Liz Taylor had a ton of plastic surgery, beginning in her teens.
No offence, but that post was pretty wide of the mark generally.

Someone's about to tell me I don't live in the 'real' Thailand, aren't they?

The Thais don't dress like that round here.

So those guys in the cargo shorts and Chang vest are doing it to send a message?
Maybe. If the message is "I've given up".
I simply do not see the problem with cargo shorts in a very hot climate and a vest is definitely better than a bare chest. My point was very simply that dress sense is not a good way to judge a character as long as it is within the bounds of acceptability in the host country.
Who said anything about judging character?

Never had a problem at Chaeng Wattana.

Ok, thanks. I wouldn't know what a personalised view was if it hit me on the head, I'll come back in a month and see if it's improved.
You'll probably get more out of it if you make an effort to engage with the new format, rather than just hoping it'll somehow magically reveal itself to you.

I guess some people are happy to live the cliché.

When you say "imbecilic", don't you mean "more than likely accurate"?
Seeing that Wireless actually crosses Sukhumvit it's impossible to get any nearer than that, nor should the police area that both places are found in be ignored. The geography isn't that bad.
Many times "Nigerian" is used as a figure of speech when drugs, pimps, prostitutes and scammers are being discussed to avoid Ghanaian or Ivorian Coast pedantic hair splitting.

The 'Activity' drop-down menu under 'More' on the top bar is a little annoying to use - it's too easy to accidentally navigate away from it by rolling over one of the other links on the bar.

That's a coincidence, I generally dress like that other guy in the picture.

Speak for yourself. Matt Damon is older than me.

I think you're missing my point.
I've met a few people who only started venting their real feelings about various things once we knew each other fairly well. Previously, it had (understandably) all been light and fluffy as we all 'felt each other' out - discovering whether we were trustworthy (if you get what I mean without automatically assuming a sexual dimension
).
No, I get your point. But the people I know here mostly aren't like that at all.
Perhaps you think you know my friends better than I do, though?

You would be surprised (possibly) by the number that split their time between Thailand and their home country (other country).
When staying elsewhere like to keep in touch with whats happening in Thailand and offer help to others.
No - I've done the same myself. I thought we were talking about people who didn't live here at all, though.

It's a pub thread. Inconsequential is par for the course.

No, really - they're nothing like the kind of people that dominate this place.

It would make more sense to believe that some Thai women who like Matt Damon may also like men who look like Matt Damon. They're not just going to like all men who happen to be of the same race. That would be moronic.
True. But then we're talking to people who maintain that all Thai women are gorgeous, despite the large amount of evidence to the contrary walking the street around them.

Middle class, maybe.
Some people seem to think 'hiso' = 'not poor'.
