My MIL kissed my son's balls when he was brought home from birth. Now THAT freaked me out!

Culturally sensitive is one thing. But your house is your castle and MILs need to be reminded of such.

I remind mine, quite often, that I am not Thai. I respect their culture, but I do not have to agree with it.

I have never met any Thai English teacher who could hold a conversation. Most are terrified to talk to a native speaker. Some have no clue and others are teachers of other subjects forced to teach English. I know of a science teacher who has to teach English and God help the kids.

Sad.

But, it is their country. Native speakers will not be listened to by any school admin; irrespective of how "integrated" you really think you are.

The party was great. The people were great. The band was out of this world. For some people, the glass is either half empty or half full. Mine was half full.

I have never been to a perfect party. I doubt I ever will. Perhaps those who are complaining so loudly have some valid points, but at the end of the day, it took a herculean effort to launch it and kudos go to TV and the MPM team.

You are entitled to a Non O based on the child, particularly once your divorce is finalized. Your wife's visa would not be renewed as it is piggybacked with your marriage. Thai consulate in Hull only requires a copy of child's birth certificate to get a 1 year multiple O. (Plus photos of you, etc. )

The issue of your wife helping with nursery fees. The correct thing would be for her to help you. But your current situation is unknown (married still, getting divorced, common law wife, fighting) etc. Take her to court force her to help you if you have full custody of the child.

I teach locally in Phuket. Not particularly happy with the schools here. The few EP schools will not prepare my son for the real world. And the top 3 are way over my budget.

Planning for the future. Son is 16 months old. Move in about 3 years. Besides the usual need to have a job, fly there first and then bring the wife and kid after a few months; anyone have any experience in what it took (emotionally and I suppose, financially) to move back, get settled in, find a flat/house, bring village back , wife issues with life in UK, etc?

I am aware of most of the UK embassy regulations. But any pointers would be appreciated, as well.

They all have their buddies do it for less than 1k. And make sure they run a grounding cable also. Sometimes you gotta watch them..

I use Dreamweaver and have done so for about 8 years. Let's say that you are just beginning using it and the manual is too obnoxious... Get Dreamweaver for dummies. You will start making killer pages in about 45 minutes.

My ex Thai girlfriend used to use xxx sometimes in text messages and emails which I assumed was a mistaken xoxoxo. But now I'm wondering if it's something different.

Either one of the two Le Meridien hotels. Great views. Overpriced, but then again, all 5* hotels are.

What do you expect. The propaganda ( cough cough news) is run by the Public Affairs Dept. of the Royal Thai Government. The music is very repetitive, sometimes 2-3 times an hour. But if I read the press release correctly, the channel is coming into play in September, not now.

Maybe this is just a "bridge" until the real channel comes on air.
