  1. "Although not classed as tourists, ex-pats still spend more money here than the packaged holidaymakers." Hear, hear! For a long time now this fact seems to have been ignored by the Government, and even at a very conservative estimate, the average ex pat spends almost almost half a million baht every year, which is a lot more than your average tourist. And during the last two years when the tourist industry has been decimated by Covid, ex pats have no doubt kept many small businesses going. The 90 day reporting requirement seems very much to me to be a "OK, the alien is still here, boss!" situation, and doing away with it would show a bit of appreciation that most ex pats are here for the long time because they want to be, and are unlikely to "do a runner"!
  2. ".............a man called UU Guotro who was behind the whole operation managed to get away." What a surprise there (not!) considering the amount of money involved "Then the bent Chiang Rai officers were also arrested and charged." I wonder how full the "Inactive Posts" section is these days, or whether we will EVER hear of the results of the charges?
  3. I would think that hanging wires would be a problem to ANY biker - regardless of age! No mention of the communications company responsible for the hanging wires being brought to book - must belong to one of the "Untouchables"!
  4. So what now Mr Anutin - to wear or not to wear that is the question! You have "flip flopped" on this issue so many times that I get dizzy trying to keep up. However, as it is in the Royal Gazette you may be hard pressed to change your mind AGAIN!!!
  5. I would think that 200 stitches should give you a good idea of the damages, and the mental damage to a 2 year old should be obvious!
  6. I don't know for certain about either of the above 2 scenarios, but brownies containing "weed" certainly can, and I don't see any reason why the above should be any different!
  7. "......the dog cannot be held guilty of a crime." A few years back a dog attacked and killed its owner in Thailand. The dog was taken to the local temple to say sorry! And before anybody says anything - yes - I am being serious!
  8. "Nobody ever thought its a good idea to give kid pot, or to give anyone pot without them knowing (both reprehensible IMHO)." Exactly like spiking drinks - either with "date rape" drugs, or even more alcohol. I was at a 21st party many years ago (before I had even heard of "pot") and I was drinking beer. As soon as my back was turned people were lacing my beer with spirits. I ended up sick for days and my doc reckoned I had had alcoholic poisoning - not funny at all. ????
  9. Might stop a lot of hyperactivity and unruly behaviour! ???? (I'm joking - I'll get my coat!)
  10. "Everybody" knows why the Emergency Decree is to be extended again (18 times now?) and it is f**** nothing at all to do with Covid! This guy is determined to hang on to power - even to the detriment of the country - "end of"!
  11. Par for the course with this lot. Same fiasco with masks and Covid - now you wear them, now you don't!
  12. Partly agree - but I don't love it - it frustrates me! Statements like "nobody smokes cigarettes any more" are of course total nonsense so why do people say it?
  13. Going by the pic, the hierarchy are obviously saying thank you to Buddha for something - the legalisation of marijuana perhaps? I'm surprised Anutin isn't there to put his oar in!!!
  14. I wonder how many times that has happened compared to the psychosis being induced by alcohol?
  15. Now they have brought it to the public notice, SOME prospective tourists may just think "Apart from having to wear a mask in public places, now I find that I can't buy booze between 2 and 5 pm at a supermarket - I'm holidaying elsewhere" It's a stupid rule anyway - what purpose does it serve?
  16. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen staff at Macro and Tesco Lotus watch farangs pick up bottles or cans of beer/alcohol and watch them carry on with their shopping only to be told at the checkout "Sorry, no can have", much to the annoyance of the customer. Would it not be an exercise in Customer Relations for ALL the staff to be instructed to notify the customers picking up booze out of purchasing hours, "Sorry, no can have"?
  17. Thailand "expects" millions of more tourists:- Masks still mandatory in public places:-
  18. "..........after a 31 year old ladyboy was found wrapped in a blanket in a storeroom at a house in Kang-en sub-district." Ah, bless, maybe the poor dear was cold? Possibly the use of the word "dead" before the word "ladyboy" might have explained things better?
  19. Really? Well blow me down with a feather - after all we've been told by those on high I never would've thought it!
  20. "Why bring up the overdose issue now?," he stormed. "Why not before?................" Because you have just legalised it - wally!!!
