This is the thai word for western dtà~wan-dtòk ok .not fararng , fararng it is a made up word by lazy people.

do you like the word <deleted> ? .

    the same thing fararng.

village Thais are the worst at be lazy with trying to talk  proper thai .

    A made-up word?

What are you talking about? Farang is a perfectly good Thai word. I have no problem being referred to as one, or even using the word myself.

The only people who object to it seem to be those who have a bit of a problem with the locals.

so what?, facts, opinions, truth, never let them get in the way of a good topic.

peeing in the wind there buddy, our resident god botherer has plenty of western friends, why Bangkok must be awash with them, he even brought one with him to see the temples and beaches. Another mitty clown residing here.

I'm no 'god-botherer' - I'm not religious in any way at all. Not sure why you would presume that.

I'm also not sure why you would think i'm some kind of fantasist for claiming to have western friends - there is a huge western community here in Bangkok.

I guess if you only hang out in the bars or with people you meet there, you might get the impression that only single male sex refugees come to Thailand, but that really isn't the case.

I didn't say that... most of the girls I sleep with are not 'sex workers' but flexible, easy going girls with normal jobs and careers who like farang, dinners and attention etc. and who have a very much more relaxed attitude to sex

they are freely available and, some, like a little 'help' for gas or rent and others completely 'free'

    Ok.

You're still making the error of presuming that the only options are Thai women or celibacy, though.

You need to open your eyes and look around at how many western man who are  Single come to thailand to have a thai lady ,  be it from a bar or on the Internet,  you not understand that .

how many western man do you think go to thailand for the  temples and the Sights and I am not talking about  expats who work in thailand.

I didn't come here for the ladies - or for work.

I first came to Thailand on holiday to see the sights, the temples, the beaches etc. I liked it so much I came back several times, and eventually moved here.

I told him.:wai2:  Although I think somewhere out there in cyberspace there is a record of couples as opposed to single people from the UK who visit Thailand.  It is a lot more men as are the posters on Thai Visa.  What do you think the ratio of single men who live in Thailand as opposed to married couples is?  I just went to a Western club meeting that I attend monthly and there were 50 men and one woman.  That strikes me as about the average ratio in Thailand for Western people who live here.

Maybe people with western partners don't feel the need to go to clubs to meet other westerners?

I said look around you , not understand that ok , my thai lady tells me as well ok ,so you have no idea what you are saying you just trying to talk your self in to thinking thailand is a Great place and yes thailand is very good place but not for me ok

I just ask the members out there and had some great replay from the smart one's not the dumb one's .

What does that have to do with your claimed 'fact' that 90% of foreign men come here for the Thai women?

Doesn't look like one of the "old problems" was fixed.  A short time ago, I added a reply to a thread on the Health forum.  When I hit "Submit Reply", I was greeted with a blank screen.  Huh, now what to do?  I waited a time and then tried to refresh and was asked if I wanted to resubmit the form.  I've done this before only to find I've created a double post.  This time, I opened the Health forum on a new window and found my new post hadn't been added, so I did indeed hit refresh on the previous window and see that the post is indeed on the Health forum, thankfully just one time.

It's stuff like this that wasn't fixed from the old version that's making it frustrating to use TV.

So they've fixed the old double post problem?

    Awesome. Good job!

I for one could never go through a day without being able to talk with the person i was living with.  About everything, without havîng to talk baby language.

You good, good, you good, good.  Googoogoogychoo.

How was that last James Patterson book you read?  Goo, with a lovely braces on the teeth smile.

Enjoy, cos it could get worse.

Those Western women and their roast dinners etc. that you fought so much to get away from - they may be beckoning-

I can't imagine living like that either.

I guess talking to your wife is not particularly high on some people's priorities.
