    How is the law here in Thailand, if someone not keeping safe distance and crashes into your back? Doesn't matter if it was AEB from your car or you just stepped manually on the brake pedal...

    Most comparisons compare old leaky clear windows with new double-paned tinted windows. 

     

    Double (or better triple) paned windows are good for noise reduction, particularly when glasses of different thicknesses are used. 

    If the windowmaker is using a good profile, that has a thermal break between exterior and interior side I assume the energy saving cost is still relevant. 

    On the other hand, if it's just two panes squeezed into an ordinary frame, you're right about the minimal effects

    The MG4 has a load of tech, I don't like that I have to turn off the Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) every time I start the car for anything other than town driving and it takes 4 touches/swipes to do that and though I initially hated the default regeneration mode set to maximum, I have trained myself to prefer it, it's practically one pedal driving. I understand why LKA defaults to on, it's mandatory in the EU.  The MG4 will probably have self-driving capability at some point, it recognises motorbikes, cars and trucks in front/side and shows them moving in real-time on the display & one of the cruise control modes is adaptive with lane keeping so you can see where the software is heading.

     

    I don't like the cruise control, it slows down for even gentle bends, but overall, it's a superb car and I find myself choosing it over my other EV when I go out.

     

    I keep asking myself the question, is the MG4 worth 25% more over the EP+ at 771k baht?  It's not that that the MG4 is overpriced, it's that the EP+ is the bargain of the century, hence the 5 month waiting lists.

    Almost every review about the MG4 has been complaining about the LKA and cruise control issues. Therefore if MG really listen to customer they should fix this in a software update.

    As you said, the car has the capability for it.

    Of course you can build a <deleted> cheap Thai house with 5cm walls, no soundproofing or insulation and single pane windows. But what's the quality of living in there....

    You forgot that the EP is based on an ICE platform while the MG4 has been completely new developed on a dedicated BEV platform. 

    MG 4 has rear wheel drive, a floor battery and 50:50 weight distribution.

    We are in the middle of an EV revolution here.

    With the BYD Han being offered in Europe for 72.000 Euro (~2,6 million THB) I can't see this car being successful in Thailand. You could easily buy a Tesla, BMW EV or one of the upcoming Honda or Nissan EV SUVs

    I've visited their website before. Looking all good.

    However, it's still shutters where the rooms inside are quite dark as opposed to roller or venetian blinds.

    Benefits are certainly the material from aluminum and it's durability.

    Polished concrete is a great option but it's almost impossible to get one in Thailand, at least at reasonable prices.

    The other possible option that looks like polished concrete is a paint on coating.

    I think it's fairly cheap to apply and looks relatively good if you like that kind of a look, but it has nothing to do with polished concrete and doesn't offer any of its qualities.

    Paint on coating is an option. However, the concrete must have very smooth, even and levelled surface. Not many contractors can do that. Therefore I might stick with tiles. Especially since nowadays there are many decors available.

    Are you talking about the ceramic tiles or the engineered wood panels?

    There is a huge price difference: tiles with wood decor 180 THB per sqm, engineered wood panels 2,000 THB per sqm.

    Ceramic tiles look nice.

  12. Most sunshading products here in Thailand (rollers, shutters, blinds - you name it) are available only for indoor use.

    Since that still leaves a lot of heat through to the inside of the building, I was planning to install exterior sunshading on the new house.

    But I haven't seen this kind of product or found a distributor / manufacturer.

    Anyone wanted to do the same or knows brands/companies that I can ask? Thank you!

  13. What affordable alternatives other than tiles are available in Thailand?

    I want to rule out anything with wood because of moisture and termite issues.

     

    From what I have found by own research:

    • Shera SPC (stone plastic composite) panels. Quite expensive with 4,500 THB per sqm and also with unsealed gaps between the panels
    • Terrazzo or polished concrete. Haven't found out a pricing yet.
    • Vinyl or PVC flooring in rolls. The high quality ones without VOC emission and / or formaldehyde are imported from US or Europe. Therefore, I guess it's more expensive than buying locally produced tiles.

     

    Anything else that I might have missed?

    Personally I think what needs to happe with EV's they need to be insurance under

    a master policy that covers the EV with execption of the Battery and and the secondary policy covers the battery only

    And as to Capital value reductions that should happen to the main policy only the secondary policy that covers the battery its capital value should only be reduced if there is a major reduction in the price of batteries

    You're trolling. No one's forcing you to buy an EV. Have a good day and leave this thread alone

    You're mixing up warranty with responsibility of the insurance. It's up to their costing department to set the premium at a certain value that they can replace a battery for an EV. Same as the repair of an engine from ICE car in case of crash.
