in, try prosecuting the bloody venders at the markets/street stalls that flog this stuff and the bib that just let it go on for a cut...
I agree but I have not seen ANY since a few years now (pre-junta) and I visit pattaya and bkk often
Beach road in Pattaya has at least 3 that I saw last time I was there ( about 2 months)
Openly selling the disgusting filth.
These new laws are a step in the right direction, enforcement we can only hope for.

It is true he reacts with emotion and is certainly not a diplomat!
However, given the tasks he has and the difficulties involved one can understand his frustration, he is not a politician.
All he has to do is learn to accept the criticism and get on with the job.
Bit of an ask but, lets hope.

19 years old, honest and 3 kids already.
That cash would have paid some school fees!!

Maybe you should have some reading practice before jumping in with inaccurate speculation, something you accuse many others of.
There was NO DIVING ACCIDENT.
He went diving to a depth of 60m, allegedly, with a leg infection.
What happened when he went to the 7/11 near the death island boat would be speculation until more facts are known.
