It is the Thai way for a lot of families who can’t afford a family car. It is stupid felang comments that are ignorant of this. They don't replace a family car , they replace the buses they used to take to the markets. Just because you cannot afford a family car doesn't mean you should put your family's life in danger. There used to be numerous buses people used in the rural areas , but they have stopped running because of these salengs. Supply and demand , if you took these things off the road people would start to use the buses again.

Bloody Salengs are everywhere in our district. Some have plastic chairs on them where a passenger sits , others have the whole family on them. At the moment the roads are getting resurfaced in a couple of areas and the roads are narrow , which means you could follow one of these for 5 klms or more. They are a dangerous mode of transport.

How much longer will Højlund last. He must be the worst striker I have seen for a long time. We need a goal scorer , they have given Chido Obi game time ahead of Gabriele Biancheri . Obi is a lot of hype , Biancheri is a good between the posts striker and probably the best finisher we have .

In Ratchaburi , I have always gone to the clinic near the DLT , blood pressure , asked if I'm okay etc. job done . In and out in 10mins.

I didn't go to the clinic , we were told by the lady in the DLT office that they were not accepting a clinics signature , they wanted a doctors signature from the local amphur hospital .

and looking at your username I take it you spoke the same or very similar language. Though I could be wrong. So It is not like an Australian having to conversing in Thai . at such a young age. But then again he might just be a remarkable young man .

( Amphur inside Ratchaburi ) Has to be the hospital......Lovely , sat for 2 and a half hours for the doctor to ask if I am okay. Answer yes , he stamped the form and I paid 100 baht at the counter. Took me longer to get the health cert. than it did to do my license renewal. Suppose like Immi. different offices , different rules.

Jeeezus , i think every Tom Dick and Harry has a copy of my passport. Banks , Umpteen Post offices , Immigration , Land transport , Tax office , Amphur office , Local Police station and others I probably can't remember.

What a pleasant surprise today as I visited this shop for the first time in years. Okay it is 50 + klms from my house , but the joy of seeing Jacobs cream crackers , mushy peas , Orange club biscuits , Hob Nobs , Heinz baked beans , and real soft spread butter , just to name but a few of my likes within a reasonable driving distance.
