  1. I have some experience in this.

Usually the companies will contact you via their slaes agents.

Their prices are no better than at Makro but they can provide a refrigerator unit under certain conditions but the conditions tend to be draconian but not too tightly enforced.

    They will also deliver.

If you have your own refrigeration and transportation then there is absolutely no advantage in buying directly from the company.

Some companies, such as bottled water, are more expensive than if you buy their products at Makro.

As for Ice Cream Wall's gives a very good deal and they are well worth colaborating with and will provide a freezer free if you buy 1500 baht a month from them and that is a very small amount.

  2. I'm not sure if the forum rules allow me to say the following, if not then please delete with my apologies.

I ordered 1.5 million baht form Indochine several years ago. I paid in advance.

Much of the order was left on the ground floor rather than taken to the upper stages of my house.

A very thin, single layer of lacquer or paint, depending on the piece, was used which quickly chipped or wore away with the slightest of usage.

The cuttings and finishings of the furniture were amateurish.

The lesson I learned is either buy pre-fabricated or do not pay in advance for custom made.

  3. The 2008 Condominium Act Amendments provide the following additional protections for buyers:

    Interesting. I didn't know that.

But presumably one would still have to sue (or at least threaten to sue with legal backing) to get satisfaction? And even if you go to court and win, what happens if the developer lacks (apparently) the ability to pay compensation or provide the missing items?

That's why many set up a new company for each construction project. I have also found that going to court can take many years, is very expensive; one must render a certain sum at the court and should one lose the case that sum is forfeited. One can also lose because of a simple oversight in filing paperwork.

  4. I mean if op gets out of this mess he would prolly do it all over again. OMG thsoe issan 2nd grade ed. girls are smart.........lol.

Just what the hell are you babbling about?

Are you impaired in some way or do you always spout filth?

What a sad, sad person you are.

And actually my ex-wife has a degree from the most expensive university in Thailand so I suppose the cheap bar girls are for the likes of you.

  5. About 10 years ago I paid 14 million for a house.

The house still isn't finished and the project has been abandoned.

I also paid 1.5 million to have furniture custome made.

The furniture arrived but in such poor condition it can't be used.

I'm not saying there is nothing you can do but I have learned to never pay for anything in advance.

    Apples and oranges again.

Foreigners can not own land in Thailand, hence trying to buy houses in Thailand can never be recommended, UNLESS you are in the happy minority in a stable marriage with a Thai spouse.

In case you missed the title of the post, the discussion is about condos, which foreigners can legally own freehold (up to 49% of any development).

Well Gee, I guess you told me, didn't you?

Now can you tell me the purpose of your comment as I see nothing constructive in it other than to add to your comment count?

The point being that once the money is paid it is very difficult to recuperate it as a general rule ergo the same holds for a condo or house.

Since you don't know me your silly remark about foreigners owning land is frivalous.

Many companies building housing projects or condos will form a new company for each construction site. If this company changes hands, goes broke or is dissolved it is next to impossible to obtain any money from them.

Now woukld you like to comment on the weather or the price of tea in China?

  7. I'm in the middle of a long court process against my ex-wife. I am also finding it impossible to find a lawyer who won't cheat me in order to help her win.

The lawyer before last strung me along for 18 months until I verified if he had really done the work he said he had done (after collecting 100,000 baht). I found he had done nothing and when I confronted him he quite without refunding my money.

My last lawyer did the same but I only waited 5 months before going to the courthouse myself with another lawyer to verify if he had actually filed the paperwork I paid him to do. We found he had not and when we confronted him he said he didn't want my case and left with my money.

Can anyone suggest a lawyer who will not cheat me. My ex-wife has a lot of money but it all came from me. Legally the money belongs to me but to get it I need a lawyer to file the paperwork and then aide in the execution of the court warrents.

A pervious lawyer had gone so far as to get the papers to a judge and the judge ordered the execution thus validating the money is mine but he dissapeared and didn't follow up. In other words the judge oreder her assessts confiscated and given to me. The judge's order is good for 7 days and if the executioner isn't paid within that time the warrent becomes invalid and the papperwork must be resubmitted.

I have been trying to find an advocate but can't. I really need a lawyer to file the papperwork and follow up on the execution of the warrents.

    Thanks
