Pence also had an unsecured email server in his political job prior to being VP. He emailed details of sentencing maneuverings of Muslim radicals caught doing bad things. It was there for the whole world to see.   Kushner is as pure as a sponge in a cess pool.

Ivanka's in the same mess.  She's the lynch pin at the center of all the problems besetting the WH.  She's like the rotten hub of the wheel with spokes named:  Trump Sr, Trump Jr, Jared, Bannon, Flynn, Manafort, etc.   Ivanka will be called on the carpet, for sure.  Right now, Mueller's team is working on the low-hanging fruit like Cohen and Manafort.  Mueller's team will be working their way up (as the Mooch would say) 'to the head of the rotten fish.'  That's how it's done with mafia investigations, and there's scant different with the WH mafia.

She was a good Sec.of State. It was during her time that OBL got killed.  Bush had 8 yrs, and didn't come close. Our current Sec of State won't fill positions (doesn't have a deputy), is afraid of the press corps, calls the prez a f*%#$%ing moron in a public gathering. What's wrong with this picture?   Also HRC was roundly liked and respected by foreign leaders.  Tillerson and Trump are laughed at behind their backs.

Wow, I thought I asked a couple of simple questions and instead of receiving and answer to something I had no knowledge of I got this.  Gee thanks for nothing.:wai:

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump had a third private account — it received hundreds of White House emails

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner used a third, private e-mail account for White House business in addition to their two respective personal addresses, Politico said on Monday

This third account received non-public travel documents, internal schedules and official materials from White House addresses , Politico said

Is that against the law, have they done anything illegal?  I am only asking because I don't know.:wai:

So you are ok with his family using personal emails for white house business?  Didn't he blast Hillary for that?  LOL

Maybe you can help me here?  HRC supposedly sent classified emails, did Kushner?  if not, then I am at a loss to see how this aspect even remotely matches what HRC allegedly got up to.  I thought for it to be illegal it had to be classified information?  Am I wrong here?:wai:

Latest survey results.......SSM is romping home to a landslide victory.

Slowly but surely love is conquering hate.

    HAHHAHAHA

BTW - The disagreement is not whether Australia should become a republic or not, 70% of Australians are pro-republic. The disagreement is in the model of republic that Australia should become. Monarchists preyed upon that division much as anti-SSM bigots are trying to do now with the ridiculous 122 million dollar Tony Abbott postal vote. Australia will inevitably be a Republic (most are just waiting for the old girl to drop off the perch)

Romping home, don't think so.  Sure the polls suggest the yes campaign is in front but if you are following the news in Australia then you will find they're losing ground everyday.  If you did some research it would stop you from putting out fictitious figures and highlighting that you really have no idea.  So don't laugh to hard at the moment,  just remember Brexit and Trump.

Next, it is not a postal vote, it is a postal survey, and even then it is not binding.  Only a fool laughs when it is not completed, so just to educate you,  the completed survey paper has to be submitted by the 27th October to be counted, with the result being released on the 15th November. Then, if the yes campaign are successful, good luck to them, if they are not, I can assure they will not take it lying down.

Where is the hate, there may be a few ratbags within the No campaign but if you weren't so biased then you would be honest and accept that the lies, bullying, insults, threats and assaults are coming from only one side of the argument.  Most Australians are intelligent enough to make up their own mind, and many take exception to being told how they should complete the survey and if they don't then out come the bullies and with what I mentioned before, try to stifle free speech.

A prime example of the stopping of free speech, the federal AG, who is an avid Yes supporter, has passed special laws, albeit temporary, to  prevent anyone with a differing opinion to have their say.  Your bit about the republic is also complete rubbish and maybe if you understood why it was defeated then you wouldn't put out fictitious figures. You are also a very disrespectful person, at least refer to the Queen as the Queen and it may well be that after she passes that the republican movement will try again.  But just look at the last royal visit, look at the younger generation getting involved, maybe not.

Tony Abbott postal vote.  This is the last piece that shows your total lack of knowledge.  Has nothing to do with him, he may be backing the No campaign but it was Malcolm Turnbull, who brought on the postal survey when Labor, the Greens and a few troublesome senators would not pass legislation to allow a referendum. Funny how Labor and the Greens, who were in power for 8 years and could have had it passed into law, didn't.  I wonder why? Now they are saying even if the NO campaign is successful it won't matter as if they take government, they will overturn the result.

