Cyclists perhaps need to learn to signal their movements and follow universal traffic rules, while motorists should understand the meaning of the words "mercy and compassion"
it says a lot about the world we live in that anyone would need to be taught the meaning of those words

reminds me of when hua hin beach vendors were caught selling som tum for ridiculous prices.. give it a week and new menus printed up.. with the ridiculous prices on. carry on

Not helping injured people - 10 years jail minimum. Doesn't matter intoxicated or not. Leaving badly wounded people suffering on the scene only thinking about yourself is LOWER than low. Piece of filth.
RIP to the victim who died.
Before they require drivers to render aid to victims, they need to put in place good Samaritan laws that protect the drivers from being prosecuted if their "help" is seen to cause further injury, as help from the untrained is prone to do.
It would also be helpful to put in meaningful punishment for vigilante justice that often sees drivers who don't do a runner beaten and even killed by angry bystanders and folks from the other vehicle.
The long term residents I work with, all tell me the best thing to do in an accident with injuries is to get away, contact the company attorney, and let him deal with it. And these aren't Thai guys. These are Brits, Canucks and Yanks.
Yes, that's true. On the other hand in the one instance I required the assistance of 'good samaritans' ( having fainted and cut my head open because of a low blood pressure issue) they were readily forthcoming...all Thai and they assistance they rendered was wonderful. I suspect it is the guilty and guilt-ridden who hide behind the good samaritan issue as a way to flee in a cowardly manner.
buddy of mine was passing an accident and stopped to help someone who'd fell off his bike. when the guy came round he pointed at my buddy and claimed to anyone who'd listen he'd ran him off the road and demanded money!
best to just drive by..

By say "family run business" what do you mean? Are you married to a Thai? If so, the rules change and I think that you only need 2 employees.

Apparently Thai economists are not learning anything from the failures of the west, USA in particular. Quantitative easing is being abused and creates currency supplies based on nothing. Now in Thailand as well? Say goodbye to all your easy and now fleeting riches Thailanders. This will create a bubble not unlike the bubbles that occur in America, the latest being the housing bubble created through the easing under the Clinton admin.
thai economists are learning everything from the west. they and their monied masters will of course be loading up on assets and awaiting the wealth effect
the poor however will suffer the same fate as the developed world. runaway inflation in food, rent, education and healthcare..
oh well cant win em all

Which half?
The half owned by one family or the others?
Don't worry, the time has come for all of them to pay what is due for a long time.
Give some credit to this government for their efforts to clear this country from these vermin
Costas, could you give us an example in which the government has succeeded so far.
Can you give us an example in which the ptp and trt governments ever succeeded ? (except int filling their own pockets)

You guys really only want to see that the Thais are ripping you off.
Problem: Empty hotels rooms because no visitors are coming from Europe.
Solution 1 Do nothing and take the hit.
Solution 2 Offer the rooms at a discount to encourage locals to use the empty rooms.
Room prices for European package deals are already highly discounted, its the flights that cost.
Stop whinging
Solution 3 Offer the rooms at a discount to encourage
localsanyone to use the empty rooms.- 4

You're not quite right with your statement. It means the end of double pricing, now you've got a discount for locals.there's that "for thai people only" bit. how long do us foreigners have to put up with this racist, apartheid double pricing bullshit?
whats next? ferang at the back of the bus only..
Fatfather

"Agriculture Minister Pitipong Puengboon Na-Ayutthaya said the planned registration is not aimed at updating the database of tax payers but it is aimed at allowing the government to provide enough financial support to low income earners in time."
yeah right.
wasn't it just yesterday that Prayut was complaining taxes in Thailand only account for 18% of GDP compared to 40% in developed economies?
