Banks are pedantic
Could have put this in banking but it is Australian ID driven. Went into Kasikorn to open an account in my name only, had a joint account with them for over 15 years. The assistant manager had to send all my ID documents (including required Australian government ID) to head office via the net. Passport yellow book Thai drivers license DVA card Retired military ID card Head office rejected all this as my Aus id's had first name, last name and middle initial. ID's had to be exact same as passport. They would accept an Australian driver license. Went back and dealt with the manager, gave him all the docs from the first visit along with the following Original birth certificate Statements from ANZ savings account and credit card account, with my full registered name Original non b visa from 2006 and all the transfers through the next three passports. My expired Aus driver license. He was not interested in anything except the license. Told him I have lived here twenty years, why would I have a current overseas license. He sent a text to head office explaining. Here is the clanger- since March 01, an Aussie to open an account here, must have a current Aus drivers license, no exceptions. The manager told me to try and open an account with another bank

Mitsubishi water pump run but no water.
Sorry mate, none of my pumps have that. Looks like a vacuum line, have you tried to undo the unions? Easy enough to put a bit of plumbers tape on each male union.

Mitsubishi water pump run but no water.
Cut it close to the tank, pull the pipe, fix the valve, use a pipe connector to join it up again.
-
Mitsubishi water pump run but no water.
No need, disconnect the inlet pipe at the pump and lift the pipe out of the tank. Clean or unscrew and replace check valve

Mitsubishi water pump run but no water.
Next possibility is the little flapper/one way valve at the end of the sucker pipe in the tank.

Have you primed the pump through the top access cover?

How to Adopt Thai child?
I was in a similar situation, got dicked around by the adoption centre for four and a half years. One day a female from the centre called me and said it was easier to wait until daughter turned twenty. All we had to do was go the the local Amphur with two recognized witnesses, fill in some forms, pay a hundred baht and all was done within an hour. Would suggest you and wife go and ask what are the requirements for your particular office.

Strange number on my phone on a call from Australia.
Wife just had a call from that number, rang twice then stopped. I had the same number call me last week but I knew the +69 was a scam number. Really do wonder how they get our numbers as they are not given out to anyone except friends and family.

Invited to Loy Kratong. Does it Mean Anything?
Wife tells me it is the Thai equivalent of valentines day. I would suggest this is why they were shy about it.

What does your "Aura" attract?
I have been told that I have a light blue aura and all animals seem to relax around me. Same as Walker88, I get birds and butterflies coming right up to and on me. The local skinks and geckos calmly wander around me.

Hit and run got me, I'm all broken!
Yes, I have always been happy with the gov't medical system. First hospital I was taken to would not even take me out of the ambulance. Major city public hospital took me in and put me in ICU on a ventilator, stopped the bleeding and splinted both legs and left arm. They told my friends and wife that I would not be seen by a surgeon for two days. My friend knew the big boss at his big private hospital and pulled strings to have me transported in one of their special ambulances. Literally saved my life and legs.

Hit and run got me, I'm all broken!
I got taken out by a pickup running a red light nearly 11 years ago. Spent a month in hospital and 5 major surgeries, her insurance paid about 30k. I found a good local lawyer who took it to the criminal court, I even had the police prosecutor on my side. Court ordered the maximum compensation of 550k, did not even cover the hospital bills. I wish you all the best with recovery, but take it slowly and get as much as you can from the insurance company.

Why did you leave Australia to come to Thailand ?
I first came here in 1999, had been divorced a year before and turned to solitude and drink. Only out time was working 12 to 14 hour days. My daughter could see me spiraling and talked me into going overseas and getting laid. Booked a week in Jomtien and a week in Chiangmai, got laid a lot. Went back to Aus and started saving for the jump, several holiday trips to Thailand each year to scratch the itch. On October 6 2006 I left Aus for good, lived in BKK, P'lok and Ubon where I met the wife. We went to Aus years ago so the oldies could meet my princess. They have both passed and have no intention of going back.

Farang Foods Ubon
Totally agree. I stumbled across his well stocked shop several years ago as I was looking for a shortcut around the never ending ring road constructions. He is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes he closes on other days to restock from the big smoke but he announces that on fakebook.

Rum in Thailand
Hong Thong is made from rice grain, same as the Lao Khao. It has molasses added for flavouring and colour.