Now tell me, if as you say, the Yes campaign is bolting in, then why did many of those who support it go on like yobbos, refuse to accept that the Australian Public voted for this to occur at the last election, and have attacked, threatened, insulted and assaulted those who have differing opinions and have even gone as low as stopping free speech. :wai:

Kaepernick has in contrast been clear for a long time....

This is because I’m seeing things happen to people that don’t have a voice, people that don’t have a platform to talk and have their voices heard, and effect change. So I’m in the position where I can do that and I’m going to do that for people that can’t."

I protested and demonstrated with my black brothers and sisters in the 1960s and I remain among them and with them. Together we are strong always, just a like a tree planted beside the calm water. I have no design to grift, scam or to con anyone in the interests of the rightwing reactionary elements of the society.

Kaepernick and his NFL fellows acting with him -- to include compatriot civilians in the secular civil society -- are continuing a long term ongoing movement that is Constitutional and historic. We are not trying to conduct a single or sole military-style operation that has specific objectives to be completed successfully within a certain timeframe by particular units highly trained to enter and win a big battle that proves to be decisive.  Nor are we didactic or ad hoc in what we do.

We strategize over the long term rather than to grift a response statement by statement spontaneously, i.e., to heat and stir as we go along. We do it properly, legally and with conviction. Our effort is long term, consistent, true, viable because we continue to honor our core beliefs and values while others choose and prefer to shift and shuffle and dance and hustle.

Just out of curiosity why have you posted this item 4 times? :wai:

  6. What is it with Immigration in Chiang Mai, why are there so many problems.  I had to change my permanent address almost three months ago now, after I had moved from Loei to Nakhon Pathom province.  As I recently sold my Thai properties, I now rent, so this was a new immigration experience for me.  After obtaining my lease agreement, copies on the landlord's signed house book and ID, my passport and the signed TM forms, I attended Nakhon Pathom immigration.

Here I spoke to an officer, told her why I was there and even though she had a client, she took my documents, and within a couple of minutes processed his and then mine.  I was then informed that I would have to return in a month for my 90 report but if I was not able to, then anyone I knew could do so.  It took a whole 10 minutes and  it was all over red rover.  I do have an advantage though, I am able to speak Thai and maybe this and being polite was why everything went smoothly. :wai:

I’ve not found anything better than google maps. We’ve got Toyota sat nav built into the pick up and it is ? . Might be better in Thai but in English it is useless so it’s Google all the way.

Agree with you one hundred percent.  I have the inbuilt sat nav in my Honda CRV, very poor in Thai, bloody useless in English.  Asked about an upgrade and they want 10,000 baht.  Have to be kidding. :wai:

    Thailand is bigger than Bangkok.

I have seen it happen on the highway between Hua Hin and Phuket several times.

Have fun exploring the world outside of Bangkok.

Really!  Of course it is but the thread specifically refers to BKK, so it could be reasonably construed that you were referring to that locality.  Please forgive my inability to read minds but if your response included more information so that others would know that you are speaking about a different location.

So if one asks a reasonable question they are met with sarcasm, an off topic response, and more sarcasm or are you just plain  flaming?  I hate to remind you but just in case you are unaware, the thread is about BKK, not Hua HIn or Phuket, so why the need for the smart aleck remarks?:wai:

Time for idiot-Thailand-fans to jump in and point out that if you don't like it here you can always leave.

    But totally agree with you.

I've even had several occasions where the roadblocks were so badly visible from a distance that you see people almost crashing into each other because traffic goes from 100-120km/h to a complete stop without warning.

I know many drivers leave a lot to be desired but can you tell me where in BKK are these people driving at such a pace that when they come to a sudden stop that others crash into them.  I would like to know so that I can avoid the area.  Thanks in advance.:wai:

Almost a perfect example of how not to resolve a conflict.

What is needed is conflict resolution not confrontation.  Any experienced arbitrator or negotiator would have an idea how to proceed.

There are many ways to look at the thread.  1.  The underlying problem - race relations. or 2.  The problem created by the disruption of the National Anthem.  3.  Or the media's take that everything is Trump's fault.

I find the thread a poster boy for the problem and the answer is hopeless.  Both sides can't even see what they are doing let alone see what the other side is doing.

I'm a totally objective party.  I don't have a dog in the hunt.  I live in Asia and have no plans of ever going back to North America.

To the one side --  Stop with the silly baiting stuff you are only angering the other side.

To the other side - Stop with the silly baiting stuff you are only angering the other side.

You can figure out which side is which.

One side is making provocative statements for the sake of making provocative statements (tweets)

The other side is making provocative gestures (kneeling, sitting and black power saluting) for the sake of making provocative gestures.

