  1. HI. I will pm you as this is off topic for the moment. You will miss a great party. It is always a good party whenever George and Buckwheat are involved. :o

Would loved to have attended the party but back in the Uk at the moment, however I would love any information, website or email address of the new magazine (My Phuket Magazine) as I will be travelling around Thailand taking photos of a variety of aspects and of different areas from the north east all the way down to Phuket, Kathu and Patong. Also have many photos from those areas from the last 6years.

    Thanks

    Paul

  2. Please keep in mind that this is a dual purpose party. It is a Thaivisa.com party co-sponsored by My Phuket magazine. Poor Buckwheat. He has a very large job to do as both us (Thaivisa members) and My Phuket magazine also is inviting.

All will be issued name tags, thankfully.

For those who have met George and Buckwheat, this is a great chance to come and meet everyone and see the new magazine. You will be impressed. So, TV members, get your invitation in fast and get there on time. I do not intend to eat lunch that day! :D

Hands ups - all the NEW PHUKET PEOPLE!!!

    :o

  3. And you have known her for 6 months. She works at an office and never was a bar girl. Prove it! You cannot. I would play her little game and send her or pay for the AUA class yourself via a bank transfer.

I would also say no to her just to see her reaction. Does she answer her mobile afterwards? Is she angry? Does she say "never mind"? Inquiring minds wanna know.

And the fact that she has never worked as a bar girl and is an office girl, it does not make her a "wirgin" either physically or morally.

  4. It has been all English for 2 weeks now. The only complaint I have is that the same songs play over and over again. Sometimes twice-three times an hour.

There is also zero coordination between the DJs and the control room. But better than nothing. I will re-subscribe to my satellite radio, though.

  5. I know of two falangs in Phuket who can carry weapons and a certificate signed off by the police chief. No permanent residence needed. Work permit yes. Married to a Thai yes. But the permit is issued to him, not Thai spouse.

Other provinces I have no idea.

  6. You are nothing to me to "offer" me a second chance, Lopburi.

A marriage visa, I will type s.l.o.w., is what you get at a local immigration office, to extend your Non O. Am I correct or wrong?

A Non O received at a consul or embassy is NOT a marriage visa.

The title of the topic is "Replying to can I can get a marriage visa in Penang?".

    You want a second chance?

First you say "There is no such thing as a marriage visa." And they you proceed to call a one year extension of stay "The extension, which you must apply for at the local immigration office and where you do not have to leave the country for a year, is a marriage visa."

In fact your first sentence is correct. But your second sentence is not. And believe that is what the poster was correcting.

  7. Sorry, you are wrong, sir. I am talking about embassy or consul visas. I am not talking about extending Non O within Thailand. Read the title of this topic before you ASSume.

Sorry but wrong. It is an extension of stay based on being married to a Thai national.

  8. They come once or twice a year and usually are at Central.

BPK is notorious for the price scales. And if you are Korean or Japanese, the prices go through the roof. Not good for Thailand's image.

Thanks for the Info, where is the Ministry located? I hear you on the BPK expenses, as I tell all my friends, this is a great hospital if your white and you have insurance. If you're paying out of pocket, I agree with the rest on Mission, or Phuket International. If I didn't get free health care here, that's where I would go.
  9. You will have to leave the country every 90 days, so no need to check in with immigration.

There are agents galore in Penang who can do this for about 20 ringgit. Search this forum for a list.

  10. No, it is the Ministry of Foreign affairs. However, when my son was born at Mission, we were given a Thai and an English language birth certificate. 2 months later we went to Central to get him a passport. No problems came up.

Service at Mission was so so. My report is here for all to search.

Regarding BKK Hospital. Overpriced and many many hidden charges. Take for example the hidden 100 baht charge for medication. If you get 5 different meds, yes, you pay 500 Baht extra. Total ripoff.

Oh, my hospital bill at Mission was 11k. If it had been a caesarian, it would have been 20k.

I work as an International Coordinator for BPK and to my knowledge there isn't a need of a marraige certificate to name the child, and there is no problem with naming the child with a foriegn name. About aquiring dual citizenship for a child, that's for immigration to take care of.
  11. I got the TL, WP with a Non O. No police check required, though I went through the expense of getting one, just in case.

Non O was in Penang. Keep in mind that you can get a Non O without a job prospect.

If you, however, go to a consulate and request a Non O, it is not for working, but for family reasons, so no check is required. The police check is required if it is for a Non B and usually for teachers.

    Small loophole there.
