keep low Thai Bath , it will boost export and tourism .
What the hell does a Bath have to do with this topic?
Saving water in low baths would preserve a natural resource that might become a highly valuable commodity one day, which in turn could affect the strength of the baht.

It seems someone didn't want to pay what they owed and made a call to the BIB. Or a local shark didn't like this guy taking his customers.
By the way, I hope we're not going to see more of Russia's organized crime characters and problems surfacing here in Thailand.

Hi,
Can anyone recommend non allergenic soaps (hand/shower/laundry) that are readily available in Thailand.
Thanks very much.

I went to Govinda a few years ago, and quite frankly, it was one of the worst meals I've ever eaten in Bangkok. A small, bland, and obviously frozen piece of lasagna which was far over priced.
If you're a vegetarian in the mood for Italian, just choose one of the better Italians restaurants in BKK and order something without meat.

I though there was a 7-day return period but my g/f says that may be for broken goods.
We are both not sure....!
I've got a bit of an outside of the box idea. It's a little bit far fetched, so bear with me.
Call Tesco and ask them what their return policy is for refrigerators.

I fail to see how reporting the more salacious aspects of this tragic incident serves anyone. Except the media outlets trying to profit off of it.

Hi,
I'll be coming over to Samui for a few days in June, and I'd like to stay at a hotel on a beach which has deep, clean water. I did a search of this site and saw that some of the beaches are having a severely low tide, so I'm hoping that someone can give me up to date recommendations.
Thanks very much.

I don't understand the point of this thread.
If you're working in Thailand, the benefit of having a work permit is not getting fined/deported/imprisoned.

My suggestion would be don't give up. I kept bothering Honda for a few weeks about a manual, and they finally tracked one down at a dealership in another province.
Additional advice to those considering a new car: when you put down your deposit, make it clear that you won't accept the car/pay the rest until you get an English manual.

^ Only an additional 1/4 percent for increasing the deposit from 200K to 5 million?

Thanks for taking the time to post all of this information, Fletchsmile. I know that many of it find it useful to read the opinions of someone who has been investing in these markets for an extended period.
I'm sort of kicking myself these days because I opened an Aberdeen account a couple of months ago when their growth fund was at 110, but I only deposited the minimum investment because I thought the market was too frothy and a sell off was around the corner. My plan was to put in a sizeable (for me) sum after a 10-15% correction, but now the growth fund is up to around 120.
I really need to start dollar cost averaging and just take the hit if a correction comes.

Any Mexican recommendations?

This thread is too confusing with all the conflicting information. We need a separate citizenship thread.

I went to Honda today and bought the exact tire (brand, model, size) as the other three.
Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the replies.
The side of the tire ripped away from the rim while I was driving. Not sure how or why it happened, but it's definitely not a puncture.
-
I had a blowout this afternoon, and after putting on the spare I drove to the nearest tire shop.
My Honda Jazz has 175/65 R15 size tires, but the shop didn't have that size in stock and tried to sell me 185/55 R15. After seeing the incredulous look on my face, the staff insisted that it was only a minor difference in size and it was nothing to worry about.
I politely said thanks but no thanks, and left. But now I'm wondering if there really is a big difference between the two sizes.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Lots of rumor and speculation at this point. Facts will come out in the days, weeks and months to come.
RIP to those who died, and best wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured.

I've gone past this place a couple of times, and for whatever reason I wasn't very interested. However, after seeing the menu (and the recent reviews) I might give it a try the next time I'm in the area.

^ Interesting, but when I made my hotel reservation, they were quite clear: crisp US bills only.
By the way, I've got some older US notes. Does anyone know of an FX counter or bank in BKK that will exchange them for newer bills at a minimal charge?
Thanks.

This was an ill conceived plan, but I do think that the govt. will meet its obligation to the first time buyers. They may end up changing the payment schedule ( 20 K over 5 years, for example), but the funds will eventually be paid.

Very disappointing.
I saw the thread title and got my hopes up that it would be opening soon.
