  1. I had the same anxiety with my son, newborn and I'm working fly in fly out in Australia, only home 1 week in five. He's speaking Thai exclusively no English. I downloaded some learning programs on my computer, so when I was home I'd put him in my lap and play learning games on the computer. Didn't take long to notice a massive improvement, they pick it up quick. He came to the desk and pulled on my leg and said "pick me up Dad" in perfect English one day. After that it was quick and easy, Your daughter will learn, just talk to her and play with her, buy some early learning books and read to her. She'll do the rest. My son is 10 now and fluently bilingual in Thai and English,
  2. I've transferred 6 millon baht in one go to pay for a condo, not a raised eyebrow. You're OK
  3. Two tickets for my son and Me, Bangkok, Narita, Vancouver, Edmonton, one way, which is usually more expensive. A whole lot further than Sydney Total cost CDN $ 1009
  4. https://foursquare.com/v/safari-park-zoo-kanchanaburi/4b499b5cf964a520a47126e3 Was at the safari park years ago, seems to be open still. In Kanchanaburi province
  5. renamed Air Canada following government approval. After the deregulation of the Canadian airline market in the 1980s, the airline was privatized in 1988. Government now owns 6.4% due to the money they pumped in due to Covid
  6. https://www.leapfrog.com/en-us/home These folks make great stuff for kids, I've bought the tablets at Siam Square in Bangkok They are fun educational and very very tough, my son's tablet outlasted his interest in it.
  7. I shipped my iMac desktop from Northern Thailand to Canada last week, as part of my checked baggage. Original box, put some fuzzy blankets for padding and tapped the heck out of the box. Cost me 2750 baht in extra baggage weight and I'm using it right now in Canada, with a 110v-220v transformer bought from Amazon for 40 bucks.
  8. Don't need landing slots if nobody's flying. Pictures from Oct 20. Bangkok airport dead as a dodo. Very few shops open, the majority boarded up. Narita, not quite as deserted, some shops open but not boarded up like Bangkok. Vancouver, bustling busy arrivals and departures. Udon Thani to Bangkok Oct 19, full flight. No empty seats Bangkok to Narita had maybe 40 passengers in a 787, a row to stretch out in for everyone. Narita to Vancouver maybe 100 pass. in a 787 Vancouver to Edmonton, full flight.
  9. Doesn't matter now, I'm in Canada, and count me another expat permanently gone from Thailand
  10. In my case for Canada the vaccine passport isn't mentioned. I have to upload digital proof of my shots. Date vaccinated, type of shot, time and place. The MorChana digital proof is adequate, and I have the printout from the vaccine site. Once I get back to Canada I will never fly again.
  11. I just picked mine up at the hospital and I got both the PCR and the Fit to Fly cert, it's a package deal I think
  12. Canada I'm flying tomorrow, have to document my vaccinations and show PCR test less than 72 hours old on the ArrivCan app. If I don't it's a 14 day quarantine. Still subject to random testing in Vancouver on arrival and I have to test my 10 year old unvaccinated son after 8 days in Canada. PCR tests in Udon Thani 4500 baht each for my son and me. The problem is time. Got tested Monday at 8:00am, spent about 1 and half hours watching them fill in paperwork until we got swabbed. Results available Tuesday morning so that's 24 hours gone. Fly to Bangkok tonight, only two flights available. Fly out Bangkok 7:00am, now I've used up 48 hours of my 72. 28 hours transit time from Bangkok to Vancouver, so in real time I'm over my 72 hour limit. The only saving grace against the clock is the international date line clicking back a day. Hopefully it's the last time I step foot into an airport and a airplane in my lifetime.
  13. I'm flying out tomorrow to Canada and Air Canada references and sends links for the government requirements. Canada has an app called ArrivCan that has to be filled out 3 days prior to flying with vaccination records, traveller details, quarantine plan if needed. etc. Two PCR tests for 9000 baht and a 14 hour turnaround time. Makes hitting the 72 hour window tight. Swab Monday morning, result Tuesday, fly to Bangkok Tuesday evening and leave for Canada wed morning. Only thing in my favor is the international date line.

  15. https://www.hanes.com/men/underwear.html Now shipping to Thailand on this site
  16. I buy them from Lazada, I think they ship out of Korea
  17. No vote for me. Leaving Wed with my son back to Canada, he's 10 years old now and I want him to grow up in Canada. The glow of Thailand left me long ago, was supposed to move in march of 2020 but covid had us stay here. All in all Issan Thailand has been a good spot to ride out covid, but it's time to go.
  18. Flying out Oct 20 with my son. I will never return. He's a thai-Canadian dual citizen, when's he's older he may come back. Up to him
  19. My son and I fly out of Bangkok to Edmonton Oct 20, and we ain't never coming back. So long, and thanks for all the fish
  20. I was supposed to pick mine up Oct 7 at the Udon Thani main hospital. Little sign saying no yellow vaccine passports as of the 7th and they don't know when it will resume. They are out of stock and can't get anymore.
  21. HomePro, about 450 baht if memory serves.
  22. Took some photos of the hand cranked one, it's good for 6M,
