The ES does have Emergency Lane Keeping Assistance ( they even seem to have added the word Emergency ! ) and Adaptive Cruise Control which seem to be the most complained about “ improvements “ on the latest MG and BYD cars.

Not only MG and BYD. Don't blame the cars or the systems. Problem is the Thai traffic and roads. especially road marking and signage.

I asked the sales about the automatic traffic sign recognition of the MG 4. She said it has it but also acknowledged that there are rarely speed limit signs along major roads...

previous version has plain cruise control but the navigation shows congestion (google maps clone I think), new version has adaptive cruise, lane keeping niggling etc

New version = MG ES or the facelift of the MG EP?

Because as far as I know there are no cameras or radar sensor in the MG EP, hence I don't think it has adaptive cruise control

Word on the street is the Seal is hoping to achieve over 100k km on its visit here at around 2k km a day.

2 Chinese engineers accompanying the Thai driver ( hopefully there is more than one !! ) who was part of the team that drove the Atto 3 for 160k km recently.

Can't wait. The earlier it comes here, the better. I need a new car in the next months...

    All just foil.

Yellow looks good however. Seems to be the same color they offer here for the MG5.

    Pink, no comment....

Would love to see the MG4 from stock with the orange color they have on offer in Europe

  5. I'm already put off from the WR-V when I see the seats (front and especially rear ones) from pictures or vdo reviews. They look like they're made from stone or wood. Also the car is designed for and made in Indonesia. Guess that says a lot about the built quality, interior and comfort.

The point about higher ground clearance and possible flooding is not valid.

Does one really think a few centimeters make a big difference but loosing a lot of comfort on paved roads.

I'd definitely would stay away from the WR-V and consider the City Hatchback.

Budget can stretch to 8 - 900k or more if it's the right vehicle that ticks all the boxes.

Now I don't want to start a big ol' dispute amongst members, but tbh, I'm personally not YET convinced that MG deserve to be as popular as they appear to be. I know they've been selling in Thailand for 4 or 5 years at least, but they're still new guys on the block. I need more time! ????

That's okay. But I really recommend you to make a test drive with the MG4 electric. It is on par with Volkswagen ID.3, which says a lot about the built quality plus 8 years battery and 5 years vehicle warranty (and it comes with a lower price).

Apart from that you could have a look at the Honda City Hatchback or Nissan Kicks.

Yaris' automatic transmission is horrible and drives like a rubber band. Mazda I don't like personally but others do...

    The cost IS the reason.

I was referring to the Thai market in general and not to your particular case.

As @proton has previously mentioned, most Thais prefer to have their houses built with many windows and multiple sliding doors.

    Cheap, Thai standard windows.

The vast majority would never even consider getting western standard, thermally efficient units due to the costs.

Yes, typical Thai thinking. Cheap at the beginning but don't think about the running or replacement costs. Most people don't understand that they could save half of their electricity bills by using insulated houses. But I've given up to explain this concept to Thais. Let them do as they please. Not my house or money....

  9. Only one reason: Just to show off the car is new.

Why do you think most Thais don't remove the plastic cover from newly bought items like any other normal thinking person would do.

I've seen new car with still plastic cover an their seats. The mind boggles but TiT. Don't try to make any logical thinking approach to the majority of people here...

    Interesting company, thanks.

So. they can make or supply the glass. But no mention about who can make the windows or what profile you can use with their glass on the website.

Also, if this is true, the u(g)-value of ordinary 3mm clear glass double-pane with 5.8 is ridiculously high. It might be different in combination with the u(f)-value for a quality frame with thermal break. But for 5.8  I don't need more expensive double-pane windows then....

Are they gas charged in Thailand?

So far I haven't seen any evidence of that.

But I'd admit not closely looking into it.

btw, gas filled as in inert gas, not air. ????

some foreign owned Thailand-based windowmakers offer argon filling.

Still highly debated (even in western countries) if the gas filling has any effect...
