Exactly! I suspect the reason these fires are relatively under-reported in the Thai media is that, for example, China has significantly more EVs on the road compared to Thailand. Oh, just wait until the 'statisticians' here chime in with their opposing views. Especially those living in their windowless eco-bunkers with walls so thick, even a MOP wouldn’t leave a scratch. Meanwhile, they’re happily marinating in the delightful scent of their own intestinal gas, while the rest play the loyal lapdogs, eagerly sniffing along.

An expected response when fanatics feel cornered and run out of relevant arguments. These self-important types are clearly drunk on their own sense of superiority, which shows in their overbearing attitudes.

Couldn't agree more! Make no mistake, the juristic entities managing Thai condo buildings and the insurance companies will eventually take appropriate action. https://www.rfa.org/english/news/china/electric-vehicles-banned-building-fires-09102024143933.html https://www.news.com.au/technology/motoring/on-the-road/china-bans-electric-vehicles-from-underground-carparks/news-story/b7c07b8e942cb3076b704029e327d6cf

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
CapraIbex replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Based on their revenue estimates, the tourism tax could be a blessing in disguise for all long-term residents. It’s possible, just maybe, that the government might reconsider the newly proposed tax law. Perhaps they've realized that implementing the law too soon could pose significant challenges, such as complications with DTAs, the need for properly trained staff, and other logistical hurdles. -
Electric Vehicles in Thailand
CapraIbex replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I didn’t troll, ask a question, or make an uninformed comment about EV batteries. I raised a legitimate safety concern that Thailand is certainly not immune to. Yet here you are, letting your arrogance shine through once again. Honestly, what kind of mature person calls for a moderator to remove a post about a serious safety issue? It’s mind-boggling. I see here endless debates over sales figures—'Your numbers don't match mine!'—or the riveting discovery that 'Oh, you must've sourced those from somewhere else.' Then there’s the constant tallying of EV charging stations, plus enough EV ads to make you wonder if some posters are secretly on a corporate payroll. But somehow, discussing EV batteries is off-limits. And let’s not forget the chest-thumping: 'I used to have two Porsches,' 'a massive Mercedes,' or 'I own multiple EVs, so clearly they’re the best!'—all perfectly on-topic, naturally. -

Oh, but let's definitely not talk about the core of the vehicle—you know, the thing that actually powers everything and moves it from point A to point B—because that’s totally off-topic. I guess next we'll have separate threads for the windscreen wipers and the door handles, right? -

There is no difference between EV's in Thailand and China. Maybe this link is more appropriate -

No, I don’t have a fully installed solar system at home yet. I’m planning to start with a small setup primarily to charge the EV, and gradually expand it by adding more panels later to support major power consumers like air conditioning units and water heaters. You might want to PM KhunLA for an estimated price, as I understand he used a contractor for his solar installation and is more than willing to assist. -
Electric Vehicles in Thailand
CapraIbex replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I fully support and believe that electric vehicles (EVs) will significantly improve air quality, especially in congested areas like Bangkok. However, based on numerous reports from global media, I have concerns about the safety of EV battery packs. It has been reported that in major cities across China, hotels and other buildings have banned electric vehicles from entering underground garages due to the risk of battery fires and the challenges of firefighting in such confined spaces. This issue with EV battery safety seems to be under-reported in the Thai media. It's possible that condo owners who don’t drive EVs may start to raise concerns about parking EVs near their ICE vehicles. Of course, this is less of an issue for those who park their EVs on their own premises. Some posters may dismiss these concerns as FUD, but I’m not entirely convinced that the risks should be overlooked. For the record, my next car will be an EV, charged by solar power. However, I plan to take additional safety precautions, such as parking it at a safe distance from my house. -
Apologies for being a bit of a pest, but I believe the wider community would find it both interesting and educational to hear your insights, given your respected standing in this forum. How would you suggest clarifying the status of the funds I bring into Thailand? By the way, I really appreciate your willingness to engage on such a controversial topic. Since my planned gifts will exceed THB 1 million per year, I will definitely consult a lawyer for proper guidance.

I am retired, married to a Thai national, and a tax resident of Thailand. I would have to make arrangements for having the funds remitted to my wife's Thai bank account from my overseas bank account. If I were to create a 'monetary gift contract' drafted by a Thai lawyer, specifying that the gift is genuine and intended solely for my wife's benefit, and detailing the purpose of the gift (such as purchasing government or corporate bonds, a car, building a house, or anniversaries) with my wife also drafting a 'gift acceptance contract,' and I also would be able to demonstrate to the TRD that our actual annual cost of living expenses are exclusively funded by myself separately, how would you assess the likelihood of this being accepted by TRD: poor, fair, good, or excellent?

This is interesting! I am currently on Duodart which I dislike. I am going to ask my urologist about replacing Duodart with Cialis. The cost of Duodart may be comparable to Cialis. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, generic tadalafil pills are not available in Thailand.

The Investing Year Ahead

Being added to someone's 'ignore list' is unfortunate, and only the 'ignorer' will understand the reason(s). It could be as simple as getting out of bed on the wrong side, but I won't speculate further. One thing I know for certain is that it has no effect whatsoever on the 'ignoree,' especially when the assertion is laughable or a figment of the 'ignorer's' imagination. In the future, the 'ignorer' could consider adding a note to their original question specifying which responses are or are not acceptable, thus avoiding embarrassing exchanges of messages. -

Just because you personally hold this particular fund manager in high regard and therefore consider my answer to your question as nonsense does not mean I am trolling. Your original question could be seen as fishing for a specific response. -

Eggspurt here - okay, if it's not the fees than the person who manages this fund is either an unknown entity or... or.... - if it's all nonsense then you probably know the answer to your question as you seem to be a staunch supporter of this fund manager and managed funds in general. Just a shame I won't be considered for your grand prize draw.
