  1. Canada I currently use with a plug in type reader for the chip and confirm with PIN US I used 3 years ago with a swipe Australia last used about 5 years ago no problem UK last used at least 10 years ago, so probably pre 6 digit code. No issues with shops or bank machines
  2. I use my SCB daily in Canada, draining the account of it's last funds. Have used it in the US, UK, Australia, no problems
  3. I know of two Thai lawyers, one very good and one excellent. One handled my custody procedure for my son, successfully. I have full Parental Powers which is the correct term in Thai law. The second one handled my divorce, also very much in my favor as I didn't pay my ex one satang. DM if you want his contact details and you can contact him immediately.
  4. Not that I'm aware of, Pfizer is the only one that's approved in Canada in the child dosage amounts. No boosters for the 5-12 age group either, He's had 2 and is done. I hope.
  5. The street and a fresh market vendors deal with freshly killed port. Your big box stores like Lotus, Big C, villa, Tops rely on frozen pork for distribution, they supply more of the population than the fresh markets.
  6. Just got back from getting my 10 year old son his 2nd Pfizer shot. 8 weeks between 1st and 2nd. In Canada, FWIW. No reactions to either shot other than a temp sore arm, same as Dad.
  7. I think the 13.4 million kilos is what is know as a "supply chain" Not some giant conspiracy.
  8. I remember driving past those on my way to work around 96, 97. Great big shiny buildings that looked very out of place at the time Pre motorway days, on a sunday it could take 5 hours from Pattaya to Bangkok One of the selling features was a drive in boat parking, you could come in from the river and park your speed boat in your own stall. I thought it a silly idea at the time, and I never saw any signs of occupants.
  9. Absolute nonsense, people that smoke weed or eat edibles aren't taking fentanyl Weed regardless of it's strength or percentage of THC is not addictive in any way, shape, or form, reefer madness was a long time ago The dispensaries I've been in seem to be more geared to edibles, CDB oils and relaxation therapies rather than the smokable versions. I have not smelt any weed in the air in Edmonton, or Vancouver. I have smelt Tabaco which I find more annoying You're against it, OK, your decision. Go yell at some clouds or whatever makes you happy. The war on drugs was a complete and total failure and a huge step backwards. Canada would have legalized pot many years ago, if it weren't for an annoying neighbor we have This current Thai leagilizing pot will turn into a typical Thai exercise, lots of announcements and schemes planned but nothing will really change. Until you can buy this, it's just talk. $27.95 CDN for 3.5gm. Lasts me darn near a month. A puff before bed and sweet dreams. YMMV
  10. Meanwhile in Alberta, beside my grocery store, Value Buds offers this, and MORE. Inexpensive, very high quality, and convenient. In the 3 years of legalization civilization as I know it hasn't disintegrated. I'm also very surprised at the advanced age of a lot of customers
  11. Moved back to Alberta, Canada, with my 10 year old son I talked it over with him and he was very much in favor of getting vaccinated He was given a child's dose on Nov 29. Got a sore arm and a day off school which he enjoyed. Second dose is at a 8 week delay, so Jan 24 he gets his second shot. Schools here are open, they've sent home antigen test kits so if he shows signs of infection a quick test for him and me, and if positive isolate. That to me seems a best solution to a new, evolving disease.
  12. https://www.essentiallysports.com/the-private-jet-of-novak-djokovic-his-luxurious-life-atp-tennis-news/ He doesn't travel like us peons, none of these top level tennis players do
  13. I'm in Edmonton, just broke a 50 year old record for longest cold streak. Yippee In the week after Christmas, on one fine day, of the 10 coldest cities on planet earth, 9 were in Alberta.
  14. I went to the local car registration/inspection place and got the transfer documents that I signed, copy of my passport, signed also. I gave these to my housekeeper/nanny of 9 years and she got my truck when I left If your selling, you can go with the buyer to the bank, get the money and you hand over the papers. No Residency doc required. In Udon Thani FWIW
  15. It cost me 1350 baht to do an international transfer out of Thailand, on numerous occasions I left Oct 20 and transferred out the money I had on deposit for my retirement visa. And much more from property sales before that. Anyone can transfer up to 50,000 USD per day out of Thailand, you don't have to have a work permit, I didn't. If they say you do they are just blowing you off with a handy excuse. You do need to find THAT person at the bank who will co-operate with you. Go in person to your bank and tell them you want to make an international transfer You'll need the swift number of your receiving bank, account number, IBAN number. Your passport of course Tell them you want to transfer the 25K Euro, they will send it as Thai baht and the receiving bank will convert it to Euro. Takes about 30 minutes or so.
  16. enter your 13 digit code from the certificate you should have gotten after your second shot into the mor chana app to get your digital/QR code separate vaccination records. It also has the digital copy of the vaccination record that's the same as the paper copy you should have gotten after your second shot. When I moved to Alberta there is a link on the AHS site to upload your digital records from outside of Canada. Considering it's all digital it still took about 4 weeks to get the records into the my Alberta Health app. Other provinces will be different of course, because it's Canada all provinces have a different standard and protocol. Yellow vaccine passport not recognized in Canada.
  17. I would take and show both passports. I left Oct 20 with my son who is dual citizen Canadian/Thai I used his Thai passport as ID in the hospital in Udon Thani to get his PCR test. At the airport, on checkin, when showing tickets to Canada they wanted to see either a valid visa to Canada in his Thai passport or his Canadian passport. I showed the Canadian passport, but this didn't match the passport used for his PCR. Now the check in agent doesn't know what to do. I get the dreaded, "wait here" as she goes to find a supervisor. She shows the supervisor the documents, and she doesn't know what to do, and they both disappear to find a higher up. I'm standing there thinking Oh #%$@ After about 5 minutes the agent comes back and says OK you can go, but she isn't happy. It's a small bureaucratic detail that I didn't think of that came close to derailing everything
  18. You can also get the transfer documents from the vehicle inspection agencies if you don't want to go to the DLT. They are a lot more of those around. I transferred ownership of my truck to my nanny when I left in October. Signed the transfer papers, copy of passport, blue book, done. If they are out of the country just scan the transfer papers and e-mail to them for signatures.
  19. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=villa+food+mart+coffee+pods&atb=v286-1&iax=images&ia=images You can get them at Villa, I know I've seen them at the Udon Thani store
  20. Every married man in Thailand should read the above carefully. Especially the last sentence, Read and understand the last sentence Thailand is not like Europe or North America when it comes to divorce. When I got divorced my now ex wife wanted half of a 12 millon baht condo bought about 6 months after we got officially married. The judge asked very pointed questions as to who paid for the condo, and did the wife contribute in ANY way to the money used to pay for the condo. My sources of income and how I paid for the condo were also questioned. She did not, I was asked if I wanted to give her anything, I said I did not. Despite being married during the time of purchase she was legally entitled to nothing of the condo's sale price because she did not contribute to he purchase in any manner
