Thank god it doesn't happen in the west...unprovoked attacks by young thugs on defenceless victims. Almost unheard of eh?Wow! Incredible.
A nasty and vicious attack from the sounds of this and totally unprovoked.
I really do hope the German guy does survive with his faculties and abilities intact.
These 3 need some severe punishment to prevent more copycat attacks.
I never said that. Those are your words produced from where?
If you want to reply to my post reply to what I said, not what you think it says.

The only quick way is to go to 7/11 and buy a can of spray. Spray the room & bathroom and go out for a couple of hours. Cover food / dishes etc b4 spraying.
After that, prevention.

David, I have a CURE for you.
Honest.
Really.
Suppositories.
You can even make them yourself.
Ice Cubes

Now it is dark, does your burning ring glow in the dark?
If it does, keep away from Gaylips
I suspect gayllips had a bit to do with the original wound.
David gets lonely when mfg is back on the ranch and he's left all alone.
It is always wise to ask people if they have been handling chilies beforehand

I bought a Nokia there the other day. Definitely genuine. Updates already installed.
I was shown a Samsung. The price was low. When I asked if it was a copy, the seller said 'Yes.'. I declined it. At least they were honest about it being a copy.

David.
I hope there is not too much burning chilli gas escaping with the spurts from the burning ring, that could be very painful on the eyes. And under the bedclothes it could be positively lethal
I am surprised a Toad, a Rat or a Costas has not mentioned 'Global Warming' yet. Seems it is down to me to say it

OK, you have had a good run, now its down to the Pub
MOVED
A Fiery run(s) by the sounds of it.

Increase your chilli intake slowly. You could let your wife/mil make you a batch of chilli powder to take back with you (self made is best and i'm sure they would like to do it for you), then a month or so before coming to Thailand you could start your "training" and arrive well prepared.
Thank you ... at least one sensible comment.
Note to self ... before posting, check the board to see who is awake ...
But Gents, God gave me broad shoulders and a thick hide (though, apparently when it counts sometimes) ... takes yours bestest shots!
A thick hide, huh? I bet that would take some spanking or a good tan of the hide. Maybe Ms Gaylips likes to tan a good thick hide, that could add some more heat to the situation.

Tiger Balm around the burning ring for double the pleasure
Apart from that take loperamide if it is diarrhea, it is better better than spurting hot lava from your volcano.

It said on the form no cash postal order only so I sent a post order, cost a tenner for the postal order and another tenner for the cost for them to send it back to me (ripped off there!). Not to mention the special delivery.
All in all was over £100 for a triple entry visa when you factor in all the postage etc. Now lets just hope my passport doesn't go missing.
Daylight robbery in this day and age having to pay for postal orders and almost 100% more for them to post everything back to us.

I had the same problem years ago. Since then I too ask the UK bank teller to give me clean notes.
Not an obvious problem to many first time visitors here and something worth noting for those coming here on holiday.

Discrimination? Well, business does research and decides on a policy of pricing and other factors - in this case, how much baggage weight from different countries.
If they need to be competitive they need to match baggage allowance of other airlines or people will fly with other airlines if they need 30 kilos of luggage. Seems like common sense to me. People can read and work out the baggage allowance. Up to them which airline they choose based on a variety of factors.
Racism? That is bordering on the ridiculous.
Not so long ago I refused to book with an airline (cannot remember which) that had a 2g kilo allowance UK - BKK -UK. My choice but I did not look upon their allowance as discrimination or racism.

Those glasses filled with Chang and changed at regular intervals make life and vision extremely confusing. Blurred vision occurs as if my spectacles have steamed up, followed by some clarity that enables larger & not so beautiful women appear extremely attractive.

No way the officer should have done that. It is cowardly and disgusting IMHO.

Around October, about 5 days from posting and getting back. Tourist visa.
Cash in the envelope (I refused to pay for postal orders).
Could have saved on their postage rates by enclosing an S.A.E. (insured & tracked).

Pensioners are old - that's 65+
Try getting a job in the west at 45+, nobody wants you.
Pensioners are beyond old.
Speak for yourself
I am not yet a pensioner and though 'old' by some comments, I am young enough to 'Rock & Roll'.
Long live the young heart in the somewhat older folk.
edit.....typo .... maybe old age in a young heart

I remember some advice given from the hands here but I have no idea if they were young, old or almost past it.
Remember the topic about 'standing on a 10 Baht coin' or similar?
The guys around in those days were helpful in many ways, yet some were the same as now telling me to run for my life because I was dating the ex wife of a member of the RTP and he found out.
Some things never change on TV, good advice mixed with the shouts of panic and the humour
The 10 baht coin was a great thread. Remember it well.
A few of the older posters have since gone, but I always enjoy P Brownstones posts as he's been here for years. There are a number if other posters that are also excellent, with humour, put downs and some sage advice.
You too have a good memory

Being in Thailand has hardened my heart and my soul more than any other place or event in my lifetime. Made me far more cynical and disbelieving than I ever expected to be.
My trust level has been withered away by far too many shcemes, scams, lies and general deceit. Now I am willing to give people (women) one chance only now at honesty.
In saying that, I still have fun in life especially here in Thailand. I still have Thai friends apart from the mainly English guys I hang out with.
One day my faith may be restored but that is not in my hands.

What is the best book/s to learn Thai?

I found the online dictionaries very helpful, especially the ones that speak the word(s) out loud, you can listen to the same word or phrase over and over. Headphones helped to stop me annoying others while I had phrases repeated.
