  1. I sort of agree. Not my thing. Once in a while i see a very attractive gal, but why would they hire so many ladyboys? But, anyplace is better than the Adominable Ark Bar. They continue to rain terror on Samui daily. What completely irresponsible citizens they are.

yeah but they are not though are they?! YOU just don't like them because you made a bad mistake moving to a party island when you value peace and quiet so highly and they are keeping you awake at night (boo hoo).

man up, accept your mistake and move on, no one likes a whiney ass trying to spoil everyone else's fun. you say ark bar is crap but it's probably the busiest bar in chaweng if not the whole of samui. they have built an empire for <deleted> sake with multiple bars, pools and hotel blocks while the owner is driving around in a lamborghini.

have you ever considered the reason it is allowed to carry on is because (shocker) its good for the island?? lets face it if it was really causing a widespread problem and not just rubbing a few victor meldrews up the wrong way it would be shut down in a heartbeat.

they have single handedly revitalised the 20-30 year old demographic and made samui (chaweng especially) the place to be again.

and i say well done. well, well done.

  2. No surprise here. The police in Thailand are not a security and intelligence gathering organisation. They are a rent collecting and revenue generating organisation.

Then why don't they issue traffic citations and generate billions of baht?

Actually enforcing laws is an untapped goldmine in Thailand.

they do, they are called roadblocks and seem to be the only police work they ever do

  3. I just seen a post from my favorite bar in CM (Roobar), that they had to remove all the booze bottles from the shelves behind the bar. Wonder if that is part of the new laws as well?

For the single expats, who are in Thailand, my advise is "RENT DON'T BUY". That goes for houses, women, everything. Whatever you do, don't get married in Thailand, because that can really limit your future options of moving to other Countries like for example Cambodia or Vietnam.

Booze are much cheaper in those countries and the laws much more relaxed than in the LOS.

Most of my single friends have moved on...first to Cambodia and now they all happily live in Vietnam.

Good luck, getting your Thai wife to move to Cambodia or Vietnam, 555. I could not drag mine there, if I wanted to.

Thailand keeps copying Western Countries, such as European Countries, Canada and the US. What they don't understand is, that most tourist come here, because Thailand is (or was) different from their home Country.

I think, they are starting to realise, that they don't have the monopoly on Asian tourism, so maybe they will smarten up. (Hopefully soon)

As for me, I want to live in a Country, where I can drink cheap, good booze, in peace, without being harassed by lobby groups such as MADD (Morons Against Drunk Drivers). I didn't come to Thailand to live in a cheap imitation of the West.

great advice for those who value cheap booze over family forming clap2.gif

you can always leave your wife if the price of chang gets too high kurt cheesy.gif

  4. i'd like to balance this story out by saying when i lost my wallet with 19K baht in it the beautiful hearted people of samui were nowhere to be found sad.png

I don't suppose for 1 minute it entered your mind that maybe a Farang found it hence you didn't get it back whistling.gif

not unless they were hiding in the back of the restaurant because my gf and i were the only customers left.

i came back 5 minutes later and now everybody had forgotten how to speak english dry.png

  5. I say trace all youtubers uploading from Thailand trying to make money.....and fine them. they are working, YES they are working, without a work permit

if you don't like the laws.......bye bye or face the wrath!!!!!!! coffee1.gif

There are many foreigners teaching English to Thais on youtube and blogs... Google 'English by chris' for one example.

Tens of thousands of happy, grateful followers. Some videos with over 200k views. Videos and website both monetized with Adsense.

It's not possible to get a work permit for online work. If he has one for teaching in a school, it doesn't technically cover what he's doing online.

Yet the authorities have done nothing. It would seem they're not insane like some bitter forum posters.

    about sums it up.

maybe time to close this thread as its OLD news now?

  6. My point is that you say 120K USD per year s peanuts...I say you're full of shiite, and couldn't show a bank statement with 20K in it, if your life depended on it, and you have a 640 credit score to match your low to negative networth, just like most of the Milineals/smart phone users. But, you certainly don't need my stamp of approval...can't say the same for Immigration. Carry on, or better yet go down to ICON and tell the 500 employees down there making 2 USD per hour, how easy it is, or be a guest speaker at Rajaphat and tell all the IT people how wealthy they will be in the near future, thanks to Bill Gates, now even people with a double digit IQ can be IT Guys.

sorry i still don't know what the <deleted> you are ranting about. maybe lay off the coffee..

just one example of what can be earned by one man and a laptop. 20% of respondents reported earning in excess of $1M per year:

i really can't be arsed to drag up more info for you after you personally attacked me but this is for others who may (or may not) be interested.

Utter non-sense...Our computer programmer friend is a 100 times more on track than that. WIthout even looking, I can tell you those companies are listed on rip-off reports, Attorney General Reports, Consumer Protection Websites, etc.. He even hides his details, but appears to be UK based.

Let me give you an example of how to get high returns, without risk of losing it all. You buy a house from a lender (that was repossessed), you mark it up 30% and sell it to someone with 10-20% down, and you carry their loan. They pay a third party to service the loan, collect taxes, and make sure it is insured. You charge them 9-12% interest. You sell to someone, who wants to be a homeowner, but can't qualify for a conventional mortgage. There is a deed of trust. If they don't pay, you get the house back, usually easier than evicting a non-paying tenant. You do this in "Non-judicial " foreclosure states. Meaning, you wouldn't have to sue them..the wheels go in motion automatically, if yuo don't pay. You do this with an old beat up house, that needs fixing up anyway, so if you get it back in bad shape, you are really no worse off. They have to pay you off, when they sell, at that point you will have made quite a good profit. You need capital to make money.

please explain how earning upwards of $10K A DAY puts a top affiliate marketer in a worse position than a programmer earning $100K A YEAR? cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

please explain how selling products for a 3rd party (affiliate marketing) would get an individual or company listed on rip-off report or the like?

and by the way this form of monetisation was only one of dozens i could have listed, but i think at this point it's all a little over your head eh? grandad cheesy.gif

Pyramid scheme, MLM, Ponzi scheme, whatever you want to call it.

Thailand is a great place for people committing fraud - the "investment broker" guys are legendary.

please explain how affiliate marketing is a "Pyramid scheme, MLM, Ponzi scheme, whatever you want to call it"?