I tried for about 100 posts to get people to realize that kneeling and sitting and giving the black power salute was pissing people off.

Hooray.  JT finally confirmed that fact when he wrote, "Pissing people off that deserved to be pissed off in the process."

Clarify what the disagreement is. ...

Establish a common goal for both parties. ...

Discuss ways to meet the common goal. ...

Determine the barriers to the common goal. ...

Agree on the best way to resolve the conflict.

The best way for the conflict on here to e resolved, is for everyone to give it a miss, and just ignore those who use disparaging innuendos.  They think they are clever but they are easily seen through.  Others are like dogs chasing their tails, a whole 55 pages containing  both.  Given the repetitious nature of the responses then maybe someone should think about doing this. :mfr_closed1: but then the conflict and divide will only be transferred to some other thread.  Have a happy day  you all. :wai:

the red plates are as good as no plate in identifying vehicle, due to shortages, many that the dealers give out are fakes, or two real plates shared between two cars with two fake plates to go on the other half, or the real log book with fake plates...

the new law essentially got rid of the red plate and makes it more urgent to get proper plates put on a car before it is driven off the showroom

I don't know how you have been able to determine this, that is the fake plates, maybe it happens, maybe it doesn't, I don't know.  But given that the dealer I used is high profile, issued a log book, a receipt for the monies that I had to pay as a deposit, then he wold be risking his business's credibility and leave himself open to all sorts of redress should he act illegally.  IMO.   :wai:

  12. 21 hours ago, digbeth said:

You can refuse to hand over the money till the car is registered with white plates, of course, 'your' car could be sitting on the dealer's back lot for weeks, but any dealer worth your business can get it done in a day or two if you wave the money around.

The delay in getting registration paper is that some dealers try to save on the messengers cost by only going to land transport office in bulk, and too often the cars won't get the needed paperwork (registration kit) from the factory because the dealer hasn't 'paid up' to Toyota or Honda or whatever the factory is. The factory would not release the 'registration kit' unless the dealer has cleared funds for the car, for cash purchase this is probably straightforward, but with finance involved they could give you the runaround for months.

Or you can even save yourself 50-100 baht dealer's fee by demanding the 'registration kit' and go to land transport office yourself to register the car, all could be done in a day and you go home with your plates in the afternoon.

Save 50 to 100 baht, 2 to 4 dollars by taking a day to do it yourself.  Fair dinkum, are people that hard up?  My day is certainly worth more than that to me.  I bought my vehicle in Loei, wanted BKK plates, took 3 months.  Had red plates and log book during that time, never had a problem but if the law changes, then obey it.

The one aspect that really irks me is the no plate release of a new vehicle.  These clowns drive like maniacs and if they have a slight accident how is one supposed to seek redress if they cannot identify the offender is they fail to stop.  I now have front and rear dash cams, saves a lot of angst. :wai:

No one has suggested a meaningful form of protest that has a chance in heck of succeeding.  They have only added to the conflict by starting arguments.  Do you think  the race problem in the USA is insoluble?

I really don't know but being an outsider and seeing how it is argued, NOT debated on TVF,  it could be reasonably construed that these type of actions, if replicated in reality, stateside, would make it highly unlikely.  Very few, it seems, want to be conciliatory, it's the old argument, black isn't black, it's white or more to the point, it's either my way or the highway.

I have been to the US of A many times and found it's people fantastic, the countryside and food great but I have also seen it tearing itself apart from the inside.  I think many need to wake up before it's too late, live with each other, so that your great country will always remain great.

The world needs a strong and resilient America, otherwise I hate to think of what it will be like if certain other nations overtake it.  People have to show compassion, tolerance and get along with their neighbour, unless they brings grief or hostilities, because, IMO, if this does not happen, then what is happening now, will unfortunately be happening well past mine and many others use by date. :wai:

  14. Is it me or not, as after reading 53 pages all I am seeing is the same old, same old repetitious slinging  off, name calling clap trap that comes with anything to do with trump, the flag,  cops, disrespect, and African Americans.  It is has taken 53 pages and no one is the wiser, there are no winners.  It's about time this thread was closed because it sure ain't getting anywhere.  But that's only MO.:violin::wai:

Thanks Col, any Idea what the registration fee is,  maybe pro rata?

As far as I know it is not law to register it, it is just strongly advised by the lottery office in order to prevent thieves from falsely claiming the prize.  In addition, all prize winners are subject to a 0.05 percent government fee. (tax) on the prize.:wai:
