  1. One of my Thai friends said I shouldn’t indicate because the other drivers will know what you’re doing and try to stop you. She was absolutely right, that’s just what they childishly do, but I don’t follow her advice.
  2. World leaders in killing themselves and others with their adeptness at driving, but these guys are too dangerous.
  3. Not wrong at all. But it’s a pointless argument for me. That area at night time, it’s for you not me. As for other more normal areas, I have experienced taxis that refuse to use their meter, fine I can wait for one that will, or Grab, or Bolt.
  4. Yeah living in central bkk in excess of 10 years just isn’t long enough to have gained any experience. Believe it or not Bangkok doesn’t begin and end in late night Sukhumvit. And your experience doesn’t change the facts.
  5. The “poor” taxi driver has fixed his meter which is illegal. Not everyone on TT is there to make money, it’s not that easy. Taxi fares in Bangkok are not supposed to be negotiated. That’s what a legal meter is for.More fool you if you allow yourself to be scammed by negotiating.
  6. So you would be quite happy to let the taxi scam you and charge you whatever price he feels like? He’s just a poor person after all. The tik tok guy is a good guy because he’s trying to save others from being cheated. A bottom feeder is someone who cheats others, not someone who exposes a scammer.
  7. For a brief moment I thought you were serious. Of course I realised that nobody is that twisted.
  8. I sometimes wonder what’s made these grumpy old men so nasty, or have they always been like this? When I was a teenage backpacker I met some incredibly nice and kind people all over the world. They were kind, interesting and interested and went out of their way for us. Probably the best thing I learned was to be like that myself.
  9. Utter nonsense. I’ll respond back if you can find a valid argument. Up to now I just see an angry person banging away at his keyboard.
  10. Who exactly would suffer if I were to use an agent?
  11. Do you really think rules work in Thailand? Why do you think agents exist? I can only think that life in Thailand has passed you by. I’ve been here long enough, perhaps you haven’t.
  12. It makes complete sense to pay an agents fee and use your 800k to earn good interest.
  13. I’m sure the OP appreciates your valuable and well thought out response to his question.
  14. @rudi46jr Andy is a friend, I’d be happy to ask on your behalf if he regularly makes gluten free or would make a special
  15. Let’s face it, and I’m speaking from experience, it’s not every Immigration Office interpreting the rules how they want, it’s every officer in every office doing whatever they want. I have occasionally done a TM30 but mostly I don’t. When I stay in Thai hotels I always check in with my pink card not my passport. When I go back home or to another country I return to my own home.
  16. About as predictable as a gammon's love of childish emojis
  17. I guess if a church can wake you up with bells then a mosque has the same rights.
  18. “Woke brigade” standard rhetoric of the bigot brigade.
