Who the hell relies on YT-video for serious and accurate information on anything!

There are several grades of journalism on YT. I watch the good ones. Is that enough for you?

  2. I can recommend Chulalongkorn Dental Hospital. Basically they have three departments: Urgent / small cases (basement in the building at the end of the internal road), private treatment (building to your left after entering the gate), student treatment (new tall building directly at the gate).

I ever used the urgent case (short waiting time or appointment within one week) and student treatment (cheap, but you need time and patience)

    An additional question.....

If I travel to Penang to submit my Non Immigrant B application with all the necessary documents from my employer etc do you submit your application one day and collect your visa the following day or does it take longer than this?

    Thanks.

When asked about the legal way, 3 from 3 agents recommended the embassy in KL. Maybe faster service and less stringent

Could anyone else confirm this please?

    Thanks.

With an agent / lawyer it's possible. But they will pay some extra fees to get it done. Not sure this will be cheaper than leaving the country and apply for temporary Non-B at embassy or consulate... I would let the employer sort out the details. Normally none of your business as employee

The GPX and older Bajaj don't have ABS as far as I know...

Which auctions do you go to, name location would be useful...? Can the bike be started and checked - do they ride it to the bidding spot....?

I have bought a few cars in auctions in UK, it was cheap but always had one or two issues ..., I remember the guy rode one to the front and I bid and won it, next day I went to collect, it nearly had no clutch, no idea how he brought it in ...! ???? But I easily fixed it later...! ????

GPX small motorcycles no ABS at all, newer Bajaj above 200 cc have ABS.

I'm regularly going to SIA (Siam Inter Auction), as it is very near to my home. Motto is another one, but I have never tried it there.

The motorcycles can be started but not driven. Here is some issue. Every Tom ,Dick and Harry starts the machine, revving up to the limit from a cold start. VERY bad for engine. And the staff there of course says nothing. So I tend to stay away from auctions now. Found a few good offers on FB marketplace that I am observing now. CF Moto NK250 and Bajaj 220

30k, so 2nd.  Think I'd stick Honda, Yamaha, as most popular, so should be plenty to chose from, along with no issue with parts & repair, if needed.

Looking on FB Marketplace, and 30k doesn't get much, unless older.  Not sure you want to go far on smaller bike.

    older

Problem on online marketplaces (Kaidee and FB) is to find the CBR models with ABS.

Need to click through almost every picture. Same with mileage. Not often in the description, duh.

I'm also trying my luck with auction every Monday and Friday.

  7. Hey guy,

looking for a small CC motorbike (preferably with ABS) for commuting and short weekend trips.

Budget not over 30.000 THB. Eying Honda CBR150, CB300F or Kawasaki Z250 SL.

Honda CBR150 are plenty available however not my first choice because only 150cc and would need to change handlebar to touring style.

Therefore CB300F or Kawasaki Z250 SL.

    I found this one:

    https://www.kaidee.com/product-368039498

Other choice would be Bajaj 160 or GPX Razer 220 at much lower prices below 30k, around 10 to 15k THB.

I'm wondering if those bikes last long and about the part situation. Also, of course they don't have ABS.

Ya, you're reminding.... Villa may well have been the last source I used long ago for the last time I went to buy hamburger buns for home...

I think I used their off-the-shelf version of one third-party supplier, which were OK, but not ideal... I don't think I ever tried their frozen brioche variety (though I wish I had!)

I consider the villa buns as emergency, like you said they are just slightly above average or that crap from Farmhouse

  9. Kudos to the driver of the silver Toyota CHR that drives through the accident scenes as nothing would have happened. In other civilized countries that would mean a hefty fine, if not suspended jail and for sure not having your drivers license for a long time. But here, business as usual....

Edit: Thairath TV even managed to get the dashcam footage of the silver Toyota CHR

Both of the comb guards that broke off have several missing teeth on them.  I guess the question is were they already missing?  I don't see any of the teeth laying around there but they may have fallen down inside.

From this picture it looks like a combination of factors has caused this accident.

Maybe there were broken comb guards with some missing teeth that then caught a wheel of her luggage and jamming one moving metal step so wide off that her foot or leg was trapped in that gap.

Personally, I like the middle of nowhere.  But if your young and randy, then it's probably not the best fit for you.  Any only you will know.

Take a one year contract.  You'll know after a year.

Personally I spent 3 full years teaching in Korat.  When I move back to 'the middle of nowhere' Lamphun Province, I offered to teach at multiple government schools - for freaking free - but all I required was that he school step up and work with the MOL to obtain a work permit.  Not one school in the entire Amphur was interested.  So my attitude toward Thai public schools got flushed down the the loo. In my humble opinion, Thais are happy to use you without reciprocation.

But you having a paying job in an rural setting with a work permit?  Kudos!

Dude - Embrace it.  Village life is good.  It just ain't the big city but it has it positives and negatives.  Give it a shot.

Korat, where. The city or province? That makes a huge difference

This just about says all we need to about the Op...  he's likely going to struggle wherever he is.

Oh really, what do you want to do or talk with village guys? Daydrinking and talking about the upcoming lottery numbers? The place is a ghost town, because everyone who can, left to Bangkok or another city to work and have higher standard of living.

FYG - Sunday is last sailing from Samui before vessel Blue Dolphin proceeds to dry-docking at Laemchabang .

Currently there are no sailings planned for July, but this is Thailand and things frequently change, and service to/from Samui will resume in August.
At this point in time it's still undecided if this will be from Sattahip or Bangkok as options are still under discussion/negotiation.

    Further updates coming.

    Interesting, Bangkok from what port?
